There was truth to her statement, though Vivan felt that anyone could say that about a region. What really mattered is what part of the region you would live in and the current state of the economy. Elisabeth's next words was what peaked her curiosity "Very true. In a way it's unfortunate how difficult it is to start fresh." Personally Vivan didn't have this issue - she didn't move to hoenn to run away from her past.

She began to wonder if that was the case for Elisabeth since she had brought it up. Still Vivan chose not to pry - people's past shouldn't matter after all Elisabeth appeared to be a wonderful woman. Seeing how Elisabeth was a little uncomfortable calling her on a first name basis, Vivan realized that she may have been to pushy. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't force you to call me by my first name. Please speak however you would like." This was their first meeting after all - she was foolish to think they had formed a friendship.

"hmm.. well I would say the climate is pretty similar - it's just..." pausing vivan looks around her surroundings once more, admiring the autumn colors of the forest. "I would say the seasons are prettier there since it's more of a mountainous region. Oh and of course the food there is splendid." The mention of food struck in a idea for Vivan. "If you'd like perhaps I could cook a little something and bring it to your shop?" She offers with a sweet smile

Curious to what Lam could mean by he was used to electric shocks - Vivan guessed that frequently worked with electric types. There wasn't much time to discuss it further since they had a flock of angry wingull after them. At the very least - she was grateful that Lam was such an understanding person.

Looking in the direction he pointed out, she gives an affirmative nod when locating the bait shed. Vivan begins to run towards it with her luggage in tow. Just above them she could hear the angry cries of the flock as it chased after the group, and it sounded terrifying. Right when she was just about to reach the shelter Vivan failed to notice a loose stone on the path. She takes a tumble and scrapes up both of her knees as a result. Managing to scramble up in time she makes it into the shelter before the angry flock rains down on her.

With some heavy breathing and sweat down her face she looks towards Lam with a slight smile. "Barely made it, you alright?"

"You did well." Softly reassuring her quilava Vivan applies first aid. She uses the hyper potion that her opponent left behind, unsure why he would do such a thing Vivan simply takes advantage of his actions.

Injured badly from the intense battle with Elio's pokemon, the potion slowly begins to heal the quilava. A moment of relief falls over the small recovery resulting in a brief embrace between the two. Afterwards she recalls her pokemon into the safety of a pokeball, her attention shifting to the chaos unfolding around her.

What seemed to be grabbing everyones attention was the father winter's question. Vivan really wasn't expecting to hear such a question which is why she answered without much thought.

"I'm glad to hear that. Frankly it took me a bit to get used to Hoenn, but sooner or later I began calling it my home as well." There had been many times where Vivan was tempted to flee back to Johto in order to flee the conflict that was gradually getting worse. What stopped her was the love she felt for the people here, she couldn't leave that behind.

Hearing that Elisabeth was originally from Kalos made her curious in what made her move here. Her curiosity remained unanswered, deciding she could ask another time if they ever met again. "I haven't been to Kalos, but I've heard that it's a nice place to live." Vivan smiles, stroking a strand of loose hair behind her ear. momentarily staring at the autumn trees to think about her question.

"I believe it's been ten years or so. I'm originally from Johto but moved here to get my education in teaching. I spent most of my time here in petalburg." Vivan blushes when hearing the formality "Oh there's no need to be formal, please just call me Vivan."

She breathes a sigh of relief. "I'm glad to hear that" She chuckles awkwardly, somewhat surprised at Lam's reaction. In her experience most people wouldn't react the same way he did, she figured he'd be more upset. Once again Vivan laughs at his remark only this time did it sound more natural.

"Nonsense, I apologize for not using a gentler method." Noticing a feather on the man's shoulder, Vivan slowly approaches. "You missed a spot" She alerts him gently before stepping close enough to pluck it away. Retreating backwards to give him personal space again.

Minnie also wished to apologize to Lam, climbing onto his shoulders the minun gently rubbed her cheeks against his, hoping that he would forgive her. She smiles at the sight of it - but it quickly vanishes with the sound of angry squawking. Looking towards the sky Vivan realized that the wingull have returned but in mightier numbers.

"We should get out of here for now!" She said urgently unsure if it was the thunderbolt that caused them to be so angry or if it was because of something else.

She probably would never understand Elio. She needed to come to terms with it, even when peace is desired there will always be conflict. She would never have enough power to change that. His words stung, there was an undeniable truth to them and Vivan could not find the words to say anything back.

She doesn't have a place to be here, but it was well within her rights. The ability to fight, that was something she would never allow to be taken away from her. Even though they could never understand each other Vivan was certain that Elio had a reason worth fighting for.

Watching him leave she snatches the hyper potion he left behind, applying it to her wounded pokemon before heading up towards the mountain.

She blinks and before she's aware the treat had vanished. Astonished by Petunia's speed Vivan also bursts out with uncontrollable laughter, a hand covering her mouth out of habit. "She sure is quick!" A smile emerging after laughter, Vivan could relate when it comes to sweets. "I'm the same way when it comes to Creme Brulee" Just the name of the dessert had Vivan's mouth watering.

Peanut quickly zoned in on the wrapped delicacy, however for the first time she displayed a patient side. Sitting down and waiting calmly until she was given permission to eat.

Vivan is pleased at the sight and nods happily. "Aw, how thoughtful of you. Peanut enjoys all types of food I'm sure she'll enjoy the treat." The mention of daily strolls made Vivan curious which prompted her to ask Elisabeth "How long have you been in hoenn for or more specifically petalburg?"

Unsure how Elio came to that conclusion, Vivan blinks completely taken back by his outburst. Powerless to stop the relentless sandtomb by his pokemon all she could do was listen to Quilava's pained cries. It was ignorant of her to believe she could reason with Elio. The man clearly cared for no one but himself.

Sandtomb finally came to an end, her quilava laid on the ground covered in critical injuries. Rushing to her pokemon's aide Vivan applies basic first aide before sending her back into the safety of a pokeball. She had to get proper medical care for quilava quickly as possible it wouldn't be easy with Elio refusing to back down.

Her hand is gripped on another pokeball but she hesitates before releasing it. What will it take for this battle to end? for all her pokemon to end up like Quilava?

"Monster" Her voice is muffled by raging winds.

The rage in his eyes made her blood run cold. She never thought that rocket cared so deeply about their pokemon, given this was her first interaction with the group - there were many unknowns. Flinching at his words, Vivan preferred to end this battle quickly as possible and head towards the primal point.

"You are foolish! Take the defeat and leave." She hopes those words would be enough to drive him away but she's proven wrong. Eyes narrowing when Elio summons his gabite, she is unsure how to act knowing well that Quilavva wouldn't last another battle.

The fire type is suffering greatly in Gabite's rampant sandstorm, unable to attack freely. Vivan watches helplessly and couldn't help wonder if she was crueler than Elio for subjecting her pokemon to cruel treatment.

She briefly hesitates before responding. "It truly is, the sheer amount of people affected is devastating." Vivan considers herself lucky, having yet to be directly affected by a disaster she figures it's only a matter of time. Living in this region taught her to be always prepared for the unexpected.

"Indeed. Actual moments from a warzone, sadly we find that our hands are not reachable to many." Naturally her expression turns somber. Frustrated how she can't do more for the region that she loves, Vivan has a strong desire to find the best way to help everyone residing in hoenn.

Peanut finally starts to slow down, although she's having a great time playing with Petunia it has depleted her energy. The phanphy wobbles towards Elisabeth and uses her trunk to gently tug at the woman's sleeve trying to get her attention. "Hey peanut don't be a to bother Ms.Elisabeth." Vivan sighs shaking her head at peanut's behavior, afterwards she reaches into her bag to retrieve some pokepuffs. Before offering it to Peanut she turns to Elisabeth, "If it's okay I'd like to give Petunia a pokepuff. Luckily I have one that bug pokemon really enjoy." With a smile Vivan brings out another pokepuff that had been smothered with honey giving it a rather sweet scent.

Fire against fire, it was certainly a flashy battle. Vivan knew it wouldn't be ideal to let this continue much longer, a hand covering her mouth as she begins to cough from all the smoke inhalation. It was beginning to look like she misjudged Elio, the younger man seemed rash and impulsive but he maintained a calm demeanor throughout battle.

Victory was beginning to look more uncertain.

She needed to stop the pyroar before he unleashes a move empowered by workup. That was easier said than done, "double edge! " It was a dicey approach but Vivan figured that it would be her best chances of victory.

Quilava recklessly charges at Elio's pyroar tackling it with immense power and speed but also takes heavy recoil damage from the attack, still standing the fire-type is rather wobbly on their feet as he stares down Elio and Pyroar.
