Vivan wasn't sure what to expect. She never experienced combat before and even though she participated in many battles before, she wouldn't consider this a casual battle - losing wasn't an option. Her one relief was that her opponent seemed rather immature and rash. The best way to win was to take advantage of his weakness.

Her quilava faces off with Elio's pyroar, the flames on her back intensifying as she prepares for battle. Vivan's other concern was Elio's gun - she was weaponless and needed to figure out a method on how to deal with his.

With sounds of other battles starting around them, and the quaking of the mountain Vivan signaled her quilava to launch the first attack. "Flame Wheel" Fire flares from Vivan's quilava, a burst of flames rushing towards his pyroar.

Fire against fire was not an ideal situation but for now she would have to make do.

The mafia heir grinned maniacally. This would be an easy fight. A sweep, even. Though a part of him would feel a bit disappointed if this ended too soon. He wanted a challenge! Something to get his blood pumping!

Vivan blinks at the pyroars flamethrower, the intensity of his flames was astonishing. Her quilava takes a direct hit and tumbles backwards crashing into a tombstone. While she was concerned for her pokemon Vivan knew that move wasn't enough to take out her quilava.

Recovering from the flamethrower quilava leaps back towards pyroar to face off against him. A brief relief washes over Vivan and she issues her next attack. "Use Eruption!

The flames on quilava's body flare with the command. As the fire grows larger quilava launchers a geyser of red-orange flames when it's peak buildup is met.

The flames were massive, even at the distance, he was from the battle the fire's heat licked at his skin. It was a raging inferno that ignited brilliantly. Even in the fog, the light reached the tombstones - lighting them up like a misty morning glow at sunrise. [break][break]It was quite beautiful in a haunting way. Though was the least of his concerns at the moment. No, his main concern was watching to see if his pokemon was okay. From the fire stood a singed and slightly worn lion pokemon.

Though hurt, it was not burned being part fire type as it lifted its head and gave a powerful roar. Holding its head held high. Elio couldn't help but smirk, that proud idiot, Iskandar wouldn't go down from a flaming rodent! Instead, the pyroar began to Work Up, preparing for another move - one that could possibly decide this battle. [break][break]

Fire against fire, it was certainly a flashy battle. Vivan knew it wouldn't be ideal to let this continue much longer, a hand covering her mouth as she begins to cough from all the smoke inhalation. It was beginning to look like she misjudged Elio, the younger man seemed rash and impulsive but he maintained a calm demeanor throughout battle.

Victory was beginning to look more uncertain.

She needed to stop the pyroar before he unleashes a move empowered by workup. That was easier said than done, "double edge! " It was a dicey approach but Vivan figured that it would be her best chances of victory.

Quilava recklessly charges at Elio's pyroar tackling it with immense power and speed but also takes heavy recoil damage from the attack, still standing the fire-type is rather wobbly on their feet as he stares down Elio and Pyroar.

Vivan's Quillava's doubl edge collided with the worn and torn pyroar. Elio watched as the worked-up lion collapsed in a heap, unconscious. Shock etched the younger man's features as he ran toward his fallen friend. "ISKANDAR!" He shouted, nestling its head in his arms before pulling out its pokeball and recalling it.

"You did good, buddy." He whispered towards it. Before giving a cold yet burning stare at the woman before him. Whether she could feel the hatred he felt towards her was unknown, but it didn't matter.

He could easily prolong this fight. But worry nibbled at his furious brain. Could she have more pokemon at her beck and call? Did he want to risk that chance? Pyroar was the strongest pokemon he had available, could he really know what the woman had in store? He grits his teeth as his pride warred with his rationality.

In the end, he decided to give in to his rage, and soldier on. "You think this is over? It's not by a long shot." He uttered coldly. Throwing out Victoria his Gabite, the dragon pokemon let out a roar as a Sandstorm kicked up around them. He grinned savagely. "Let's kick this up a notch!"

The rage in his eyes made her blood run cold. She never thought that rocket cared so deeply about their pokemon, given this was her first interaction with the group - there were many unknowns. Flinching at his words, Vivan preferred to end this battle quickly as possible and head towards the primal point.

"You are foolish! Take the defeat and leave." She hopes those words would be enough to drive him away but she's proven wrong. Eyes narrowing when Elio summons his gabite, she is unsure how to act knowing well that Quilavva wouldn't last another battle.

The fire type is suffering greatly in Gabite's rampant sandstorm, unable to attack freely. Vivan watches helplessly and couldn't help wonder if she was crueler than Elio for subjecting her pokemon to cruel treatment.

"You trying to run away? After what you did?!" He roared over the grinding gales of the sandstorm. Elio's clothes and hair were whipping in the turbulent winds, yet he didn't care, even as the grit bit into his soft skin.

He'd get his pound of flesh, one way or another... "Use Sand Tomb!" The Gabite roared in a fury as the sand around them coalesced and constricted in the air, attempting to catch Vivan's Quillava in its grip.

Sand Tomb was particularly cruel to execute. As it trapped its victim in a whirlwind of sand where there was no escape for a short time. As the trainer was forced to watch as their pokemon was harmed with each second that ticked by.

Then again, Elio couldn't find it in himself to care. As a Mafia Heir and a Team Rocket Grunt, he'd seen his fair share of evil. What was another act of senseless violence to add to his rapport? He wasn't here to be kind, or merciful.

In this moment, he was but a vessel of vengeance. Cold, uncaring, and cruel. And if this was hell, then he'd gladly become the devil.

Unsure how Elio came to that conclusion, Vivan blinks completely taken back by his outburst. Powerless to stop the relentless sandtomb by his pokemon all she could do was listen to Quilava's pained cries. It was ignorant of her to believe she could reason with Elio. The man clearly cared for no one but himself.

Sandtomb finally came to an end, her quilava laid on the ground covered in critical injuries. Rushing to her pokemon's aide Vivan applies basic first aide before sending her back into the safety of a pokeball. She had to get proper medical care for quilava quickly as possible it wouldn't be easy with Elio refusing to back down.

Her hand is gripped on another pokeball but she hesitates before releasing it. What will it take for this battle to end? for all her pokemon to end up like Quilava?

"Monster" Her voice is muffled by raging winds.

the sandstorm had finally died down, vanishing with one final weak gale. What remained was loose, scattered, sand and the still body of an injured Quillava. [break][break]And with the earthy tempest left the rest of his anger. The inferno that once raged in his heart now simmered down to mere embers. Leaving nothing but ash in its wake.

And while something indescribably evil and twisted inside him beckoned him to strike down the woman. Inside him, a more rational part of him began to surface. [break][break]He could easily end this with a simple order. One command of his Gabite could leave the older woman as a pretty little smear on the ground. Make her join the other graves amongst the mountain.

Yet, he couldn't.

Though he couldn't hear her say it, he could see the motion of her lips just barely against the storm.
[break][break]
'Monster'. Such a thing didn't bother him, no, it hurt even less than the million times he heard it spat at him before. Whether in fear or anger - it was not an uncommon word spoken to him. It meant nothing at all.

But something still gnawed him his gut, twisting his insides. A flash crossed his mind as he saw not the dark-haired woman in front of him. But a fair-haired one. Desperate and barely clinging to life. And in an instant, the vision was gone.

Gritting his teeth he calmed down as the command to end his opponent's life died on his lips. The words left at the tip of his tongue. Instead, he called the dragon pokemon back to its pokeball. Staring intently at the woman from beneath his mask.

He needed to go, he had to get Iskandar healed, after all. "Go." He gritted out harshly. "Leave this place. The battlefield isn't meant for someone as weak as you." He expressed harshly. Hoping the woman's pride wouldn't get in the way of reason.

"The world's practically ending, might as well spend it with the people you care about. Instead of wasting it here in a stupid conflict." Pulling out a hyper potion from a satchel on his hip, he tossed it toward the woman.

"Take it and get the hell outta here." He said as he turned his back to Vivan with the intention to leave and not look back.

He didn't have that kind of luxury.
