After a long workout and cooldown run, there was nothing more Sy liked to do than go for a swim. Swimming, as a matter of fact, was one of the only exercises that worked almost all the muscles in your body!

It was also fun, which Sy needed after his less than stellar swimsuit contest performance, and also all of the chaos and terror which was slowly building in the funeral procession towards the apocalypse. Like history’s worst orgasm.

Sy slipped his toes into the warm ocean water. Beside him, Champagne slipped over the silt and rocks, smoothed by the sea tides, curling around him before sliding out into deeper water. In contrast, Columbina leaped clear of the water and curled up on a rock to dry off, beautiful teal hair shimmering in the sunshine.

The sight that was going on may have been one for the ages. Within the water, was a man, who looked like he was walking on water! What on EARTH?! Nope, it was not the case at all! From under the mans feet, emerged a tyrantrum. It was weird to see a rock type comin gout of the water, but the t-rex seemed as happy as a clamperl as it brought it's trainer out of the water.

"Soot, you done?" Came from Pluto, his voie filled with laughter. The t-rex bellowed at him, telling him no! He was not done with this water! He was enjoying it! "Well can you put me on the beach then? I'm getting pruny." Huffing, he reluctantly let him down on the be beach, turning tail after to dive into the water and send a wave crashing over the startled Pluto.

Now a soaking wet mess, white hair dangling in his face, he pulled his hair out of his eyes with his two index fingers. "You're so grounded." This exchange must have been hilarious to onlookers.

Columbina made a surprised chirp, alerting Sy to the presence of-- someone rising out of the water like the friggin’ birth of Aphrodite? He squinted into the sun, thinking maybe he’d overexerted himself and was hallucinating, but his physical check-in to all his other parts felt fine.

But then the big dinosaur also emerged from beneath the water and Sy didn’t know whether to be relieved he wasn’t seeing things or be more confused. The noble reptilian rock steed deposited his trainer on the beach before turning to lunge back into the water, sending a wave cascading up over them, the ripples of which sent tepid water lapping at Symon’s ankles.

“There’s something you don’t see every day!” Sy said to the dinosaur-riding stranger. Columbina slid off the rocks to come investigate, while Champagne approached the Tyrantrum in the water. “How’d you get them to like the water?”

A curious Murkrow swept low to investigate, landing on Sy’s shoulder without a care in the world. Sy startled slightly at the crow’s arrival, but when he reached up to cautiously stroke its head, it didn’t peck him or fly away.

Had Pluto expected other people to be here? No. Should other people be at a beach on a nice hot day? Yes. So logically, he should have assumed someone would be here to see these crazy antics. It still caught him off guard! Jolting, he turned to stare at Sy- and oh boy was he staring.

This man was down right gorgeous. Flabbergasted and stunned, he stood there with his mouth open. Blinking several times, before shaking his head. "Oh! Sorry, that's Soot." Giving a bit smile, he waved at them excitedly. "I'm Pluto, and he's always liked water... or well, that's what my husband tells me. He was a gift from him." Honestly he had no idea why Soot liked water so much. Maybe he should be named Godzilla instead, with how much he liked it.

As another pokemon approached, Soot blinked at them under the water, before bringing his head up and out and snorting at them. Flailing those tiny arms to splash water towards them. It was rare Soot was in such a good playful mood, usually he was quick to growl at anyone getting to close- probably because Pluto wasn't actually in the water for him to hoard and hide.

"What's your name?" Pluto finally got a chance to ask, after some, totally not gawking stares.

Watching the spread of emotions go over the stranger’s face after their very impressive entrance was comical enough to make Sy laugh-- a little snort that he played off by rubbing a hand over his throat and hoping to god it looked more like a cough.

“Oh, that’s kinda cool,” Sy said, looking back out over the water where Champagne was making singing, crooning noises at the Tyrantrum, trying to figure out just what the hell was going on here. “Hell of a gift.”

He wondered if he should get nagi miwa a gift. Maybe not a giant dinosaur, but… something comparable?

Champagne trilled and pulled a looping figure-eight in the water, swimming circles around the Tyrantrum-- an invitation to play.

“I’m Symon, this is Columbina,” he said, gesturing to the Primarina slipping up on the sand next to him, “and that’s Champagne. What brings you out on your noble steed today?”

Disturbed by the rambunctious Pokemon in the water, a Froakie hopped up on the beach, taking shelter between Sy’s legs. It wrapped one slimy webbed foot around his ankle, cowering there. Sy didn’t move to push it away.

Luckily, Pluto was to embarrassed by his own gawking to catch the little snort Symon tried to hide. Looking at the two pokemon he introduced, his eyes went wide. "Ohh, they're so beautiful! Such lovely names." Pluto wanted to pet them, or give them treats, such pretty pokemon!

"Haha, well, my husbands pretty protective. I never caught a pokemon before so he gave me most of my team as gifts. Or we found them." A little shrug; most of his pokemon were rescues. "But we're here so Soot can blow off some steam! He gets really rowdy at home alone with no one his size to play with."

At the invite to play, Soot took it! He dove into the water, going to swim around the water-type with glee, before popping his head back up and splashing around in pure, obvious delight. His waves however, made a little Horsea wash up on shore. Pluto noticed, scurrying over to scoop it up. "Oh you poor thing!" He would make sure they were safe!

"What about you? Here for your pokemon?"

Sy grinned down at his Primarina, who had stepped forward in order to be properly fawned upon. His own affinity for the Fairy-type was apparent throughout his small, but growing, collection of Pokemon. “Thanks,” he said, then, “what? The names are my idea,” when Columbina gave him a withering look.

“Yeah, I can only imagine.” Sy looked out at the dinosaur splashing in the water, again amazed that he seemed so comfortable in an element so counterintuitive to his own.

One of Soot’s dark-blue waves crashed up on the beach, and it turned out to not just be a wave, but also, a Walrein. The tusked Pokemon bellowed her displeasure at their disturbance. Columbina turned her glare on the wild Pokemon, eyes flashing silver, and an orb of iridescent light crashed into the Walrein, stunning it slightly. Sy tossed a Pokeball, figuring it was better that then let it run amok.

“Yeah. Or, well, they’re here for me,” he said-- the little Froakie retrieved the Pokeball and brought it back to him. “I like to have a cool down swim after a workout. The girls like to come along.”

Champagne continued to do loops and spirals around Soot, in the water, leaping up and diving elegantly through the waves he produced.

Pluto listened, nodding his head. It made sense some people were such beach funs. It wasn't his go-to, he much preferred just traveling vs the actual end location.

"Well they're great names regardless." Smiling and beaming, such a happy and positive boy he tried to be. Though he saw the ruckus Soot was making, so he called out over the water. "Watch it! Don't upset everyone out there splashing around you dingus." Laughing as Soot popped his head up, huffing at him, then going back to swimming with his new friend.

"Work out, huh? Surprised people don't follow you here form there."

Sy laughed, a genuine, head-tosser.

"I run pretty fast. Tends to shake the hangers on.”

He didn’t like to be boastful. Pluto definitely wasn’t bad looking, himself. If he hadn’t already mentioned he was married, Sy would definitely be interested.

Well, that and if he wasn’t hopelessly in love with someone else. Oops.

A Soot-formed tidal wave rolled back against the shore and deposited a Drizzile on the sand, laying on its back and staring up at the sky. Sy hit it with a Pokeball, and it barely reacted.

“Aw, let him be a dingus. It isn’t hurting anyone.”

That made Pluto do an only snort when he heard Symon call Soot a dingus as well. It was good to see people be goofy, it brought a huge smile to his face- and it was lucky for Symon he was taken, otherwise Pluto might have awkwardly flirted, gave up, and ran come blushing.

"Well if you're sure, seems he's bringing you a lot to take home."
