The birds suddenly begin to disperse, flying off in every direction. Perhaps you think your method of evading them proved too much for them, but alas your nightmare has only begun. By now the wailing mourners are upon you, and they do not appear how you might think. Draped in black funeral garb, these hobbling corpses scream out in agony as they slowly move forward. Upon spotting you, the lead corpse lets out an agonized cry--and their hobbles turn into a sprint. Can you escape?[break]


  • Roll at least two success: You evade the mourning hoard! Failures for this round do not count toward your Resolve
  • Roll one success or less: The hoard is too fast to out run. You are Eliminated!

HOUSE OF JUMPSCARES
Gavin's heart pounds hard enough he worries the hungry Corvisquire might hear it, but to his relief the fluttering of wings dies down as the horde that had pursued him lose his trail. He'd taken cover in a mausoleum, eyes adjusting to the dark as he waits to ensure the coast is clear.

It's dusty and full of cobwebs; he has to hold in a cough.

Eventually, it gets too much.

Stepping back out into fresh air, breathing deep, there's a tickle in his throat. He coughs.

But it's not birds that find him.

Zombies? Really?

He really needs to quit smoking. His lungs scream for mercy as he turns and bolts in a random direction, caring only to be away from the approaching threat.

Mars had expected them to come after the whole ordeal with the rotting hands, but gods how he had hoped it would at least be ghosts or something like that. At least their outfits are aesthetic, right?

As Mars’ boundless ego often realises: some things are just beneath him.

He turns away from the zombies, he breaks into a sprint, and in his mind, he thinks that at least this is good cardio. He had already gone jogging today, though. Ironically enough, at Mount Pyre, as he always does.

Maybe that’s why he’s so calm about all this: running at a graveyard has become part of his weekly schedule.
