Interrupting their little game was a wild Pokemon, a Cofagrius. A large one, threatening in stature, shooting a Mean Look at Hideo and his team. A mean look that Hideo was in no way aware of. Hideo was only aware it was there when his Beheeyem informed him of its presence - and that they had to fight it.

Yet…the Cofagrius didn't launch any attacks at them. It was just standing there, menacingly. Hideo knew not to get close to it, but surely it would've tried some attack from where it was? It was just trying to deceive them and scare them off, was it?

With little threat, yet forced to fight, a shadow extended from his disguised Zoroark, the Shadow Sneak knocking the Cofagrius down - followed by a Psychic from the real Beheeyem tossing the wild Pokemon away.

"Didn't seem that much of a threat," Hideo shrugged. Ah well.

Skipping

The next one was much more direct with its methods.

Hideo's two Pokemon noticed the shadow approaching them. They'd see Phantom Force plenty of times now, and could recognize the attack immediately. There wasn't anything they could do until it emerged, so they could only wait to see which one of them it targeted.

And when the shadow approached one of them, the other gently pulled Hideo away. It meant leaving the other Pokemon to take an attack, but that was the sacrifice they'd have to make to keep Hideo safe.

Yet as the Banette emerged, its attack hit nothing. It had chosen the Zoroark, its deceptive Illusion masking that it was part Normal.

The Banette didn't have long to process the mistake, Bitter Malice striking into it as another Psychic tossed it away from the group.

Skipping

The last Pokemon that arrived was one that was more aggressive, yet more clever: a Hypno, who wouldn’t be stopped or tricked by any deceptive illusions. And it was a hungry Hypno, aiming to feast on their dreams.

Yet she made a simple mistake that she couldn’t have predicted: she tried to focus most of the energy on Hideo, to put him to sleep first and put his Pokemon into a disarray. Yet to actually Hypnotize him, he would have had to see the pendulum swinging from side to side.

This didn’t work for obvious reasons. And while it did make his two Pokemon a bit drowsy, they were still able to fight, and well aware of what the Hypno was doing. Another Shadow Sneak knocked the Hypno off her feet, while a Rock Tomb that came her way stopped her from attacking them any further.

“Rock Tomb might’ve been a bit overkill,” Hideo sighed, recognizing the sound of the attack - yet unaware of the Hypno’s attack. “Think it might be a good idea to get that one checked out. Maybe even keep it around.” He took out a spare Pokemon, advancing towards the KO’d Hypno as his drowsy Pokemon guided him forward.
