The Azumarill and Delphox walked through the mountain scenery. They spoke, joked, and had a merry ol’ time as they got to know each other. The Delphox had agreed to help recruit some more Pokémon while on the way back to their new trainer.

And as they walked, they came upon a Crobat who sat on the ground. Eyes closed in contemplation. The Azumarill immediately walked in front of it, waving its arms to see if it would respond. It did not. The Delphox then poked it with its magical stick. Still no response. Or so they thought at first, but then it chittered in its Crobat language, asking why they were interrupting its meditation.

Azumarill explained that they had little reason but curiosity, and then asked why it was meditating. Crobat replied that it had seen humans doing this, and was interested. But it could not quite figure it out. And then an Epiphany was granted to the Delphox. It then suggested that perhaps if the Crobat joined the team of a Human trainer, then surely it would acquire a deeper understanding of it.

The Crobat looked thoughtful for a moment and then agreed, joining the merry band as they would continue on their way.

Meanwhile, Elinor listened to Gabriel’s words as she turned her gaze to the Pyroar. She gave her fellow member of the council a nod and headed towards the Alpha-Pyroar. She made sure to follow Gabriel’s words to the letter as she approached the leader intending to introduce herself. Knowing well the dangers a Pokémon could pose if provoked.

as Elinor Anderson approaches aurum, he turns a heavy, curious gaze onto her. the massive lion lifts a shaggy head up, until it's nearly even with midsection.

then, suddenly, unleashes a light NOBLE ROAR in her direction. it echoes off the walls, but anyone in the vicinity could tell he was holding back.

whether or not it surprises her, gabriel... chuckles. it's heavy, by design, and the amusement is short lived.

"apologies, elinor. a little... welcome-aboard hazing." with a flick of his wrist in the alpha-lions's direction, it lays back down in a huff of heated hair.

Elinor introduced herself to the Aurum. She felt its gaze upon her and made sure to do as she had been informed. And yet, she felt cold dreadful sweat emerge when the noble roar washed over her. While she had expected some form of test, she had not known what form it would take. Still, the expectation allowed her to keep her surprise to a minimum, perhaps even barely noticeable in contrast to her well-controlled composure.

Still, as she returned to Gabriel’s side. She felt her lungs heaving for air as adrenaline coursed through her blood, she wiped away the few droplets of sweat that had begun to form on her forehead. “No need to apologize. I’d be a poor member of the council if I couldn’t handle something like that.” She commented.

Meanwhile, the Group of Pokémon which now contained a Crobat continued on their way toward Elinor’s location. Though as if space had been warped, it took much longer than before, or perhaps the Azumarill had merely not noticed how far away it had gotten.

Whatever the case, the group stumbled upon a Seviper in the direst of problems. It had somehow gotten stuck in between two giant rocks. One might wonder how that came to be. Though the how’s and why’s did not matter to Aatos the Azumarill. All too willing to help, a glittering silver Aura appeared around the Pokémon as it grabbed one of the boulders and pushed it away, letting the Seviper out.

Gratefully the Seviper decided to follow the group to wherever they were going. And while doing so, Azumarill began to regale the bunch with tales of Elinor’s daring do.

the hazing was, by comparison to his own, light. but, they'd moved on from such trivial things in the decades since.

a mare trots in, ignoring the many predators and threats that line the cavern. they too, in-turn, ignore her. they would struggle to catch a beast as fast as this anyways.

gabriel, on the other hand, approaches it with a disposition that lacks no confidence. he stops, waits for the mares response to his presence, and approaches with a gentle hand to coax her cream-colored fur.

Was this perhaps a case of an Endless corridor mountain path? It certainly seemed like it, for the group continued traversing the rocky terrain.

It didn’t take long for the group to find yet another Pokémon. This time it was a Chimchar who sat upon the ground, sniveling. It had scratched something long and curvy on the ground. Azumarill looked at the drawing and realized that it was a depiction of a familiar fruit.

Ever concerned with a crying fiery monkey, the Azumarill asked what was wrong. To which the Chimchar regaled it with a tale of how its brethren had stolen its banana and left it to die of starvation. That was half an hour ago. Almost dying from hunger, the Chimchar confessed that it would do anything for fruit. To which the Azumarill was quick to offer her a spot in their group with the promise of food when they ever got out of this space loop.

Meanwhile, Elinor was offered a question while Gabriel made friends with the equine. She pondered the question for a moment. “I still need to get used to it all, but I think the transition is going as well as I could have hoped for,” Elinor replied with a polite smile. “But I am all ears if you have any advice that might help.”

His advice though limited was very wise. She would have to remember it for it would surely do her good.

Alas, it seemed their time would be cut short. Gabriel would have to return to his work. To be fair, she ought to do the same. “It’s been a pleasure.” She Elinor replied as Gabriel gathered his pack of lions.

“And will do.” She acknowledged. His experience would be valuable in the times to come in dealing with the Meteor, any ULTRA BEAST invaders, or enemies crawling from ULTRA SPACE WORMHOLES. But those were worries for another time.

The merry band of Pokémon finally found their way back to Elinor, with surprise plastered upon her face did she greet the new members of her team before heading home.
