He wasn't sure how he got back from Mt Pyre. Much of his descent from the volcanic mountain was a blur. He vaguely recalled making his way to his car, as his men helped him in and drove off. Then everything went black as he awoke in his room.

His subordinates were more fussy than usual. And the mafia heir was not having it. He told them off after their constant whinging got on his last nerve. They weren't his nannies, good Arceus!

Some time went by but Elio couldn't tell you just how much it was. He was all but barricaded in his room, laying in his bed as he slept. Occasionally he'd get up to get showered and take a piss but he barely ate a thing and it was beginning to show. [break][break]He was far more snappish than before, tired circles began to appear under his eyes. And his whole demeanor just lacked any of the passion he held before. On top of that, he had a pretty bad gash on his stomach that was slow to heal and his ankle felt funny, and not in a good way.

So, after being henpecked to death by his own mafioso he finally relented and booked an appointment with the Slateport Clinic. If only to get them all off his ass for a bit and to get out of the house.

You'd think he was a baby with the way this hardened group of criminals acted. But it could've been worse, he supposed. All things considered, he came out of the whole debacle relatively unscathed.

Well, for the most part.

"I'm fine, I'll call you when the appointment's over." He said to one of the men dressed in an all-black suit and sunglasses. [break][break]They hesitantly paused but a violet-eyed glare stopped all resistance as they gave a short bow and left. Now, all that was left to get this whole thing over with was a mafia heir, a waiting room, and his doctor.

Things in Hoenn weren't so hot. The meteor happened, and then it didn't, which was cause for celebration, as the apocalypse wasn't ahead of them. But a lot of people were hurt by the aftereffects of the meteor, or from what she heard, Mt. Pyre and Littleroot.

She hadn't gotten the chance to go help Littleroot. In all honesty, Genevieve Cromwell would have slowed her team down. But this? This was something she knew she could do. She signed up at her local clinic, volunteering to assist people in need, that way the doctors could take a rest.

It wasn't even her Ranger duty. Genny just figures, if she does something while her team risks their lives, she can feel useful. For the first time, she's crestfallen. But even so, she takes it in stride, and begins helping with patient after patient, acting as a surrogate nurse. After the sixth patient, her mood dropped considerably. Bubbles and Serenity could tell, but she stayed strong.

She's being counted on!

The door creaks open to Elio's room, the redhead's tied up hair and casuals over her body as she grabs her clipboard. "Mr. Delacosta, right?" She looks towards the blonde, and wow he's handsome. Okay. She stands her ground, her short four foot eleven inch tiny body attempting to look professional. "My name is Genevieve Cromwell, I'm acting as a temporary nurse assistant to the clinic. What seems to be the problem today? I see your shirt seems to be stained at your stomach region, and you look exhausted. Anything else?" She gives her sunny side up smile, attempting to dismiss her own woes. For the most part, she did a great job. If she can light up the room, that's all that matters, right?

Her Eevee and Azurill popped in behind her, as she held her clipboard out at the ready to write everything that ailed him. She was his nurse now, so she would do it!

Elio knew this was a clinic, but he still was expecting a doctor... But instead, he got a nurse? And an assistant nurse at that? He internally sighed, wearily.

Elio of a few months ago would've hollered and carried on, maybe threaten folks a little. But Elio of today was too tired for that... too worn. He'd like to chalk it up as "personal development", that he'd "changed" but he knew that was a lie.

Instead, he looked down at the tiny woman who called herself a nurse and gave a somewhat strained, wobbly, smile. His first instinct was to liken her to a Growlithe, with her red hair, small size, and sunny disposition.

He'd even call her cute if he had the energy to flirt. Instead, he refrained and simply stated what was wrong with him. Hoping that she could help him out.

She was sharp, there was no doubt about that. But he still had to articulate what was wrong with him in detail. ...Obsufacating some key points of course...

"Beyond feeling like I'm the walking dead, and the sharp pain in my stomach, I got my left ankle here. It hurts like a bitch too. It's swollen and I have a feeling it's more than just sore." Trying to throw in a bit of sarcastic humor to lighten the mood and his insufferable pain.

"The painkillers barely work anymore, and the pain's gettin' worse by the day. Hence why my... assistant, set up this appointment for me."

The strained smile only proved the point to Genny. This guy was tired, exhausted. Let alone the staining shirt at his stomach, only meant one thing.

Without a worry in the world, she squarely focuses on the blonde man before him. His woes about his pain was cute, and while she had been told to do most of the preliminary checkups to make the doctor's life easier, she knows she can't prescribe. So instead, she begins writing on her clipboard. "Alright, fatigue for one. I will also need you to take off your shoe and pull up your pants leg on your left leg, as well as taking off your shirt. It's customary for check-up, that way I can try to administer first aid!" She smiles warmly, proceeding towards the side of the room, and pulling two rubber gloves on. Safety first! No need to get anything infected! At least he was lightening the mood!

She's not terribly versed in the medical world. Hell, her being an assistant is just because one, she has experience in the world thanks to her dad, and two, they were so short-handed. But the clinic was nice to give her a chance. Genny knew how to help. As she begins opening the first aid kit, she prepares a cloth, ready to put the disinfectant on it.

"Alrighty! Let's see what's under there first!" She would turn towards him, beaming happily as she holds the disinfectant cloth in one hand.

The young man felt heat creep up his neck and face against his will. He suddenly felt very exposed by her orders.

But why? He shouldn't be bothered by something so mundane. Elio would deny it was because he found her attractive and chalked it up to 'lack of sleep'.

Clearing his throat he nodded. "R-Right." He did as he was instructed, first taking off his shoe and pulling up his left pant leg above his ankle.

Then pulling off his shirt showing toned muscles and an athletic build with a neck, chest, and stomach covered in tattoos.

He reflexively put his hand to the wound as he winced in pain. Noticed the once-red gash was starting to turn yellowish-green. "Uh... That's not good, is it?"

Was he blushing? Huh. Genny couldn't imagine why! She just needed to clean up his wounds was all. He needed to take his shirt o-

Oh. Heat finds its way to mirror itself, and even though for a moment she is fine, she feels her face flush entirely, hazel eyes gazing the opposite direction. "I-I promise. It's just... cleaning your wound."

When the shirt is gone, and his pants leg was pulled up, she holds the very horny schoolgirl back at the toned body, and moves closer, getting a good look over his stomach wound. "That's infection. It's okay, let me just clean the wound." She pushes the cloth coated in hydrogen peroxide to clean it. She gives one look to his eyes.

She swallows. "This is gonna hurt at first, okay?" After the warning, she begins brushing at the wound, rubbing to clean it off of anything, or any debris that found its way there.

Her touch is gentle, and yet she is firm with how she moves her delicate fingers across it. Her face is still heated, so close, but she holds any feeling behind a glass of professionalism. This was not the time to try anything. Besides, she had more important things to handle as is. More patients!

"How do you feel?" she asks, concerned.

The blonde-haired man tried to subtly hide his blush by looking away and covering his lower face with a large hand. It was only going Genevieve applied the hydrogen peroxide that he finally felt his shyness strip away. Instead blinded by sudden pain.

Gritting his teeth he held back a shout and instead muttered a small curse under his breath. Arceus, he figured he was alright - but it looked like he was a bit more banged up than he first thought. Maybe he should've come here sooner? Well, no case on dwelling on the past.

"T-Thanks." He stuttered not from being flustered but from the lingering pain. "Man, this hurts like a bitch." Complained the taller male almost petulantly, childishly, even. "Thanks." His eyes softened as he looked a bit flustered seconds later, tripping over his words all of a sudden.

"Uh- Even though I know you're just doin' you're job and all - I'm still very grateful, I mean!" He sighed and looked away again boring a hole into a wall, finding it mighty interesting at that moment. Noting the window seal which held a vase full of primrose flowers, which were a beautiful shade of yellow in full bloom.

And he definitely wasn't using them as an excuse to avoid confronting the nurse like a schoolboy. Of course not! That would be ridiculous! He was a grown man raised in the mafia! He totally wasn't getting shy over a cute woman he just met!

Sneaking a glance down at the woman his gaze lingered on her for a moment before he turned his attention to the floor. Only to wince once he put too much pressure on his left foot. Wincing once more he hoped the next thing she could work on was his jacked-up foot. He couldn't go on missions if he had an Arceus damned limp after all.

"Hey, uh, Nurse Cromwell, do you know what's wrong with my ankle here? It feels like it's on fire and being stabbed by pin missiles at the same time."

He questioned, hoping to move the conversation into a less awkward situation. Anything than them acting like a bunch of blushing fools. For his dignity's sake. 'But... Maybe after this, I can ask for her number?'[break][break]

Handsome guy or not, his reaction to peroxide on an infected wound was understandable. Though she never puts too much pressure on it, hearing his pained groans and curse, and doing her best to ensure to clean it with care. She's not being wholly careful, enough so to ensure that he's not hating her by the end of it.

Because she, too, is thinking he should ask her for her number after she's done.

When he's flustered, and is grateful for her job, she smiles, and looks up to him with those hazel browns, her face still heated up. That beaming look, right into those purple eyes. She looks down, biting her bottom lip, as she stands up straight. This wasn't fair! "Don't mention it, Mister Delacosta." Her face lights up, a finger working through red hair.

Next came his foot, and she moved towards it. "Sit." She pushes a hand to her chest, and she wishes she didn't. He's so toned. The worst part is that he's her type.

She tries to push him onto the little bed behind him, but lacks the strength or desire to. So instead, she merely smiles. "You need to take pressure off it. So I can have a good look." When he finally does, she zips down to his left foot, and looks at it closely. "I'll have the doctor come check you out in a moment, but my guess is you sprained it pretty bad. If I had to guess, he'll tell you to stay off it for a couple of days, it should heal."

She's at least distracted enough not to think about it, as she begins bandaging up his stomach wound, wrapping her arms around him with the medical tape and bandages.

"Light exercise at most, handsome. Okay?"

Despite her rather half-hearted attempts to move him, he followed her guidance regardless. Sitting as comfortably as he could on the small bed the orangette quickly zipped down to check on his ankle. Her diagnosis filled him with relief as he was sure it was broken.

And yet, her final words threw him for a loop. His brain crashed for a few seconds at the words 'handsome'. He felt it reboot itself as he finally found himself able to formulate words. Trying to reign in his raging thoughts he instead calmed himself down and smiled.

"Right, and you'll definitely fix me up again if I overdo it, right, beautiful?" He ended with a wink, surprised at his smoothness so suddenly. Deciding that since he started flirting, he might as well take the plunge.

"Maybe we should exchange numbers in case I need your help later... Or, we can just go out for some coffee?" Elio confessed trying not to fumble as he oddly felt his confidence wane as he continued speaking. "I-If you want, I mean! N-No pressure!"
