Knowing the terrain is only an advantage to a certain degree, especially in a place like Mount Pyre. Heavy fog often overtakes the mountain, and the ghost and psychic pokémon that call this place their home are known to be prone to pulling tricks and confusing people who wander through these hallowed grounds.

Case in point: the pair of Claydol upon which the Unown’s gaze falls.

Both Mars and the symbol watch as the Claydol face off against one another, one of them using what to the psychic specialist looks like an obvious POWER TRICK. That’s the thing about psychic types: they love tricks.

Will the wild pokémon also be a problem on the day the meteor is meant to be teleported?

It’s something that definitely should be accounted for.

The Unown watches the Primal Point. Through its gaze, Mars does as well, and in turn, a Decidueye watches them.

It’s the underboss that first becomes aware of the presence of the bird-of-prey, having turned towards the trees due to feeling observed. Funny how that works, right? He locks eyes with the wild pokémon, yet it does not attack.

Mars doesn’t tell the Unown to attack either, simply choosing to let the bird be.

There’s no point in picking a fight with it. It’s not what they came here for, after all.

Lights suddenly flash right in front of the Unown, and Mars winces in discomfort. It’s instinctively that the symbol is called back, temporarily severing their psychic connection so he won’t have to deal with the lights.

When he looks up to the spot where the Unown had been, the culprit is clear: a wild Beheeyem.

Mars sighs.

He’ll need to keep practising so that things like those don’t startle him. Not getting headaches when using too many Unown would also be nice.

There’s much left to be done, but for now, he decides to leave Mount Pyre.
