they're not usually able to but since the barriers, the lack of ships has worked in the region's favor.

Fingers intertwined, she trailed alongside him, shoulders lightly rubbing against one another. When they stopped at the stall, she'd lightly rest her head against his shoulder.

Her eyes, curious and wide, glanced up toward the sky. Stars twinkled and blinked down at them, making her wonder when was the last time she even had the chance to relax? To breath? To take in something other than paperwork. Subconsciously, she gave Cian's hand a tight squeeze.

"Oh, is it," She barked out a laughed, "What does my future star-reading assistant see then?"

Following the tip of his index, her eyes lifted back up, instantly finding the three-stared line.

"Cassiopeia?" Her voice echoed back his discovery. Penelope wasn't an astronomer -- in fact, she barely managed to pass most of her science classes back in college. But, tonight, her heart thrummed with childlike enthusiasm. More than anything, she wanted to get closer.

"Come on." With a tug, she pulled him further onto the beach, only stopping as they hit the shoreline. The water felt cool under her toes. Part of her wanted to take a dip.

After a soft moment of silence, her voice broke through the peppered air. "When these barriers come down...would you want to visit Kalos with me?"

Somehow, whenever he spoke her name, her chest was always set ablaze. The warmth of his finger brushing against her cool skin sent an army of shivers down her spine.

"Ah, yeah." Her voice laced itself between a nervous chuckle. Was she unraveling at the seams, or was the wear and tear of today's festivities finally getting to her head? It was hard to tell either way. "I guess I'm just happy you said yes."

Maybe it was stupid to be excited -- he was her boyfriend, of course he would agree. But, still, just hearing those words brought a wave of relief over her heart. Maybe, with him, she'll finally be able to visit again.

nothing needed to be said in return as he isn't expecting anything but her presence. as long as she's here and continues to be here, then he's happy.[break][break]

despite that, his heart still races when she reaches for him before pulling him into a kiss that he so easily returns. the words might not have been said but he interprets her actions as a response of its own.[break][break]

when he pulls away, a grin stays affixed as he rests his forehead against hers.

Short and sweet, Penelope willed herself to pull away from her own personal addiction. A smile kept itself fixed across her lips as she gently rested her forehead against his.

Maybe this was her answer? Maybe, just maybe, her actions bled more truths than her own words? It was hard to tell.

Scars aren't the easiest to recover from. Even now, years later, the fear and doubts spurred on from those experiences still ran rampant.

Finally, after their moment of peace had faded, and the world flickered back on, Penelope fully untangled herself from her.

"You know," She began, her voice clearer than before, freed from the fragility that moment had called for. "I'm still pissed at you."

Hands bound behind her back, Penelope took a step to their right, widening the gap between them all while an impish smile nestled itself between her cheeks. "It's been almost a week and you still haven't invited me out for drinks."

Just as he would try to answer her little tease, Penelope would lean down far enough to swipe her cupped hand across the water, splashing his legs and lower torso.
