[attr="class","rosepost"]Was the winter ever going to end? Lam was well and truly over it. Still, he wouldn't accomplish anything by sitting around at home - as desirable as that was, actually. Maybe he should hibernate from there on out?[break][break]

It was too late to do so now, anyway. He was already out in the middle of the safari zone, trying to get some exercise in. Maybe that way he'd be able to keep up with MATIAS SILPH next time. Overhead, his talonflame circled through the air, looking for anything to pinpoint. His appletun also...wasn't exactly the best jogging partner, but he was cute, and he seemed to enjoy rooting around in the snow, so Lam wasn't about to deny the little snack dragon his fun.

Finally, he comes across something— a roly poly little fella smacking at his belly with stubby hands. A darumaka, to be exact.[break][break]

He lifts his fingers to his mouth and whistles, calling off the talonflame that had begun to circle. Nah, this little guy doing his BELLY DRUM dance was mad cute, and honestly seemed like he’d be right up his boyfriend’s alley. The sort of little weird dude that Ikarus Rook would love. So he’ll do this Rook’s way.[break][break]

Though if he was doing that to a tee, he’d probably start with Wow! I love him..[break][break]

Instead, he marched up to the little guy and bent to hold out his hand in an offered high five. “Put ‘er there.” The darumaka smacks his hand with surprising force. Though it’s well intended, of course.

After a moment, he releases the darumaka from its new pokeball again— just for the sake of snapping a selfie with the little guy to send to Ikarus Rook. From the snow, it hops and waves its hands, obviously unbothered by the fact that it was caught only moments before. Kinda adorable, honestly.[break][break]

As thanks, Lam offers it a treat before returning it, which it greedily gobbles up. Then they’re free to move on. In the distance, he’s pretty sure he heard the tinkling of bells. Maybe a flash of gold. But it’s there and then gone so he thinks nothing more of it.

A scorbunny hops out of the brush, and darts circles around them. "Oh woah, you got the zoomies, huh?" Fishing a pokeball out, he releases his shinx. The little feline shakes his fur out - obviously ruffled over having been contained to his ball.[break][break]

It's a short-lived resentment, at least. As soon as Noodle sets sights on the zippy little rabbit, he darts to catch up. Just as Lam expected. Eager to win in a race, the shinx lets out a pulse of THUNDER WAVE to stun the scorbunny. Lam tosses a safari once there's a jolting pause it the pokemon's movement.

Scorbunny contained, it doesn’t take much to see that the shinx wanted to continue running. He runs circles around Lam and the appletun still moseying alongside him. He nearly collides with a pancham minding its own business, but skids to a halt inches before impact.[break][break]

For a moment, it looks like Noodle might go out of his way to fight the little bear, but the threat of being SEISMICALLY TOSSED sends the little feline skittering away to leave the pancham alone. Satisfied with this outcome, the wild Pokémon settled against a tree for a nap. For a moment, though, it watches them with one eye open, daring them to just try it.

Easily distracted along their walk, Noodle’s attention is captured by a cutiefly that flits through the air with lackadaisical ease. Once spotted, his shinx chases after it. He hops up into the air, small paws batting at it in an attempt to swipe and snag it.[break][break]

Frustrated that it cannot catch the cutiefly with only his speed, the shinx zaps it with a pulsing SHOCK WAVE. It has the intended effect, of course, and the bug-type comes spiraling down to the earth. But before Noodle can snatch it, it disappears into a safari ball.[break][break]

“Sorry bud, bugs aren’t food.” The chide earns grumbly chirps from the little cat.

It really is a stupid fear, isn’t it? One he really needs to work on getting over. His trip into that rift with Rook and his friends the other week proved it. The whole thing had been a mess, but his nearly paralytic fear of fish made him practically useless.[break][break]

He could start by working with this weird sushi fish, right? He guesses it’s sort of cute… a whistle brings Ziti down from the sky, disarming it with STEEL WINGS.
