with his one good foot, he temporarily detaches himself from his braviary with a kick.

scatterbangs meet him, causing an excruciating pain in the ears when they detonate, getting priam to close his ears with his hands. it doesn't blind him, however.

unable to hear due to being deafened, priam has no means of communicating with his pokemon. stuck in its old habits, it takes the move squarely for an opportunity to shake the ceiling atop of them, causing rocks to fall.

the sheer force of the rock tomb tries to catch the charizard while it was busy with its move.

he would respond to matias, but he figured it wouldn't matter much, especially since he throws another scatterbang back at him so he wouldn't be able to hear it anyways.

he shoves his hands in his pockets as he floats over the ground, like a fish in its own aquarium. the charizard takes the moment to repel the attack, but ultimately goes back to targeting priam.

turning its back to the braviary would be its undoing.

matias would have seen the similar attack from the borders. a red beam fires off from its beak, blasting towards the charizard from its head first. being in contact with the move would inflict petrification on touch.

oblivion wing was rarely used by priam, but the situation calls for it this time.

pokemon are tools. nothing more, nothing less. this is a sentiment he shares with rocket, oddly enough, and it's one he has always felt.[break][break]

it's why he has no issues with cracking open a pokeball to let his exeggcute take the attack in charizard's stead.[break][break]

the OBLIVION WING connects, turning eggs to stone, and one after the other, they fall.[break][break]

without breaking vision, his hand feels through the pouch attached on his belt. he takes a mysterious ore and then throws it against the cavern ceiling, creating a growth that starts to block a path between them.

"w-well, take care of miss eva," he asks for him. "she's not going to like this development..."
he whispers to himself.

unaware of the turmoil between the elite four and Eva Morales, he piles on the guilt he already afflicted to himself. putting it into words just made it feel heavier in his stomach.

as a parting gift, a hurricane blows matias' party away, or at least hinder their advance towards them now that they've backed off.
