A truth well spoken despite the rather sarcastic tone it found itself guised beneath. Although for just a moment or so longer, his gaze dwelled upon her within his reprieve before promptly finding itself amidst the roots once more. He reached down towards them again to get back to work.[break][break]

”Just a pleasant surprise, is all~,” he added on, humming. ”Not something anyone sees from you every day~.”

"a pleasant surprise" he says, and the truth is glaring her in the eye. denial can only get her so far, after all. she's getting a little tired of denying it, although it's for her own reasons. so she turns her attention back to the sprouts that are perking up a little bit more, due to drinking some of the rain that seeps into the soil. [break][break]

though something he says bothers her, prompting a soft pout of "just because i don't show it, it doesn't mean it isn't there.." beneath veil of pattering rain. then she narrows her eyes to glance at a man tugging the roots from the dirt. [break][break]

"now wipe that grin off."

”Still dunno what grin you’re talking about, Miss Simone~.”[break][break]

After a fair bit more prying, he found the roots within his fingers loosened enough and freed from their earthly confines. With a subtle, yet satisfied and victorious sigh under his breath, he shook whatever dirt he could from its form before standing up once more.[break][break]

He nudged the woman’s arm before pointing further along the brush with his shovel, smiling playfully before beginning to walk.[break][break]

”Better off keeping your eyes on the prize instead of accusing me, though,” he mused on. ”Still need to gather a few more things before we’re good, I’d say~.”

she'll accuse him how ever she damn will pleases. [break][break]

.. but he has a point, she doesn't want them to stay out in the rain longer than they need to, especially when he's declining the umbrella. still, it feels like it's a bit of a waste to just.. leave it there, and not use it. but she doesn't exactly want to use it for herself; call it her stubbornness. [break][break]

instead, her gengar hops out of his pokemon, unprompted, waddling to grab the umbrella on the ground before opening it up, holding it over his head and large.. body. of course, it doesn't cover all of him, with his large tail sticking out and the majority of his back being unshielded, but she won't say anything. he looks so happy, after all. [break][break]

"you're so troublesome." she's referring to the man she's with as she grabs the bag of harvested herbs, and she glances out down the path while getting up shortly after his brief tap. still, she's looking out just like he wanted, and her brows furrow as she keeps her gaze outwards. under the pattering of the rain against a gengar's umbrella, you can hear a soft:[break][break]

"thank you for helping."
