The thick atmosphere felt like hands coiled around her throat. Every additional step felt like an additional finger tightened and poised to siphon another slip of air from her lungs. It pained her in a way that felt indescribable to anyone who'd never experienced it.

BotH gave a firm nod before taking their place, Altaria in the sky and camerupt beside her. If someone was lurking, it was only a matter of time before she would weed them out from the flicking shadows.

priam holds the musharna over his head, walking around the interdream zone in an attempt to clear it up. the comparable properties of the dream mist and the interdream zone lets priam test out his ideas to a surprising result.

the legendary mark glows faintly as he traverses through the zone's edge while his musharna chips away at the dreams, only to stop when it shudders to forewarn its trainer that they weren't alone.

a quick scan around the area lets him find a lone councilwoman on a trip. before she sees him, he starts to tuck his musharna close to him, slinking into the mists as another pokemon gets released and fires off the first shot.

a blob of poison flies to the target, before dropping both the projectile and the altaria to the ground with the use of gravity.

The blob of poison and thwamp of gravity goes all but unnoticed by the trio.

Even then, Penelope barely managed to escape its sluggish drop.

"Aara!"

The altaria gave off a loud shriek as it fell down to the ground, poison biting into its fluffy wings. It took a short shake to get it all off, but even then, its sticky nature clung to the ground, making flight nearly impossible.

Which meant they were forced to deal with their defenses as it were.

"Aara, Mist! kalaraq, Stealth Rock!"
[break][break]

As if to create a fortress of defense, the councilwoman's pokemon took to their surroundings, letting out a blanket of heavy MIST to not only act as protection, but to conceal the STEALTH ROCKS that now littered the field.

he would have ran away and continued his search since she wasn't going on the offensive but realized that exposing his back to the enemy would going to incur consequences.

a glow on his arm remains. the mist acts as an extension of the interdream zone, evening out the battlefield. he thinks of his options, but finds his head blanked out.

priam stares at his musharna, who may have taken a sample of his daydreams alongside the mist, clouding every vision he has of immediate victory.

"you're paying for this." he takes his musharna, shoving something in its grasps, and then throws it on the last known location of their target.

the musharna goes flying, hitting every stealth rock in the way, as it lands near where the councilwoman and her pokemon were. as it forewarns her of imminent danger, the musharna activates the item it held, marking the area with a loud sound from a scatterbang.

dark energy ooze upwards from the ground as they surround the musharna, covering those around the pokemon with a miasma after the psychic-type has done its job of revealing their targets.

Beak sliding open, a striking pulse of purple pooled out from its mouth, sending forth a DRAGON PULSE. It was directly aimed at the direction the musharna had dropped from.

musharna opens its eyes as it gets a direct hit from the altaria's dragon pulse. it turns it's attention back to the creeping interdream zone in an attempt to recuperate health with dream eater.

it chokes, unable to distinguish dream mist as regular mist, as it attempts to ingest both.

the miasma finally brings out another party. priam and his samurott pops out of it, with his pokemon charging straight at her camerupt with the strike of a phantom force in an attempt to tip it over, all while gravity is still in effect..

he throws in a sticky glob on the ground, just for good measure.

"hello, hello!" he greets. "ain't ya too important to be going around alone?"

The strike of the Phantom Force hit its mark, but not without the resistance of the Camerupt's sudden PROTECT. The barrier, while too weak to defend against the brash attack, still acted with enough strength to create some resistance to the strike, allowing the cow to remain right side up.

But this small victory paled in comparison to the realization it'd brought along.

"Oh fuck off," she spat, then twisted toward her altaria, "Blast them the fuck away, aara!"

The avian took to no break. Despite still being grounded, movement was still granted to his fluffed-up wings, which flapped with great speed, ushering out what would soon become a devasting HURRICANE.

winds start to pick up as the altaria forces them away from its trainer with a hurricane. the move blows them away, with the musharna first, which priam picks up in his arms.

"get your pot shots in while you can!"

a moonblast from the musharna flies towards the altaria, while the samurott, now appearing as a zoroark with its illusion broken, fires a focus blast towards the camerupt on its way out.

the entire party gets thrown a distance away, bringing them back to their starting positions.

Hurricane forced the avian vulnerable, allowing the moonblast to slam into him without remorse. With a cry, the wind came to an abrupt stop. There was no chaos to craft when pain overtakes all semblance of thought. At the same time, Camerupt faced his own level of attack, receiving blows from the harsh FOCUS BLAST.

"You two okay?"

Little could be done. Both Pokémon had received their fair share of licks, and without action, they'll only continue to further fall victim to the scars of war.

"Camerupt, ANICENT POWER."
[Break][break]
The pokemon let out a soft moo as he stomped his foot down on the ground. Out from the granite and rock, several spikes of rock studded ringlets around the trio of villains. Their ends remained sharpened to the touch. Soon they began to glow, outlined in reds and oranges. Then they lifted up form the ground.

Penelope turned to her altaria.

"Another hurricane, Aara!"
[Break][break]
Gusts of wind picked right back up again. Combined with the rock, which now lifted from the ground, a hailstorm of stone had been artificially created.

"ooh, are we doin' contest combinations now?"

the way she combines her moves are akin to one. he's seen similar moves, mostly with water-type moves, though knowing about it wouldn't necessarily mean he can magically counter it.

priam lets go of his musharna, letting it take the brunt of the attack while the zoroark gets chipped by the rest.

"i can do the same!" he says with a hand raised, like a student in a class. "sludge bomb!"

there was no time for the zoroark to lick its wounds. bile from its stomach is regurgitated as it throws balls of toxins towards the other party.

"psybeam, mushy!"

though severely weakened, priam only needs the tiniest of power from the musharna's attack. it's only the reaction that he wants from it.

a psybeam flies from the psychic-type to the sludge bombs, breaking it mid flight. force from the psychic energy allows it to explode, covering a huge area in what was concentrated poison.

From his boyish attitude to the spur of lighthearted jokes, one might grow to forget the stakes associated with a battle quite like this. Not that it mattered - if anything, it only created an opportunity for the valor-stricken woman.

The sludge bomb exploded, coating the field in its concentrated poison. While Camerupt took the brunt end of the toxins, too immobile to avoid its range, the loosening effects of GRAVITY had allowed the altaria just enough time to weasel through its bombardment and return to its place in the sky. Still, some of its purple liquid still managed to nip at his claws and wings.

"Quick, rattle them with EARTHQUAKE."

Though poisoned, the ground type saw no issue with releasing it's shattering weight onto the ground. One foot after another, the ground began to quake, and the ground split into pieces at random.

"Now, while they're distracted, use HYPERBEAM."

While the group sought stability against the shifting landscape, the bird of clouds took the skies, swooping in low enough to take aim with a burst of energy. HYPER BEAM ate at the ground, raw energy condensed into a lethal pillar of light.

it follows that the trend continues with every following move. poison barbs find their way to the poison's point of contact with their opponents following the move, albeit unnoticeable until they take full effect.

the councilwoman starts the counterattack to their flash, albeit highly unnecessary play. the camerupt comes first, of which a retort from priam was almost immediate.

"wait, what are you doin', lady?!" he exclaims in surprise. "mushy, dream eater!"

the steady supply of dream mist from the interdream zone was barely as effective as when it's taken from a sleeping target, but it gives the musharna enough to survive the camerupt's hit. the follow up doesn't hammers in its fate, however.

the zoroark takes a quick decision to run to where the musharna was, throwing it in between them and the altaria's blast. the pokemon gets blasted a distance away, right after blocking the move for them.

"god, lady, take my job already. that shit's gonna get us caved in, you terrorist!"

he's not sure how the integrity of the caves of ultra deep sea is, but with huge battles happening all over at the same time, it's not unlikely. dust and dirt already started drifting down already, alongside pebbles and small rocks.

"focus blast!"

priam points upwards, and the zoroark complies as it gets back on its feet and fires off its attack, flying just past the altaria and towards the ceiling. following the earlier earthquake, the blast takes advantage of the loosened parts of the earth and causes huge chunks of rocks to fall of the opposing party.

The grunt was right, but Penny offered no remorse for the points he'd brought up. In the heat of everything, the casualties from her counterattack were far from her mind. Fortunately, that dangerous line of thinking didn't result in permanent damage today.

The poison BARBS continued to lay its marks on the unsuspecting camerupt. It hurt, over time, but for now, the ground type still managed to stand. It would not learn of its severity until it was too late to prevent further damage.

The rocks come to fall from the heavy FOCUS BLAST, but with CAMERUPT'S PROTECT, both the ground type and his trainer remained safe against the fall. The Altaria, however, was forced to weave and dodge the crumbling rock. It barely made it out, all while recharging from the hyper beam.

rocks and debris would pile on them the moment the barrier falls.

the altaria, forced outside the shield, has to take its full attention to its surroundings in an effort to not get clipped by the rocks. priam takes the opportunity to throw another scatterbang on the bird in an attempt to break its focus.

"sludge bomb."

a sticky solution to cling on its cloud-like wings to clip it from its flight. priam attempts to take advantage of the multitude distractions to finally take the tenacious avian down.
