Of all the events and affairs that the extravagantly designed ballroom within The Nimbus had housed through the years, this particular evening had to be one of the more droll. A charity gala and silent auction held for the upper echelons of Mossdeep and its surrounding cities, all for the sake of donating the profit to some cause or another. Of course, it was all pomp and circumstance. The elite simply loved an opportunity to flaunt their wealth through their bids and their social transitions.[break][break]

Enzo would know, he’d seen it again and again over the course of the hotel’s rise into lavish and reputable standing.[break][break]

Tonight, however, the whole effort seemed tired. Or perhaps he was bored. It had been a pain to arrange many of the finer details between caterers hired by the organizers, and the staff already preparing essentials that came along with booking the space. Servers floated among the richly decorated space, serving drinks to the stylishly dressed. Twinkling light caught on tall stemmed glasses and in the sparkle of adorning jewelry.[break][break]

Upon entry, each guest was offered a ticket to the Nimbus’ bar despite the provided offerings within the ballroom itself. A free, tailored drink courtesy of the establishment, and the proprietor himself. Enzo was just about to find his way there (to ‘check in’ or to hide, he’d never admit,) when a fleeting face snagged his attention.[break][break]

Quickly, his disinterest in the evening’s proceeds faded in favor of opportunity. In the back of his mind, he had been wondering if she would turn up tonight. If she was genuinely interested in what the evening touted, or if she was simply drawn to the ornate events held at The Nimbus like a moth to flame.[break][break]

Of course he’d noticed her, because she was difficult to miss. Even more so, it was impossible to not notice the slow, but steady uptick in business that seemed to occur the wake of her visits. A guest list previously scanned through revealed a name– Yumi Hasegawa. And the consequential quick internet search yielded the user handle–yumineko. And of course, the positive detailing of his hotel, and the consequential boon that had followed.[break][break]

Naturally, he’d be a fool to not see this as advantageous, and therefore, his night might prove interesting after all. With the expediency that only a man who ran a multi-floored establishment from top to bottom on a daily basis, Enzo drifted into her perimeter. Two champagne stems were snagged with ease, and as he approached her with a congenial smile, he offered one of the glasses out to her. “I trust that everything is to your liking.” A commonly used phrase used to begin most interactions with his patrons.[break][break]

He is aware of her, but is she aware of who he is?
