Aurelie was born into a Kalosian family that proudly boasted many generations of metalsmiths and artisans, a family so closely associated with metalwork that even their names followed a metallic motif, with the eldest child always receiving a gold-themed name, the second a silver-themed name, the third a copper- or bronze-themed name, and so on. She learned basic forging techniques at the same time she learned to read and write, and she forged her first knife the same year she caught her first Pokemon. By adolescence, she was an accomplished bladesmith, while her brother Argentate, born three years after her, showed notable promise as a jeweler.[break][break]



When her father Cuprous retired from his blacksmithing business, LeFevre tradition dictated that his children compete to inherit his workshop by crafting their finest work in a week's time. While forging the elaborate flamberge rapier she planned to showcase, Aurelie suffered a catastrophic accident that nearly cost her her right eye. She lost several days being patched up at the hospital, the resulting scar was hideously disfiguring, and the rapier ended up rushed and unimpressive. Her parents, disappointed by her work and her apparent disregard for safety protocols, awarded the victory to Argentate. Aurelie's protestations that her safety goggles were tampered with and that one of her brother's Pokemon had pushed her went unheard as Argentate claimed the birthright that she had so badly wanted.[break][break]



So, she left. Seeking a fresh start away from tradition and family, Aurelie donned an eyepatch over her right eye and set off to establish herself elsewhere. She set up a small bladesmithing business, producing and selling kitchen cutlery, camping knives, gardening tools, and other mundane implements. She doesn't craft weapons for sale, but for the right customer with the right reasons, she might consider it.
