Crescendo!" she orders as a flurry of cherry blossoms surrounded primarina before firing SPRINGTIDE STORM towards the Gyrados "Joltik, you're on capturing duty." she says as the little bug starts to scuttle over, using his tiny size to try and sneak his way over to Theo for a STRING SHOT.

the mightyena gets thrown a distance away from the strong winds as kyle huddles next to the nearest sturdy thing he can find.

"it's called synergy," he tells melody. "you get bonus points if you combo moves that go well with each other, and in this case, style."

light-hearted banter is used as a coping mechanism. he's not really sure on how to handle apprehending an acquaintance given that he doesn't really have many to replace them with.

it continues all throughout the fight.

"hymn of valor!" it wasn't a musical term this time, but a video game reference.

the mightyena, confused by his trainer's commands, gets up from the ground and just starts to release a menacing snarl towards the gyarados. it wasn't flashy, but it lowers the efficiency of the gyarados' move.

SPRINGTIDE STORM and SNARL prove to be an effective combination of loud and disturbing noises. gyarados roars, fighting through the pain only to lash out in anger with a POWER WHIP that looks to knock all of them back.[break][break]

as theo finds another pokeball, the STRING SHOT hits him, sticky webs now splattered all over his arm and leg. but it doesn't stop him from cracking the pokeball open.[break][break]

banette comes out TAUNTING before wrapping a PSYCHIC around the joltik to fling it right back at melody.

The retaliation against them both seemed to be effective. [break][break]

Her primarina sent flying away from the power whip as she was weak against the grass type attack, melody ducks underneath as the primarina would have slammed into her if she hadn't. On top of that the banette is sent out and sends the bug flying towards melody as well, thankfully she manages to catch the bug in her hands as the tiny little creature would have been missing for quite some time if she hadn't [break][break]

Melody frowns, how irritating. She'd have to actually try. "Joltik!" she orders as she flung the bug forward with her own throwing strength. "Discharge!" she says as primarina was far enough away from the battle to not get hit by it. Surely Kyle would be able to dodge the attack right?...Right?

melody's pokemon is eating up all the hits, which was good.

kyle takes the chance to click his tongue, taking the attention of his mightyena, and then motioning towards the shipment with the slightest movement of his chin.

it sprints as it leaves the fight, going for theo's men over his pokemon. it blends in the shadows, and with its nimble movements, manages to take it while the fight takes up most of their attention.

a timely thief takes something shiny out of them-- keys for both the delivery truck and the warehouse.

kyle looks at the fight, all while the mightyena waddles back to his trainer with the ring of keys on his mouth.

the added distance helps theo evade the DISCHARGE, but as he's busy doing so, he doesn't notice how easily the mightyena slips by like a THIEF to steal their keys.[break][break]

he can do no more than sigh.[break][break]

"forget the truck. get out of here."[break][break]

his grunts move, attempting to scatter and flee. theo will fend off the two leaguers as best he can while backing up himself.[break][break]

the flung joltik is met with a SHADOW BALL while gyarados' FLAMETHROWER pours across the space between them, painting the night market shades of crimson.

The discharge proves to be useful as it at least bought time for Kyle's mightyena to steal the keys from Theo. "Nice one.
she compliments him as the mightyena trots back, however in those few moments he retaliates, the shadow ball sending her pokemon flying again. He's knocked out in the air and melody waits for him to land before recalling him into his ball. [break][break]

As she was about to retaliate, Theo proves to be the faster one as a flame thrower cuts the field into two, the crimson flames causing them to be cut off from Theo. "No! Primarina handle it!" she orders as the primarina starts to try and douse the fire, but it seems like some of the loose boxes in the area caught on fire as well as it started to spread out of control.

at least melody's water-type attack lessens the blow.

with the rest of theo's men retreating, kyle whistles, and motions for the rest of the squad to move in. he takes the megaphone and communicates with the admin.

"let's not waste any more time and just go now," he tells the criminal. "we know you're just going to teleport away anyways, and we need to deal with this fire anyways before it gets out of control."

that's where it will all end anyways. should theo try to stay, melody's just going to pressure his pokemon enough for kyle to act accordingly for a capture anyways.

as melody keeps theo in bay, kyle guides the rest of the squad to cut the flames off away from the line of warehouses wasting resources at this crisis should be the last thing in their priority list.
