LEONIDAS JAYCE STONE
born and raised in our favorite shitstorm of a region, leonidas is a league-aligned character that hails from rustboro city, hoenn. to this day, he’s equally made from integrity as he is money, and has always been the type of person to think of others before himself— and it still shows through the amount of charity work and the like he’s involved himself with. when he was fresh out of high school, he left the region to study overseas in pursuit of his passion in robotics.
one thing led to another, and after a startup with his friends found swift success, he founded his company, eventide: a company that specializes in robotics-based devices to be proposed towards medical and governmental fields, alongside a softer emphasis on builds meant to help regional energy supply (turbines, solar panels, etc.).
put shortly, he worked hard on his projects—both personal and professional—until a certain passing in the family occurred. needless to say, he dropped everything to return home. spent time resting and grieving. eventually, he went back to his company overseas, but before long, he came back during the summer of 2022 for two purposes: to open the hoennian branch of eventide, and—more importantly—ensure he was closer to those he cared about.

a big part of what i intended for leo was for him to act as an [b]uplifting[/b] pillar to other people and [i]their[/i] development whenever given the opportunity to do so, and obviously provided there’s a solid reason for ongoing interaction. a natural listener and empath, he’s always been more of a [b]giver[/b] to those he cares for— sometimes to a fault. he has an innate instinct to act as the [b]foundation[/b] and [b]light[/b] for other people to follow and hold onto in their time of need, which begs the question:
who could be there to support the supporter at the end of the day?
it’s a cyclic thing that could hopefully pave the way for good [b]give-and-take[/b] interactions [i](and maybe opportunities to tear the trust from it down? ohohoho)[/i], depending on how some bonds are nurtured! especially when considering he’s a bit more aloof for reasons he’s still trying to figure out in the wake of the [b]galar raids (in his case, rusted shield)[/b].

[li][b]trust crushing.[/b] could be a result of [b]faction conflicts[/b], but really, it could also just amount to [b]betrayals or differences of views[/b] on a [i]somewhat[/i] more casual front. one of his fortes is his [b]ability to trust and see good[/b] in people out of good faith. he's always been good at it, regardless of the past— but it'd be interesting to see that change.[/li]

[b]tl;dr:[/b] i’d love to establish relations—whether simple or more nuanced—from the raid, since it ties in to some changes in his personality.
[b]not as tl;dr:[/b] at his core, leo is a big people pleaser [i](not out of insecurity, but just because he’s the giving type)[/i], and a big reason of why he lives his life is [i]for[/i] the people around him, alongside the future he could live [i]with[/i] them. it’s not his entire personality, obviously, but he [b]thrives off of serving those he cares about[/b] and being there for them. he’s capable of standing on his own to an extent, but a lot of his foundations are anchored in [b]bonds[/b]— so taking that away equates to [b]taking away his hope[/b] over a long enough period of time.
you can probably see where i’m going with this, seeing the events of [b]goodbye galar[/b] lasted [b]two decades[/b].
on arrival at [b]motostoke[/b], he had [i]massive[/i] hope that he’d be able to return home quickly enough, and while establishing himself as [b]a smithy[/b] after adjusting to the dream, definitely did what he could to help around. [b]year one[/b] was spent in high spirits, but [b]partway into year two[/b] onward, his hope began to falter more and more. he remained steadfast and tried his best to keep faith, but in the end, he became [b]desensitized[/b], alongside just a little bit [i](read: very)[/i] [b]nihilistic and reclused[/b], and really only took care of himself to ease @/marisol as she kept an eagle eye on him.
he eventually fell into [b]researching[/b] as an obsessive distraction, spending his days learning all he could about [b]dynergy and dynite ore[/b], and—with arguably more precedence—[b]the stars and their guidance[/b].
the majority of the dream is forgotten to him, with what little he remembers being [b]sparing fragments and pieces[/b] that can’t amount to any fuller picture. with the exception of [b]his research[/b], the bulk of what he remembers is largely summed up to [b]vibes and hunches[/b]— and it’s because of them that, although he’s reverted to his normal personality, he’s always felt that there’s [b]something missing[/b], which has caused him to be considerably more [b]aloof[/b].
