Duraludon stalked the hills inside the cave. Between that and the roar of the falls, Casey was nearly rocked to sleep. He always came here when under pressure. Bathing nude in the pool at the bottom of the lake had him as close as he could be to the innocence of being a newborn. So when a shadow in the door, an unmistakable shape stood there, he hastily swam ashore and started to put his jewelry and basketball shorts on.

“Are you here to kick back too, or is this work?”

He said with a smirk, before moving to approach him. To approach the mature, stoic Theo. He peered into those eyes, those eyes that made him look every one of his thirty-six years. Casey offered him from one pocket that strawberry nicotine vaporizer he’d seen earlier, pinched between two fingers in an outstretched hand as if it were a cigarette.

Duraludon ran into trouble right away. A fish lunging at it from the falls, with quite the attitude. The thing introduced itself with a Psywave, a wave meant to disorient. Despite being ineffective, it did quite a bit of damage. Duraludon responded with Metal Burst, shedding its damaged outer skin and launching the hot metal as a projectile.

“It’s strawberry. I have a blackberry one with me too, if the coil dies on that one.”

He said, tilting his head and watching Theo accept it, so close to the water. He wasn’t concerned or anything… but Casey walked away for a second. He didn’t bring swim trunks, but he wanted to lay in the water. Without exposing himself. He resolved this by sitting closer to the falls, hoping the mist glancing off the surface of the water would obscure his body.

”I used to come here all the time, when I got all worked up and didn’t know what to do. Used to see Salamance take flight for the first time.”

[attr="class","bbb"]before his barraskewda can get a good swim in, it's lifted out of the water by alakazam's PSYBEAM. obviously frustrated, barraskewda turns and launches itself in an AQUA JET only to CRUNCH after. the alakazam falls right into a pokeball.

"it's interesting."

theo holds onto it for now which he assumes is okay as casey's drifted away.

"are you here now because you're worked up, then?"

Duraludon was then ambushed by a Ducklett? He couldn’t help but chase the thing, with Ducklett staying just out of reach. Ducklett eventually did a U turn and opened with Aqua Jet, glancing harmlessly off Duraludon. Duraludon opened with Flash Cannon, sending an arcing light throughout the cave.

“I used to come here because the water just melted any doubt off. Used to wonder how things could’ve gone differently, but it doesn’t matter when I get to lay in the pool, and watch the first Flygon of the year take flight..”

He said, glancing aside. Duraludon eventually sent Ducklett down, right into a pile of loose pokeballs in Casey’s shorts.

”Have you ever felt that way?.”

he responds with honesty before turning to look at the approaching duraludon. before it can make its way into the water, theo's barraskewda rushes at it with an AQUA JET that knocks it back. a SLASH later and it stills into a pokeball.

after another drag, he looks back at casey.

"in the position i am, it becomes dangerous to doubt or to second-guess my decisions. it's almost always easier to just accept things for the way they are, and move on."

Duraludon was then ambushed by a Frogadier? Right after getting the Ducklett situation under control? The dragon murmured, producing a sound like a tuning fork. Frogadier opened with Quick Attack, and remained in place for a second. That was enough for Duraludon to get in close and reply with Dragon Claw. The two would be at this for quite some time, exchanging hits and chasing eachother.

“I guess you have to be that way, to make it in the world. It makes me think about our last conversation.”

He said, glancing aside. Duraludon eventually sent Frogadier over the falls, landing in the pile with Ducklett. Casey took a long drag again, the pen flashing a white light all the while. Eventually he held it aside and started talking, sending a thin but wide cloud from his mouth.

”About Cillian Quinn . Wasn’t he in the paper with you a year ago? And… since when was Melody capable of that? Last I remember… I used to chase her and her Eevee around with a spider on a stick.”
