The crack of fire from the lighter broke through the darkness of the streets of Mauville Hills. A scarlet light danced across the Beast’s strong features as she drew the INCENSE up towards her face for a better look. Thankfully, she didn’t have to spend any money on the strange candle. Rumor had it, lighting the wick inside would attract GHOSTS, and she’s always looking for ghosts. If she surrounds herself with them, the ghosts of her past can’t haunt her. They’d just be another face in the crowd.

If only that’s how it worked.

The top of the lighter snapped shut as the soft glow within the incense grew. An eerie smoke filtered through the cracks. Now all she had to do was wait.

Guess it wasn’t a farce. Not long after the incense lit, the air shimmered with the curious energy of a ghost phasing back into their plane to investigate the smoke. The Doublade’s eyes blinked individual, the steel tip of a sword reaching forward to touch the energy that drew it here.

The distraction was enough for Lex’s Dusknoir to creep up from the shadow. Its giant hands reach forward, smothering the unsuspecting ghost with a blast of NIGHT SHADE. It’s enough to weaken the pokemon before Lex throws a pokeball at it, attempting to catch the Doublade.
