Why was he so far out, far away from the familiar haunts that he called ‘home’?

There was only one thing to it—

The loud fluttering of wings that cut through the air. Mmm, it was like something had tipped off the unusually-large Flying-type population to start coming out en masse, and here they were.

not running into the other person just yet, theo focuses on the noctowl that appears overhead, darting out from behind cover only to land on another branch not too far away.[break][break]

then, it looks down only to SKY ATTACK theo and his milotic. he hadn't intended on battling it but it seems as though he must now.[break][break]

DISARMING VOICE pushes it away only for a pokeball to smack it.

It didn’t take too long for the quiet to be shattered by loud, angry chittering—this time a Mankey was caught in the middle of a battle with a Rookidee. Wait, a Rooki—

While he already had a Corvisquire of his own, he was actually looking for a male Rookidee, because his own Corvisquire was a bit of… he could only smirk for a few moments as the Rookidee literally yeeted the Mankey out of the way with a Drill Peck—

Only for a pair of electrified fangs suddenly screaming down from the sky as the Salamence had spotted the aggressor, using a well-timed Thunder Fang to catch the Rookidee by surprise.

A loud screeching noise ripped through the space once more, however another Pokéball saved it from being electrocuted alive.

The next thing that would catch his attention would actually make him come to a stop just to squint and make sure he wasn’t just seeing shit—

“Oh, perfect,” he muttered to himself under his breath as he brought out the battered bird whistle and blew one singular note into it.

This time, up in the sky, the blue-plumed Braviary would let out a powerful screeching noise, and then suddenly drop an avalanche of boulders aimed at the Trumbeak, who squawked out of alarm and retaliated with a Mirror Move!

Why, that nasty little—

Two avalanches of boulders would rip through the aerial space, each trying to clobber the other into submission—however his Braviary was smarter, weaving through the boulders and catching the Trumbeak off-guard with a surprise Aerial Ace, causing it to scream and careen down towards the ground.

Before it would come a bird pancake, another Pokéball would save it from becoming just a dead bird.

“Kyou, you might want to be a little gentler with those!” he shouted as the Braviary let out a victory screech before returning to the skies.

the sounds of battle calls to him, so he follows, his water-type leading the way until he eventually catches a glimpse of a wild trumbeak.[break][break]

when the battle is over, theo steps out into the open.[break][break]

At least, the moment the Trumbeak’s Pokéball came clattering his way he was able to quickly scoop it up—but not before realizing he wasn’t alone.

“Oh? Hi there,” he said in greeting the moment he stood up and began spinning the occupied marble between his fingers.

Somewhere in the undergrowth, a Hitmonchan stood waiting—but for what?
