[attr="class","skullbody"]When Greyson kicked down the door, Isaac expected the usual League procedure. Bust in, flash a badge, tell Isaac (or, in this case, his charming. one-eyed, steely decoy) that he had the right to a peaceful surrender, and then settle things in a fair and honorable battle.[break][break]
What Isaac got instead was the apocalypse knocking on his doorstep. Through the cracks in the smashed-open door, Isaac could see Rocket grunts groaning in pain as they laid shackled to the wall. Greyson had showed up with a small army in tow, not even saying a word before unleashing hell in trade. And what a hell he had chosen.[break][break]
The wind of the Hurricane drew in the lingering flames of the Eruption and the flurries of the Blizzard. It sucked in the sand of the Sandstorm, then wreathed it in the biting shadows of the Shadow Storm. The result was basically Captain Planet in his emo phase, and it bore down on Isaac's team like the fist of an angry god.[break][break]
Kurze, who had just dramatically turned around and flung his jacket away for the big reveal, found his one good eye widening in shock as the attack came hurtling towards him. The poor Bisharp didn't even stand a chance; the maelstrom sucked him in, kicked his ass seven ways to sunday, and sent him flying towards a nearby shelf. If he had any fight left in him, the Spirit Shackle that promptly pinned his body and soul alike would make sure he had no means of showing it.[break][break]
Naturally, Isaac's triad of ground types was shaken like martini night at the Howling after seeing this. They looked at each other, as if to debate their options, when Kilimanjaro shook his head and charged right into the fray. He lowered his head, let out a low bellow, and decided to fight nature with
NATURE POWER. A swirling maelstrom of his own, weaved of fire, ice, and lightning, shot from his body in a desperate attempt to hold Greyson's Hurricane back.[break][break]
The Dudes didn't look this gift camel in the mouth. They bailed without a second thought,
DIGging a hole through the ruined storeroom like their lives depended on it. Duster, despite the maelstrom starting to sap at his energy and bite as his body, wasn't so convinced. He desperately reached for Kilimanjaro, but found his generosity greeted by a Water Shuriken right to the head. Gritting his teeth in fury at his failure to intervene, Duster leaped down into The Dudes' hole, another Shuriken pegging his shoulder as he fled.[break][break]
The remaining shuriken went right for Kilimanjaro. Each attack sinking into his side caused his bellows to become louder, sharper, and more mournful, while also weakening the force of his competing attack. He had been able to hold back the move long enough to spare The Dudes, and let Duster escape with only moderate harm, but he was rapidly losing the energy needed to protect himself. Finally, his attack petered out, the maelstrom sealing the deal on what the assassins' Water Shuriken had started.[break][break]
Front to back, side to side, Greyson's attack would have achieved its desired result. With the exception of many tossed bosses and two fainted Pokemon, the storeroom looked cleared. However, up and down were a different story. From below, The Dudes were traveling diligently towards the vibration of Greyson's retreating footsteps. A big Dragonite had been the source of this hurricane. It was the only other Pokemon Greyson seemed to have on him, after the Tyrantrum had fallen. Maybe, if they could take it out, victory would be theirs! Behind them, an injured and sullen Duster limped in pursuit. Whereas The Dudes saw potential victory, Duster saw a chance to get even.[break][break]
The merry Dugtrio tunneled up to the source of the vibrations, then burst out from beneath the ground. Their attack would ultimately be ineffectual against the Dragonite, but the sudden surprise of their pop-up and boisterous call of "Trio, Trio, Trio!" might have been all they needed. As they retreated, Duster swirled his bone, ice and snow once more conjuring around its tip. The resulting
BLIZZARD came screaming out of the hole, the tunnel serving as a funnel to direct it towards Dragonite from below.[break][break]
Back by the magnetic crane, Isaac was having a pretty bad time. The maelstrom, while mostly petered out by then, had torn into the machine as a last little "fuck you" from Greyson. He was mostly just shaken up, but the crane's structural integrity was weakened and the communication lines to Rocket command were fried. A third of his team laid fainted and another third had gone on a suicide run into enemy lines. Any grunts who hadn't been KO'd by Greyson were now fleeing in droves, heading for the sea as if Kyogre was offering free hugs. His last gambit, quite literally, hung in the skies above the battlefield, and they only had one chance of making things right.[break][break]
Isaac would just have to put his love and faith in Kiryu, as he always had.[break][break]
Isaac guided the magnetic crane's controls, swinging it back and forth to build up momentum. He could feel the machine's grinds of protest, the sudden swings between sticky and loose controls, the shower of sparks that seared him right through his gloves when he pushed it a little too hard. It just had to hold out a little longer. Just a little longer! Then, as it reached the apex of its swing, Isaac smashed the release button with a hand wreathed in Infinity Energy.[break][break]
Isaac's hopes and his desperation alike flooded from the ancient bracelet around his wrist, pouring into the crane and flowing along the wire. The sparks flickering along its surface turned rainbow colored as the magnet finally disengaged, sending a brightly glowing Kiryu tumbling through the air. Long pronged launched back from her shoulders, like the wings of an avenging angel. Metal plates sprouted across her stony body, forming the armor she would use to protect her tamer and her friends. Her helmet and spines grew larger, broader, more distinctive, and powerful bracers expanded around her arms.[break][break]
It was these bracers that hit the ground as she landed before Greyson's team. The light of Mega Evolution dispersed from Kiryu's body and flowed into the ground, the Aggron putting all of her might into an
EARTHQUAKE from on high. With momentum, gravity, and Infinity Energy on her side, just how much destruction would her move cause? Perhaps it would even flush Greyson's assassins out of hiding.[break][break]
Judging by the steely glare she fixed on Greyson, she was just waiting to find out.[break][break]
TEAL DEER:[break]
The Maelstrom wracks up a hell of a KO count, decimating Kurze, forcing Kilimanjaro to try and hold it back, hurting Duster quite solidly, and damaging Isaac's magnetic crane before dissipating.[break]
A Spirit Shackle ensures no shenanigans can get Kurze back into the fight.
KO![break]
Water Shuriken hurt Kilimanjaro badly so the Maelstrom can finish the job.
KO![break]
The Dudes Dig underground, Duster reluctantly diving into their tunnel.[break]
The Dudes' Dig is ineffective against Dragonite, but creates an opening Duster can aim a Blizzard at Dragonite through.[break]
Isaac uses the last of the crane's power to yeet Kiryu at Greyson's Team.[break]
She Mega Evolves in midair, using an Earthquake fueled by gravity, momentum, and her Mega Evolution power boost to try and muster a counter-offensive.
