Callan looked at his sludge soaked ranger pants as they trekked across tepid mud for some sign of a Naganadel nest that had been sighted heading in and out of this particular rift. The goal was first to neutralize the Naganadel, then to potenitally find the Poipole eggs it may have.

Callan's eyes flit from Melody to movement, somewhere. "Let's take a break for a moment." He said, as he leads Melody to a bank nearby with solid footing. His Gardevoir uses Psychic to help take out the sludge from his boots and trousers.

"We know you're there." Callan says out loud, both of them having noticed the movement. "Let's just get this over with can we?"

An uncharacteristical anger overtakes melody and she snaps "Aurora!" she calls out as Melody sends out her Magearna and the pokemon instantly fires off a aura sphere attack at the pokemon. "Get that thing AWAY from me." she shouts as Melody was just barely able to contain her disgust towards that...creature during her battle with Katherine Fairburne.[break][break]

She hates it, it represented every bad thing that happen to her.

"What's up Mel?" Callan grimaced as Melody flung an attack out at the Nihilego. It was not a bad call, Ultra Beasts were often dangerous and aggressive, and it had been tailing them for a good while now.

Stalking was not done alone. But he could never tell with Ultra Beasts, they were an entirely different species of monster that Callan oculdn't quite make heads or tails of.

Regardless, he sent out his Umbreon, Tsuki. It YAWNS at the Nihilego, casting a singular note of sound which would hypnotize the beast to fall unconscious soon.

it doesn't take long for a SAFEGUARD to shimmer over the nihilego, keeping it safe from the effects of YAWN. the two elite four members would also easily recognize it given their vast experience in battling.[break][break]

so they should be able to expect what follows as well.[break][break]

an ambush.[break][break]

the nihilego whips a tentacle at Melody Miro in an attempt to POISON JAB her. at the same time, POISON BARBS are scattered all around them.[break][break]

Callan asks her what's wrong and Melody had too long of a rant to give and not enough time to explain it all. "I hate them! They're how rocket controlled me!" she says as suddenly the safeguard protect the pokemon from falling asleep. [break][break]

Could it even learn that move? Melody had no idea but it was suspicious. [break][break]

However that didn't matter "Aurora help me!" she calls out as the magearna uses defense curl to roll over in front of melody, the force of the attack still pushing them back but the poison splatters against the steel bodied magearna having no other effect otherwise. "Hydro cannon!" she shouts as magearna puts both of her arm cannons together and fires a massive blast of water. [break][break]

The realm began to whisper in her ear again, telling her that her life would be easier if she just fell asleep again.

Callan didn't have time to respond to Melody as they were attacked. If it was just one Pokemon, it would have been fine, but the effects of SAFEGUARD seemed to have covered the field on their end, preventing the use of Status, and thus his Umbreon wasn't able to put the Nihilego to sleep.

Barbs of poison, like toxic spikes, scattered around both himself and Melody. His Umbreon was struck by some of these barbs, as it DETECTS several coming towards Callan and leaps in the way protecting its trainer. "Thank you Tsuki." He calls out, as it becomes POISONED, though not for long. "SPARKLY SWIRL!" Callan yells out, as a tornado of fairy energy turns into a virtual hurricane, levelling the entire swampy forest in front of both Melody and Callan to clear out the terrain. Bits of STICKY GLOB, as they were near a Poipole nest, as well as the POISON BARBS scattered on their end of the field, travel via the wind out towards the Nihilego and whatever else had been hiding within the swamps.

HYDRO CANNON pummels into the nihilego, buffeting it back as STICKY GLOBS pins it against a nearby rock surface. the SAFEGUARD keeps it and them safe from the POISON BARBS, however.[break][break]

Melody and Magearna grab onto a nearby rock to brave the surf as she'd rather not get sent swept away and become food for some kind of tentacle monster. [break][break]

"What is using these moves?! Nihilego cant use these moves! It's not a zoroark either.." she says wondering if this is another anomaly that macarena man talked about. [break][break]

"Callan! Do you have Gholdengo?" she asks as she was familiar with the ghost steel type now during their challenge as she recalls her magearna and sends out Chatot and Melody was about to let it rip. She grabs her Tera orb and it begins to glimmer with a dazzling light as it encapsulates her chatot and place a massive gem like crown on it's head and it terastalizes into normal typing. "Chatot! Boom burst!" she orders as using it's newfound strength from this terastalization cranked up the boomburst to an even higher level hoping to hit anyone else who was lurking in the shadows.

"I can keep using boomburst over and over and force him out, gholdengo would be immune!" she advises him allowing him to decide what was best for his team as she sends out another pokeball. She sends out her haunter in an attempt to have it look around for trainer who was lurking nearby, there HAD to be one. [break][break]

However while she was talking to Callan, she got distracted as she was suddenly restrained by the grass knot as the milotic reveals herself and suddenly they're stuck in a blizzard. She yelps but besides the freeze cold weather buffering her she was ok as the sygnasuit added some protection. [break][break]

The haunter emerges from the shadow, attempting to use LICK on Milotic.

Well, he certainly did not want to die here. "PROTECT!" He orders, once again, as Tony creates a psychic barrier around himself and Melody as the hail pelts into the barrier. Once it passes, it returns fire with MAKE IT RAIN against both MILOTIC and NIHILEGO.A coin encircles Callan and Melody, as it begins to saw into the hewn GRASS KNOT, trying to free both of the trainers.

milotic is LICKED. it shivers in response but is otherwise fine.[break][break]

still relatively unfamiliar with paldean pokemon, theo doesn't realize the potency of the MAKE IT RAIN attack until it's pummelling into nihilego's jelly-like body.[break][break]

milotic lunges up to try and take some of the attack for the ultra beast. after, it whips its DRAGON TAIL at the haunter, intending on smacking it away.[break][break]

similarly, nihilego's PSYCHIC looks to crush the haunter.[break][break]
