it aligns with her own thinking, sure, but his is not tinged with guilt or selfishness.

his is pure, whole, good. it places hoenn as the main concern for defense, for survival.

she does not view things in the same manner anymore. she is trying to, once more like old times, but it is a cheap imitation of a girl long since deceased.

"we can start by trying to figure out how to nullify their powers when they do invade."

the same concept she presented to dahlia goode. her mind has not changed on this.

"the link between their people and kyogre might be able to be severed, but i'm unsure of how yet."

all of that is well and good but...

"defenses will need to be strengthened as well."

the obvious answer is to remove their kyogre entirely, but that is a herculean task in itself. perhaps they can take inspiration from the drk triad.[break][break]

he has duties and she has motives. nothing will change such a fact.

her voice sounds faraway, distant, kept away from him. there, it will stay.

and when her eyes sweep toward the dimensional rift, toward the lifeless air to its former reality-bending body, her expression shifts into one of neutrality. a mask is placed on and she wipes splattered hands on her pants to rid herself of the actions.
