Sy colors in a very uncharacteristic way, cheek twitching in a wince.

He had, of course, partaken in the end-of-the-world festivities. Though he had done little more than perform sub-parly in the swimsuit contest and bump into people in the concert crowd.

“I definitely was there,” he amended, with a bit more cheer.

[break][break] he flushes slightly at the laughter that peals out of the ginger's mouth — whether it's because the other is laughing at him, or he is embarrassed by a memory is hard to say for sure. he dabs a napkin to his mouth.

“I have no doubts. You are always much more than adequate.”

He smiles, nose crinkling.

“I was in the swimsuit contest.” He tilts his head and looks away, eyes flashing wide for the briefest of seconds to sell the humorous effect. “Aaaaaaand I didn’t do so hot. Ultimately I think the whole thing was won by a drunk lady, so I don’t know what that says about the nature of the competition.”

He laughs it off. Nothing sticks in his craw for long. Or if it does, it is a repeatable thing, like being punctured with a needle many times. Draw it back, let it rest, force it in again.
