Just as she laughed at the thought and, unbeknownst to him, recollection, he merely followed suit as his lips parted within the midst of a soft, albeit brief chuckle of his own. From the corner of his gaze had he eyed her once more, relieved of the disdain that ailed her so recently beforehand, before gazing forth to the namesake standing tall and solemnly before them once more.[break][break]

His hands found one another within a gentle embrace, all while their fingers tapped softly against one another in a bout of absentminded nothingness— meaningless gestures to fill the void that threatened to swallow him whole within the lapses and silences otherwise.[break][break]

”...But that’s a problem for future me, really~...” he added with another chuckle, shaking his head softly. He peered towards her a second time before long, nodding her way. ”For now, though, how about we go somewhere once we’re done here? Since we’re already out, anyway.”[break][break]

He nudged her gently.[break][break]

”’Cause much as I’d love to keep Alex company all day, I’m sure he’d understand~. …On the note of needing to catch up a lot, at least.”

”Then it’d just make our whole reason for being here useless, wouldn’t it?” he rung back immediately—flatly—with eyes still upon the selfsame ring that sat so familiarly upon his finger. A further knit surfaced between his brows as the words left his lips, though before long, he’d simply found himself drawing back from words left unspoken as they were replaced by another, simple breath.[break]

”We’re here for a reason,” he’d murmured in some degree of repetition— but whether or not it was to soothe and reassure himself would have been an idea left unanswered for sure. Sarcasm in its gentlest form, truly. Despite the weight of the conversation they’d found themselves within (and, to an extent, specifically due to it), he’d found a softened hum of amusement leaving his lips before it turned into a proper, musing sigh. Momentarily content with his sibling’s change in demeanor (even if slightly so), he shifted his legs to sit more comfortably, crossing them before him as he rested his hands within his lap once more.[break][break]

He peered towards the placard before them again.[break][break]

”It does, though,” he started off once more, a gentle wistfulness interwoven between his words, ”and yeah— we should. …We really should~...”[break][break]

”...I wouldn’t doubt it,” had been his initial response, however exasperated it may have sounded. He clicked his tongue softly before bringing his gaze back to the crystal nestled within his hand, palming it idly for a few moments. ”Seeing how it’s all connected— the stars and their stories; the environment and everything else.”[break][break]

He furrowed his brows with a faintly pensive look bleeding through and onto his expression, faltering faintly in poise for a spell or so. Though the crystal remained within his grasp, he inhaled deeply and breathed another sigh, his hands finding one another within the space of his lap as he gently began to twist the ring upon his finger.[break][break]

”...Honestly, though? As much as I’d be interested in it in any other circumstance, it’s…the least of my worries, at the moment.” He closed his eyes, shaking his head. ”Best case, it shouldn’t ideally matter, anyways. Despite all the time we’ve spent here, it’s hard to say how real all of this is.”

Little acknowledgement save for a soft, humming chuckle had followed it, however, as he turned his attention toward the crystal in hand once more. Hues of azure narrowed against its dimmed splendor for a couple of moments before the familiar flash of a manifesting Pokemon met the edge of his periphery— and with it, the flames of the new arrival sent out to provide a source of light. He blinked at the Ceruledge before his smile broadened once more—thirdly, and still faintly so—and uttered a small, ”Thank you~,” in passing before holding the Dynite Ore against the glow of the flame to properly inspect it.[break][break]

He memorized its ridges and edges, resting his thumb against the noteworthy crevices he’d managed to scope out before taking his hammer once more, tinkering and chiseling it down with a deftness before repeating the process. Once. Twice. Sculpting the gem had been something he’d familiarized himself with over the years, but as the woman with him had risen both words and object, alike, he found himself looking over once more.[break][break]

He rose a brow curiously before both furrowed.[break][break]

”...Is that some of the sludge?” he questioned with a faint inclination of interest and skepticism, alike. ”...How hasn’t it corroded through the bag yet?”

Nevertheless, a faint smile tugged upon his lips, all while a gentle chuckle escaped them.[break][break]

”I wouldn’t say that. Don’t go twisting my words like that~,” he jested with a quiet, mulling tone, shaking his head softly in some degree of faux disdain and disappointment, alike. He shifted the hammer between his finger, allowing it to slide a faint bit to adjust his grasp before gently tapping it against the ore again. ”Not many people are so willing to come down here, y’know. Dangers, and all.”[break][break]

He paused for a moment with a hum, briefly taking the hammer between his teeth just as he’d done with the crystal prior to hold the aforementioned gem up to the nearest source of light, however dim it may have been.[break][break]

In light of recent events, there was one thing he needed: a break. In the past, he would’ve rather made an excuse to not take one, but after the things he’d seen, experienced, and still found dwindling in his memory, he figured that there was no better time to make an exception.[break][break]

So, he’d called up a few of his friends and offered them a day among the Hoenn seas.[break]
It was a while since he’d taken his boat for a spin, anyways.[break][break]

And at first, it ended up being exactly what he needed. A good chat was in the works as both his and their Pokemon lounged upon the deck outside, but after noting Orion suddenly perking up and watching the waters around them, the Stone found his attention dwindling from the conversation at hand.[break][break]

And then, at the sight of some other Pokemon manifesting atop the boat, alongside some others he could only assume to be their trainers climbing from the waves, he found himself inhaling deeply.[break][break]

A quick, ”Go,” to his companions was all he’d breathed before reaching across the consoles in front of him, quickly picking up the transceiver and quickly flicking through the channels.[break][break]
