He looks up from his notes and hands them to someone else to handle as he finally gives the young man his attention. [break][break]

Though his annoyed frown becomes an amused smile as he hears what they're here for. "Ah I see so you're answering a call," he nods as he motions for the other to follow him out of the labs with a whistle three different Riolu follow suit. [break][break]

"So who are you? And do you understand what's being studied at all?" he's curious to see how knowledgeable the other is.

"If you insist, Gamma 1 you're free to do what you want," he calls out to the shadow pokemon, "Just remembered that you are being studied," the doctor reminds and the Shadow pokemon just smirks as he gets called and goes forward. Excited to fight the dragon.

From its mouth it emits a SHADOW MIST to ensure escaping wouldn't be an option for the Gabite before it rushes in with a ROCK SMASH aimmed at the other's head.

SHADOW MIST blends into the SANDSTORM, mixing in to darken the area around them which makes it even more difficult for cian to see. like usual, he has to trust his pokemon to get the job done.[break][break]

"all yours, lip bite!"[break][break]

coming up with a name for the gabite right on the spot, cian watches its form blend away into its SAND VEIL. it's what allows it to evade the ROCK SMASH only to SLASH into riolu's side before swiping its tail with a DRAGON RUSH to send it away.

While it's small structure allows it to evade the SLASH by ducking under, but the DRAGON RUSH strikes true. Though rather than being knocked back Gamma 1 holds onto the tail before drawing back a fist to strike with ICE PUNCH up close.[break][break]

Whether or not it hit would have the Riolu grinning as with their icey fist it felt like it would have the advantage.

ICE PUNCH connects, sending shards of ice across gabite's rough skin to send the dragon reeling. but it grits its teeth, standing its ground only to return a swift SLASH across riolu's body.[break][break]

and then, it disappears back into the SANDSTORM.

Again the cowardly dragon hides, but it doesn't plan to let it keep it's evasion up. Once more it releases a SHADOW MIST to flow into the sand around them. Using the mist to help him sense where the dragon was. Gamma 1 shakes off the slash, doing its best to wait for the proper moment before diving in to use BULLET PUNCH.

somehow, BULLET PUNCH lands even in the thick of the SANDSTORM. gabite falls to the ground, defeated, and the SANDSTORM quickly fades after that.[break][break]
