Another week, another trip to Mount Pyre. Everything is as it should be; as it has been for over a year now. Almost as if the threat enroute to put an end to Hoenn itself isn’t currently visible in the skies up above. At times like these, Mars chooses to act as if it weren’t there.

He needs to focus on the here and now; on preparing for the day of the attack and for how things might be after the meteor is dealt with. So, he comes to Mount Pyre as he always has, and he searches for Unown as per usual.

For as much as people worry about how pokémon will react to the meteor’s approach, the ghosts in the eerie mountain also act as they usually do.

In the distance, there’s a light, and even without getting a clear view of it Mars can identify it as likely being one of Litwick’s evolutions. He’s seen them one too many times before.

Oh, Arceus… Is he becoming some kind of ghost expert or something?! Mars hopes not. Ghost experts are usually weirdo loners in his experience (maybe with the sole exception of Alexandra Briarwood).

A strange carved stone stands in the middle of the path and Mars knows to recognize it for what it is: a Spiritomb.

The Spiritomb has sensed their presence, perhaps it had even been here waiting for them. A CURSE is sent in their direction, and the spectra dragon is quick to move between his master and the amalgamation of souls. He lets out a cry before darting in retaliation.
