Character: Callan Young

Day 1- Intro
Callan Young is the co-founder of Teravolt with Adrian Malcolm and a member of the Hoenn Elite Four.

Day 2: Starter
His Mudkip, Kibble, who is now a Swampert and is generally retired from Pokemon battling.

Day 3: Childhood
A Mauville resident of a lower-middle class family. His father was an electrician and his mother worked part time as a writer. He spent his earlier years in a small time delinquent gang known as the Mauville Manectrics while simultaneously fostering a love for pokemon battles and music. he stopped his delinquent activities at around 16 years of age when he began to focus on a career in music that did not take off. Family life was never good for Callan, and so he distanced himself when he was able to and made most of his earlier life in service industry work and playing at gigs when he could.

Day 4: Best Friend
Callan typically distances himself from everyone, though he has made great friends with people forged through fire, including Laurence Anderson and Elinor Anderson, who have supported him throughout the entirety of his career.

Day 5: Talent
To no surprise, Callan is a fantastic composer, music producer and talented in both vocals and many different musical instruments in various genres of music, mostly in jazz and classical. Though his favourite instrument is by far the electric guitar, he has also dabbled in violins, trumpets, drums and piano. He is synesthetic, being able to incorporate elements of what he has learned through other areas of his life into new skills and ways of interpreting information. Callan is also talented at understanding his Pokemon and fostering their growth.

Day 6: Favorite Pokemon
While Callan tries to be impartial, his favorite Pokemon to him is his Yamper, Lady.

Day 7: Free Space!

Day 9: First Victory
Callan realized his talent for battling at an early age, though never went for the gym challenge. His first few victories were probably around the age of ten, where he received Kibble, his Mudkip.


Day 10: Gym
Callan's gym is the Lilycove Gym, which is in the process of retirement since his appointment to the Elite Four. Though he remains a gym leader until at least eight positions have been filled in for the Pokemon League.

Day 11: Region

Day 13: Family

Callan's childhood family life was not pleasant. His father was a Mauville electrician who was surpassed by technological advancements, rendering his work obsolete. His mother waited at restaurants and moved from job to job whilst pursuing a writing career and never managed to land her publishing deal. When Callan came into the picture, funds became hard: Schooling was a drain, they had another mouth to feed, and Callan himself was not a particularly well behaved child. Abuse became rampant by the time he was six to seven years old, first with yelling matches between his mother and father, then proceeding to escalate into physical abuse. Callan would often put on a set of earbuds and a Walkman to fall asleep to block out the screeching matches.

Callan is also a divorcee, having married another aspiring music artist during a gig at one of Slateport's downtown bars, Callan became her guitarist as they went from show to show in an attempt to build something together alongside a couple of his friends. However, the band idea fell through, despite talent, the couple found it difficult to make a significant break into the industry. When Callan's daughter was born, Callan gave up on his dream of becoming a musician, and used what funds he had saved up to instead build a bar. Despite difficulties, Callan's own experiences with abuse made him cognizant to never hurt his own child, despite her growing up with the same behavioral difficulties as his own. When he was finally divorced, he too fell into alcoholism, mirroring much of his own father's addictive personality traits.

Day 14: Job

Callan is a member and co-founder of Teravolt, a hardcore rock band that has hit mainstream appeal. He is also a member of both the Elite Four and a member of the AQUA Initiative.

Day 15: Free Space!

Callan is a practicing Arceist, although he does not make his faith a core part of his personality, he believes in the guidance of higher faith and follows its tenets when he can.

Day 16: Favorite Food

Despite the online memes, Callan's favorite food is spam and rice.

Day 17: Fear

There are two major fears that drive Callan. First is his drive to manifest his talents to the world stage out of fear that his daughter will forget about him as her father. Second is the fear of not being able to leave behind any sort of legacy once he dies, being forgotten in the infinity of time. Having experienced the fleeting fortunes of his life after working himself to the bone, he fears that the light will fade too fast before he has made some kind of impact on the world.

Day 20: Present

Life is good, meteno 99943 notwithstanding. Callan is at the apex of his career, he has good friends around him, he makes money from his passion, and he has a newfound drive to protect what he has in the future.

Day 21: Ambitions
"In 1976, Eddie Van Halen innovated on the use of a Stratocaster with a Humbucker, in 1977, he brought the two handed arpeggio to the mainstream media. In amplification, he jury-rigged a VARIAC light dimmer to substitute for an amplifier to create a guitar sound that people wondered for years how he managed to make. In doing this, he created a renaissance for rock music that last for a half-century, and his contributions to both the art of music and to culture are still felt in your favourite bands and musicians to this day.

Eventually the spotlight fades, what is left behind is your legacy. What will you accomplish for your art, what will you accomplish for your people, that is what you'll be remembered by."

Day 22: Team
Quite a few variations, though he will always attempt to place a Spinda in there somewhere.
