with an easy-going smile, greyson pinches a flower between forefinger and thumb. the comfey that'd offered it moments ago squeaks, its voice barely above a whisper, and greyson leans in to listen intently. after a few mild-mannered attempts ellie gets seemingly frustrated, clambering for the stem that greyson gives freely, and lifts it to place the white-petaled flower behind his ear.

"thank you," he says, lips parted to reveal brilliant whites, dimples sinking the sides of his cheeks. his praise seems to please the comfey, evident in her chiming and squeaking. guiding her to sit atop his head, he turns his attention to the speaking man.

"got that did you? i was half-way convinced annalise henderson was just going to eat it herself." the woman was a glutton, despite the lithe figure she maintained. honestly, he had no idea how she did it.

he places that thought to the back of his mind however as the itch of battle begins to settle in his blood.

"so," he starts, rubbing his hands together excitedly, "what pokemon did you want to work on?"

greyson's hand reflexively goes to rub the stubble on his chin.

"a lot of people - myself included - make the mistake of thinking conventional training methods will typically work for mythical, and legendary pokemon." his eyes lift up slightly and beyond Guillermo Marceliño , recounting his own attempts at training his zeraora.

"that doesn't mean that it can't, only that it's not the norm, so to speak. i've found that, if you don't have weeks, or even months to build up a trust with your pokemon - you speedrun it so to speak by-"

he hefts a pokeball in his hands, tossing it up and down.

"-pure old combat. if you can't work together organically, you build the bridge with battles."

he raises an eyebrow.

"you down?"
