A trip to the SAFARI ZONE was an opportunity to hone CATALINA the CERULEDGE's skills. It seemed strange to him that, once more, the spirit of another one of his ancestors now found itself in the body of a Ghost-type Pokémon. In truth, the story behind his Ceruledge was quite something— particularly in contrast to his DOUBLADE.

The events that had transpired that fateful night played through his mind as they ventured into the forests. Catalina, on the other hand, was focused on hunting down a worthy opponent. Her ghostly blue flames flickered as her eyes shifted to and fro, blade-arms at her side but always ready.

A SLUSH RUSH approaches from the mountainside. It's none other than an ALOLAN SANDSHREW. It leaps from said mountainside with an aggressive IRON HEAD.

The attack proves to be not very effective against Catalina, however. She lifts a blade to shield herself from it, then strikes the shrew down with a BITTER BLADE. When the deed is done, Remiel pulls a POKEBALL out from his pack and casts it down to capture it.

The scent of berries that the breeze carried softly through the forest had Remiel in the mood for some FRUITCAKE. Frankly, he wasn't as excited for the holidays as he had been last year... but he would endeavor to have a merry one regardless. He thought about this and the festival that he had in the works for RUSTBORO as he approached a riverbank to refill his canteen with his Ceruledge escort.

Suddenly, however, a STARYU of all things leaps from the bank, attempts to strike said Ceruledge, and FLIP TURNS away when its attack is blocked with a blade. The royal can see it spinning through the river afterwards, surely on its way back to the sea and saltwater where it truly belonged.

An ELECTROWEB blocks their path. Of all the creatures in the forest, a MAREEP of all things had cast it. This was, of course, in an effort to bar others from the pristine green pasture it had laid claim to.

Catalina, however, slices through this electrified web easily with her BITTER BLADE, charging the little sheep just as it prepares to launch an ELECTRO BALL. The clash ends with a burst of electricity and a FIRE SPIN. The latter ends up unconscious afterwards, and Remiel produces an empty luxury ball from his pack to catch it.

Upon reaching the base of a glacier river, Remiel and his double-bladed companion find a small waddle of EISCUE. When one of them plays its BELLY DRUM at them, however, Catalina takes that personally. Her blades ignite with shadowy flame before she leaps in with a FIRE SPIN.

Most of the Eiscue manage to flee and waddle away. Only one of them succumbs to the flames after its ice cube helmet melts away. Remiel steps out from the trees with an empty ball hand before casting it toward the Pokémon in question.

Walking through the forest was sure to bring about some danger. One of these dangers soon emerged in the form of a PINECO. It fell, suddenly, from a branch above.

Catalina was quick to react, thankfully. She whacked it away with a BITTER BLADE before it SELF-DESTRUCTED afar. With a sigh, Remiel continued forward in search of their last capture.

In a snowy clearing deep within the Safari Zone, they came across a DELIBIRD. It waddled over to them with PRESENT in hand. When Catalina received it, however, it exploded in her face.

Thankfully, her Ghost-typing helped relieve the majority of the damage. Though the prankster attempted to flee, she was quick to retaliate with a shadowy slash (SHADOW CLAW). Remiel pulled out an empty ball and captured the bird shortly thereafter.
