Lam yanked him back and he tripped. Then he was rolling backwards, down an incline. He hit the surface with a thump, not a hard crash like he might have imagined. The ground was almost cushy. He had no idea what was going on back with the group though he was sure they were fine. "Lam?" He called, feeling like a kid lost in a theme park.

That was about the time his eyes landed on the biggest, shiniest pearl he'd ever seen. Now, maybe they had bigger things to deal with, but they were also very poor. So, quietly he crept closer. His hands closed around the pearl and he pulled. A sticky matter had formed on the bottom, keeping it secured. He pulled harder, until he felt the little sinews pop free. "Oh wow, that was surprisingly easy."

Then, the whole cavern started shaking, something furious rattling at the barnacle laden walls around him. "Lam!" Okay, so maybe he messed up. He placed the pearl back, but it apparently wasn't enough to console the invisible beast. Sharp teeth appeared and he realized he'd fallen on a big tongue. With a shriek, Rook raced back up the incline and out of the literal belly of a beast. "Time to go! Woah... what the heck, guys, stop playing around."

It was so easy to just slip away...

To sleep and never wake up. Violet eyes now golden slid open weakly as he stared ahead. The tentacles of the nihiligo wrapped around him tightly, possessively. Refusing to let go, Elio felt the fight in him start to fade.

Genny... He heard her voice, and glimpsed her firelight hair. Her warm brown eyes...
[break][break]
Genny... She could join him... In this deep abyss where no one would tear them apart. She just had to stop figh- Elio heard an inhumane screech as the tentacles that once held fast writhed and recoiled.

And for a moment, the fog in his mind began to fade. The feelings he felt once before... The anger, and apathy, all began to seep from his body. Much like the poison the jellyfish pokemon injected into his body.

Golden eyes flickered to violet, as the black ink-like substance in his hair began to fade away to golden blond. He closed his eyes one more time before they snapped open to pure violet. Burning with anger, but not towards Genny, Lam, or Ikarus. - but towards the Nihiligo.

Elio was back.

They wanted to fuck with him like this? Well, they were gonna pay the price for messing with a monster like him. "LEVIATHAN!" He shouted out - righting himself up as he swam towards Genny.

"Use Whirlpool!" Suddenly, the area where the Nihiligo swam churned violently. The water twisted and turned - trapping them in a vicious, ripping, and roaring, whirlpool. Causing them to screech even more.

Elio felt a sick satisfaction warm through him, as he grinned maniacally at the suffering ultra beast. More than happy to see them in pain. If he could, he'd let it suffer more. But no, they had to get out the hell outta here. So, it was time to end this battle. "Leviathan! Use Hydro Pump!"

The Gyarados charged up a ball of water before letting it loose on the alien pokemon. As the creature screeched and flailed in pain. Only to scurry off into the nether of the ocean. Hopefully with no intention of coming back with allies.

"Genny? Thank you... You saved me..."

He wanted to kiss and hug her but knew it wasn't the time. Who knew when those bastards would return? "Did the others getaway? Cause I think we need to get outta here... And fast."

Rook not leaving was not in her plan, but she's too tired to even argue. Her hazel eyes are glazing over. The pain in her neck was so much. So much for perfect skincare most of her life; the moment a sassy little barnacle wants to, it can ruin any moisterizer hope one has. Not like that matters. As she looks onto the hellish jelly being, with Mr. Business presenting a business meeting about how synergetic being beaten in the face with a dozen of Fire Punch fists was, she feels her unconsciousness fading.[break][break]

She was going to die here.

That is, until Egg uses Life Dew. She can feel her consciousness returning. Lammy just saved her life. As she feels on her chest, she smiles. That's right. She wasn't alone. Turning towards Lammy, she feels her lips curl upwards. Her throat still feels awful, and she knows while the bleeding has stopped, talking would be painful for a bit. So shooting Lammy that, she responds with a simple "Thank you." [break][break]

However... the whole cavern begins shaking, rattling furiously, and Genny's eyes looked up, around, every nook and cranny. Panic does not register to her though, she feels more and more intent to save Elio, Lammy, and Rook. They were her responsibility. They would all make it, or she wasn't going to make it at all. That much, she knew in her heart. Her soul wouldn't allow it. Her visions caused them all trouble. Unbeknownst to her though, Rook had done possibly worse.[break][break]

When the Nihilego lets go of Elio, and he has his Gyarados fire off, it's all she can do to grab the swimming blonde moving back to her, and place her forehead on his for just a moment. With its disappearance, she squeaks. "You're okay?" She cups his cheeks in her hands, and looks lovingly, turning towards where Lam and Rook are.[break][break]

She's paying for hot springs tonight. For all four of them. She won't take no for an answer, but they needed to leave. Like, now. Her voice sounded off, but she winces as she orders. "We need... to get out... the way we came. Exit." Mr. Business gives a salute...[break][break]

The Darmanitan looks on at Rook, his gaze catching something behind him. The ape's eyes widen, as he rushes towards him, attempting to push Rook out of the way. His arms would latch onto whatever it is, holding the mouth open, as the sharp teeth attempted to close down. They began to draw blood, digging into the hands of the gorilla, as he winces, but the gorilla held fast, despite his lack of training. With the whole cavern falling around them, the humans needed to get out. Now. The danger was too real.[break][break]

He shares one look to Genny. He nods.[break][break]

Genny nods. "We need... to go! Whole place... falling apart! Go! Go!"[break][break]

He catches Genny's thanks and he nods frantically, still diverting his attention between her, making sure that the nihilengo is removed from Elio, and trying to figure out where Rook went. "Of course," it comes out shakier than he cares for, but he can't help it. Paranoia fixes him in place. Thankfully, Elio seems to come down somewhat from the toxin. At least enough to think clearer. His togekiss flits around him, waiting to use LIFE DEW on Elio just the same as with Genny before returning to Lam's side.[break][break]

Whatever he might have said next about the gyarados blowing away the nihilengo is quieted as Rook reappears at his side. "There you are! Where were- what's that?" He looks at a pearl still in Rook's hand. And then everything around them begins to shake, and when he looks back up at Rook, his eyes are round. The expression settling on his face not angry, but more of a question of This because of that trinket?[break][break]

Really, there's no time to waste parsing out the details, though.[break][break]

When instructed to go, he doesn't question it this time. Whirling around, he finds Rook's free hand and has his shinx lead them off - still crackling with bright energy. Finally, he's spurred to life. When Mr. Business doesn't follow the group, though, he frowns and looks back over his shoulder. "But what about-" He catches sigh of the look exchanged by Genny and her pokemon, and his face falls.[break][break]

He doesn't need an answer in words to know what that means.

Rook could sit there and explain to his boyfriend that he had done something stupid, but was that really necessary? Did he really even need to bother when the evidence was so clear and written on the walls. The same walls being blasted aside because some creature was chasing him for attempting to steal a pearl. Really, it had been very dramatic and totally uncalled for.

Instead, they were running. He wasn't very good at running, but managed to do so without tripping over his own feet. Little did he realize until it was too late, that his actions once again had consequences. This time, Genny was about to lose her pokemon all because he'd decided to steal something that wasn't his. He felt the color drain out of his face, a million different apologies slipping to the surface that would never make up for the price they had to pay. "I'm sorry." He managed meekly, figuring that Genny would probably hate his guts now. So much for a first impression.

Right then, there was nothing to be done to stop it. The deal was done. All they could do was keep running.

Everything was falling apart...

Fire was flooding his veins and he felt his mind become hazy for a moment. But he needed to press on.

They all did.

Gritting his teeth he watched as Genny's prized pokemon and best friend "Mr Business" sacrificed himself to save them all. The thought of his own pokemon friend, Iskander - dying for him sent an electric shock of pain through him.

He couldn't even bare the thought... And yes, it was a very real and possible thing. Elio couldn't imagine what was running through his girlfriend's mind.

She was being tough right now... But, give it time... The blond-haired man promised to make it his mission to comfort her when all was said and done. She needed him right now. More than ever.

"Everyone's here? Right - let's get the hell outta here!" As the cave fell apart the four of them escaped from that hellhole, leaving much behind. Some of them were forever changed by this debacle.

'I fucked up...' He lamented his mistakes. 'But it seems like I'm not the only one...' He eyed Ikarus for a moment before focusing on Genny.

For now, apologies could wait. They had more important things to worry about... And Elio was not looking forward to reporting to his superiors...
