While some people would perhaps be offended by being called an edgelord, Mars can hear the sarcasm in Bryan’s voice, and even if it weren’t obvious, the fact of the matter is that it is difficult to harm the pride of a man who utilises it as if his shield when facing the world. He has an untouchable ego.

”Damn, those are kind of cool though. Maybe I should actually get one.” He laughs, looking at the ocean. With how dark it is tonight, not much can be seen aside from the inky movement of the waves under the moonlight, but with the gentle sounds they make, it’s somehow soothing.

He’s joking, of course, but he does punch Bryan’s arm for his comment about him being “an edgelord and a nerd”. Jokingly and in the way one would do with a friend, of course. 'He would be fine, eventually.' Xerneas says in an extremely calm manner. To him time wasn't a concept that really affected the deity. He lived for centuries already, and continue to do so if the world didn't end as they knew it. [break][break]

Bryan however shot dagger eyes at the deer. What the fuck bro? [break][break]

Regardless, something mars says causes him to raise an eyebrow. In order for the beast to learn of his reason for joining he had to give his own? "Not entirely fair trade now is it? No one cares why I joined, YOU on the other hand..." he says handing the bottle back over to Martin. "Are responsible for a lot of people's well being outside of rocket." [break][break]

He sighs. "My reason for joining rocket isn't there anymore. permanently died with the tree. My sister, Soleil." he says laying back in the sky as Xerneas closed his eyes, this was a story that Bryan had shared with him already. [break][break]

"My parents were both pieces of shit. People turning a blind eye to those in need, my dad was an alcoholic, mom let him beat on her cause she loved him. The works." he tells him "Littleroot is a small town, everyone knew he was a no good bastard but did nothing." [break][break]

"My younger sister Soleil? A beautiful, precious girl who wasn't even given a chance at life. She was terminally ill, in and out of the hospital her entire life. Her only dream was to go on a traditional gym challenge adventure, but in her condition it was impossible. I eventually got in with the wrong crowd, they promised to try and help me with Soleil and thats when jayden cross found me." [break][break]

he stops talking for a moment as he sits up and digs his hand into the sand and lifted it up, letting the grains fall between his fingers as he studied them closely. "I joined rocket to find Xerneas and cure her. Give her the dream she wanted of going on her adventure. But when I finally found Xerneas and we became partners...as if it was a cruel joke by Arceus himself, she died the same day." [break][break]

He stares at his palm "That same night, I tried to burn littleroot to the ground. They all ignored our situation, ignored me when my family tossed me out of my home, ignored the hospital bills that piled up that I had to pay for." he says as he clenches his fist. "The worst of them all was the league, never let me rise to a higher station cause of my history of violence. I was a snot nosed kid angry at the world, who the fuck wouldn't have that problem?" He becomes sad once again. "Worst of all, I had the option of reviving her, with more blue mulch I found. But, there was no way of telling how blue mulch works on people, nor how she'd react to me basically being forced to tell her everything. She'd hate me and I didn't think I could live with that. Now she's gone, gone with the tree where I buried her."
