Years ago, Oscar would have never guessed that he would have the chance to travel to the FUCKIN' MOON! Yet here he was, landing upon its surface for the first time. When Lulu had invited him it took all of his effort not to squeal with boyish glee. Sure the possibility of discovering even more power beyond Tera Energy was Oscar's number one reason to accept the offer, but come on who would turn down going to space!? 

The trip itself was alright, though the majesty of space did lose its luster about fourteen hours in. Oscar spent most of his time sleeping and staring out the window, watching the sea of stars. The adrenaline of their arrival had greatly perked Oscar up, his suit-up speed was near instantaneous. Yet even with how excited he was, he would do his best to keep his cool. He would not want Lulu to think he was lame after all.

He kept up his mellow all the way until he first stepped onto the moon's surface. All around them lay a seemingly endless gray desert, nothing but rocks and sand. Oscar soaked in the view before finally shouting, "This is so fucking metal dude!" Remembering the company he was in, Oscar cleared his throat and pulled out a mineral analyzer from a holster in his suit. 

"I've tuned this analyzer to recognize energy signals. It can sense about eighty feet downward." Oscar turned the gadget on and pointed it to the moon surface. The hud picked up nothing but moon rock and sedimentary nothingness. Of course they could not be that lucky, it was time to trek. Oscar pointed in a random direction, "Let's go this way and not wander too far. We'll probably have more luck if we can find an impact crater." Oscar bounced forward, trying really hard to hide his excited giggling.

Oscar chuckled and shrugged, "Oh you know, just a bit of tinkering and a can do attitude heh." Oscar's mineral/energy analyzer was actually rather haphazardly made. He indeed wanted to create a device that could detect energy deposits underground, but the way he went about it would be rather confusing to anyone other than him. Energy was detected by the device as 'Limestone', and in turn Limestone was now 'Quartz' and so on and so forth. Basically every mineral or rock it detected was now labeled as something else, and if it were not for his own demented understanding of how the device worked it would be impossible to use.

Anyway they pressed on, moon-hopping toward a large crater not too far from their landing site. Oscar was sure to take note of environmental details that might help them retrace their steps should they wander too far. The last thing they needed to be was stranded on the moon. With Lulu's confirmation, the two would begin hopping down the sloped edges of the crater. Oscar had to try very hard not to giggle with amusement, as naturally it was fun as fuck to hop downhill.

As they reached the bottom, Oscar would continue hopping in place. "I can't imagine this getting old any time soon, though traversing through this low gravity may tucker us out if we're not careful." Oscar ceased hopping, taking his own warning into quick consideration. He pointed his analyzer toward the ground and pulled the trigger to activate it. 

"...Huh..."

INFINITY AND BEYOND

ON THE MOON, there may be little to find. Space rock and dust. Further excavation or examination of the powdery surface may reveal orange soil. Contained therein would be orange volcanic glass, perhaps, hints toward the moon having had volcanic activity eons ago.

However, the two Rocket scientists would be able to discover fragments of meteorite. Perhaps, they came from the 99943 METENO; however, it is more likely that these samples came from meteorite impacts over time...

Oscar stared at his analyzer, not sure what to make of the result. It read as if there had been an error, like if it were pointed at something that was made of plastic or wood. Oscar squatted to the best of his ability to get a closer look. He saw mostly moon rock and grey dust, so he began to gently brush around to see if something would reveal itself.

Eventually his bulky gloves would grab around something that had the texture of a glass shard. He held it up and brushed it gently, revealing a brown sheen under the grey dust that coated its surface. Oscar then spoke to Lulu, "This looks like--a shard of a comet? Or meteorite. Could be debris from Meteno."

Oscar stood up and held it out to Lulu so that she could get a better look.

Oscar nodded, "Good idea, perhaps this shard's value will reveal itself after some examination." Oscar scooped up some more possible samples and put it all into a bag attacked to the hip of his suit. He began to hop around the rest of the crater, hoping to find something else of value. Alas, there seemed to be nothing more than moon rocks--not that moon rocks weren't cool it just was not what he was looking for.

After a good deal of fruitless searching, Oscar reunited with Lulu. He sighed heavily, checking his oxygen levels before addressing his companion. "We might want to move out soon. We can stock up and explore more of the surface. We should probably bring some sort of transportation so that we can get around faster."

There was a moment of silence as Oscar looked to the crater's sides. It was a whimsical trip down, but the thought of having to bounce up seemed exhausting now. In his absent gawking, a stray thought would suddenly spring forth from Oscar's mouth.

"The meteor was teleported elsewhere, how would shards of it reach the moon?"

Oscar was offered a minior steed to escape the crater, and Oscar would chuckle lightly as he wrapped himself around the living meteorite. "You always have the best plans Lulu." The two began their ascent, idle chit chat distracting Oscar from how high they were rising.

"An impact on its way--that makes sense. Maybe that was how the Deoxys made it onto Menteno's surface. Perhaps these shards will react to Deoxys itself, we should ask Killian for a test." Oscar was not yet aware of Killian's disappearance, and thus his hope for a way forward was misplaced. Although it should still be a useful experiment should Deoxys resurface once more.

Having escaped the crater, Oscar would hop of the minior and lightly skip forward. Not on purpose, but it certainly looked that way as he came to a dainty stop. "Alright, back to the ship. Mission two should be more fruitful."

It was a shame to leave seemingly empty handed, but sometimes the mystery was its own reward. What significance would these shards reveal? Only time would tell.
