"oh shi—" the curse is torn off as he scrambles for the rod, nearly dropping it into the water below. by the time he's able to get a grasp, whatever it was, is already long gone.

"well, damn." dispirited, he reels the line-in, happy to see it's still in-tact. "that's a bummer," he says not to one in particular, reaching for the bucket of bait nearby. he looks up, raising both eyebrows as if to ask permission, before doing so.

something about the man was familiar to greyson, though he couldn't place. nor, did he apparently, have the time to. commotion to the side pulls his attention, grip slackening slightly on the wooden pole.

his spider was in combat with a massive violet hued bat. the wild-pokemon didn't stand much of a chance, even at its altitude, so when the battle wraps up quickly, he catches the thing.
