Hubris is the downfall of man. [break][break]

He thought he was invincible, he thought he could take on whoever and whatever, how humbling this experience would be for him then. He spots greyson charging up the solar blade and Noah throwing a massive slab of rock at Xerneas and Alcremie. He rushes forward, trying to move away from the solar beam as he takes a jab at the stone plate as Xerneas and Alcremie assist in destroying it with a Focus blast and a Dazzling gleam. [break][break]

However it would prove to be fatal, while dealing with 's massive slab of terrain slicing. Bryan's primary right hand was exposed, he was stuck in his pivot when the solar blade was brought down on him, he tried to move out of the way but.. [break][break]

His hand was still in the path of it when it was brought down and was cut clean off. He screams in agony, falling to his knees and cursing wildly as the red blood splattered in globs against the purple inky floor. "YOU MOTHER FUCKERS." he screams into the air as Xerneas and Alcremie move into position to retaliate, this was exactly what Xerneas had warned him during his battle with . [break][break]

He was immortal, not all powerful. [break][break]

Alcremie takes the lead, tapping the gemstone on his ear to activate the mega evolution. Alcremie begins to grow into a larger size and Xerneas instructs it in bryan's place "Use your abilities young one. We must buy time to leave." he says ordering alcremie as bryan was out of comission at the moment.

Alcremie uses G-MAX Finale to push back against the two and at least stop Bryan's bleeding as he screamed in agony. "MY HAND" he shouts at them. "You FUCKER" he says as he quickly uses his free hand to grab the one that fell off..Maybe they could attach it back if he was quick enough.. (it wouldn't work) [break][break]

He had to start making his retreat soon before they managed to figure out a way to capture him. He couldn't be dead weight for rocket or he'd lose all his leverage as the tough guy. "Xerneas, Blind them." he says as Xerneas begins to channel GEOMANCY

"NO!" he yells, embedding the tip of the blade into the earth, and leveraging it to half-push, half-pull himself to his feet. greyson leaves it buried in the sediment, allowing the steel-type to act of her own volition, as he reaches for a ball at his waist.

a trilling pidgeot takes to the skies, her form already suffused with the light of MEGA EVOLUTION. as the g-max finale buffets their side of the field, the pidgeot responds in kind. an empowered HURRICANE forms, from the top down, over the charging legendary and his companions.

the mega machamp's fists effulge orange energy. leaping from stalagmites, the machamp tracks the alcremie's projectiles by this orange glow, smashing as many milky missiles as it can.[break][break]

however, the GEOMANCY acts as a flashbang. several projectiles still make it past, slamming onto the earth with squelches.[break][break]

It had been the first time in a very long long time that Xerneas had lost his composure as he cries out in pain and Bryan takes a portion of the damage himself but he holds on tight. The move consumes both Xerneas and Alcremie as Xerneas unleashes the BLINDING LIGHT of geomancy and alcremie spews out an explosion of AROMATIC MIST [break][break]

The tree of life begins to wither away and Xerneas takes control of the situation, manipulating the tree itself to make contact with it as he scoops up bryan onto his body and they retreat away. However while the dust settles Bryan's voice can be heard "I'm coming back for both of you. Just you fucking wait you rats. The league's time is up." [break][break]

As the tree withers, it eventually dies out turning to ashes as the Ultra Deep Sea attempts to fuse with it and consume the resources for itself to no avail. Elsewhere, the tree root that Xerneas had manipulate just barely manages to break "earth" if that's what you can even call it. as it spat the three of them out. Alcremie fainted in the chaos and it's mega evolution peeters out and Bryan cries in pain as he looks at his hand, the wound closely slowly yet painfully as Xerneas falls to it's knees. Those two had done serious damage to it. "Delarosa. We must keep running lest one who is immortal cannot keep his connection with you." [break][break]

"Fine. Stay in your pokeball for now, I'll let you out when we're not in danger." he says as xerneas took priority over everything else. How far he had fallen.

the pidgeot hovers over the field for a few seconds longer, before her massive form loops back to the ground level. the brilliant plumage that accomponied her mega-evolution sways lazily in the dying winds of her hurricane.
[break][break]
exhaustion settles into greyson's bones, and the agony that accompanied his broken arm becomes more and more apparent as the adrenaline of their battle begins to tapers off. he falls to one knee, left arm hanging limply at his side, the other gripping the hilt of his blade so tightly that it left his hand trembling.
[break][break]
"fuck." his words start off as a whisper, but as the frustration of this entire day mounts, greyson's voice begins to take on a more strained, tantrum-like tone. "fuck. fuck. fuck. FUCK." the last of it is said with such force and anger, that it lingers as a haunting echo for several seconds.
[break][break]
eventually, even that fight is taken out of him. greyson falls back onto his ass, then to his back, breathing raggedly. his eyes lift to the sky above, watching as traces of 's z-move begin to dissolve.
[break][break]
"we were so fucking close." whether he's talking to , to himself, or to no-one at all, is entirely unclear. "so fucking close." frustrated tears threaten the corner of his eyes, and he wipes them away with his one good arm.
[break][break]
"next time i see him." the vow he makes his binding, and if he wasn't mistaken, not one-way. greyson's eyes close, too exhausted to care about their current predicament. already he could feel the release that awaited him with just a thought.

"get.. us back.. ace..."
[break][break]
then, pushed to the brink from a day of non-stop combat, and too mentally incoherent to fight the encroaching pain of his limb, greyson slips into the void of unconsciousness.
