Another day, another hunt. And like always, the trainer had his beloved hell hound by his side. Her nose was legendary, able to find anything with it once she found a scent to track. Azula lifted her nose into the cool fall air, nostrils flared to take in the scents in the breeze.

Within minutes, the canine found a scent to follow. Maverick nodded to her, following her without a word. The man already knew what he wanted, the trick was finding them in this vast wilderness of the safari zone. He could only hope to get lucky this round.

As per usual, Azusa’s keen sense of smell caught a scent swiftly. She followed the scent, all the way into the tall grass where the pokemon laid in hiding. The canine bared her teeth, emitting a growl as she tried to get the pokemon to reveal itself. And after a short while, the wild treecko popped out of the grass.

A brow rose, reaching into his pocket for an empty sphere. Without a second thought, the burnt scarred man tossed the ball at the pokemon. It hit, sucking the creature in and closing behind it. The ball fell to the earth, wiggling in the grass. “Can you get that for me when its done Azula?” Mav asked his canine, “thanks.” The canine let out a series of grumbles.

It was only when Azula returned to him with the pokeball did the pair move onto the next one. The massive six foot seven canine spent a good twenty minutes tracking down the next scent, stumbling upon a wild torchic along the way. The wild pokemon chirped at them, running around in circles rather fast. A brow rose on the man’s face, noticing that this one seemed speeder then normal.

“Sure,” he told himself, snatching an empty sphere from his pocket and tossing it at the creature when it wasn’t looking. The ball smacked in beside the head, sucking it in and closing swiftly after. It fell to the ground, wiggling as it tried to fight the capture. The canine let out a low growl mixed with a grumble, finding that pokemon a waste of their time.

Several minutes later, the hellhound finally found the source of the scent she was tracking. However what came from it, was one less desirable from her human. Maverick frowned, eyeing the mudkip that slept along the waters edge. He already had two and honestly, he really didn’t want another one. Despite this though, the man still pondered to himself for a moment on whether or not he wanted it.

“Nah,” he mumbled to himself, motioning with a nod for his beloved hell hound to follow. It just wasn’t what he was looking for. Turning to head in the direction of the caves in the safari zone, the paired made their way through the wilderness of the safari zone on the hunt for another pokemon to capture.

Maverick could never explain his draw to dragons. He always assumed his draw to dark types were because of how they look and like him, they remain in the shadows so to speak. Fire types was easy, to concur his fear over fire. And canines, he blamed Azula for that. But dragons, there was something so interesting about them that he just couldn’t resist.

This included the wild bagon they happened to cross paths with in the safari zone. It eyed him just as much as he eyed it. The burnt scarred man cursed under his breath, giving into the temptation to capture the baby beast. Launching the ball throw that air at the dragon, the sphere hit its mark and sucked the creature in. Well… only one left after that.

The pair spent the last hour searching for the final pokemon. And if it wasn’t for its off color, they would have passed right by it. It was actually Maverick who spotted the creature. The shiny eevee was curled up in a ball behind a rock. Doing his best to ne sneaky, Maverick tip toed closer until he was sure he had a clean shot.

Maverick tossed the last ball, smacking the eevee beside the head. It stunned it, drawing the creature in before he could even fully wake up. The ball fell to the ground, wiggling only once before the click rang out. A smirk spread across his lips, finally feeling spending all that money was work it. Now to collect his prize and leave.
