I'm almost there, don't engage until—" A blur in the skies momentarily blinds her. The creature's screech echoes over the device, nearly deafening Katherine before a wince washes over her features.

"I-It's too fast! What the hell is this thing?!" As if on cue, the creature roars again, coming to a halt far away from the Malevolent. Roaring Moon reveals itself then, the beat of its wings strong enough to whip a storm into life.

”looks kinda like a salamence. but that’s weird. we haven’t been seeing pokemon variants in these rifts.”[break][break]

The creature was comfortable with merely participating in a stare-off with Katherine and her Nihilego, but the arrival of boruta maher and his Aerodactyl is enough to threaten Roaring Moon to the point it can no longer fly near them harmlessly.

"Well, whatever this creature is, it's feral! We have to deal with it before it decides to focus on our forces!"

A thunderous roar echoes past them before the dragon blitzes into action, nearing the duo at remarkable speed before its maw opens and it breathes flames into life. They sizzle and hiss through the air, almost engulfing Bo and Katherine until a SPIKY SHIELD materializes around them.

The verdant dome remains impenetrable and successfully holds off the fire, but the heat is noticeable all the same. "Be prepared to attack when it stops its flamethrower. Aim for attacks that cover large areas if they're not exceptionally fast."

katherine’s instruction that followed made him smile to himself. as shitty as this whole situation was, it was kind of cool to be battling alongside one of the elite four.[break][break]

as they carved through the air, the keystone at bo's hip was activated. his aerodactyl's form glowed. rock formations jutting from its features as it mega-evolved, before lining up their target. he whistled. ”get ‘em, girl!”[break][break]

aerodactyl’s toothy maw parted, meteor beam exploding in a silvery roar towards the paradox.[break][break]

The mega Aerodactyl could surely provide sufficient force to drive away the Salamence-like Pokemon; all Katherine and Nihilego had to do was support boruta maher and his Pokemon during this time.

The creature's FLAMETHROWER continued to burn against her Ultra Beast's barrier until the moment the METEOR BEAM shot at it. That exact moment of reprieve was all the Malevolent needed before instructing her partner further, requesting a DAZZLING GLEAM from her Nihilego.

Not to strike or to harm but, instead, to blind the wild paradox Pokemon. Its subsequent SCALE SHOT is erratic, for its sight was gone. The lack of direction behind the attack prevents the creature from gunning them down.

But not for long.

The DAZZLING GLEAM was a temporary solution. With its sight restored, the creature redirected its fury towards its main assailant - boruta maher 's Aerodactyl.

once it had regained its vision, and turned towards them, he was ready.[break][break]

bo and his aerodactyl led the dragon as quickly as they could downward, and through a rocky gorge. stone edge caused stones to jut out and slam into the dragon, throwing off its aim and speed just enough.[break][break]

when they could practically feel its breath at their backs, his aerodactyl went sharply upward, stalling there just in time for the roaring moon to slip under them and keep on sailing ahead. the perfect shot.[break][break]

the mega aerodactyl glowed white, and a silvery ancient power fired off at the paradox pokémon. he watched as it zipped away at that point, probably having had enough at its disadvantages.[break][break]

flying back towards katherine, bo shook his head. ”that thing was wild. did you see any more of ‘em?”[break][break]

"No, this is the first time I've seen one of these," but then again, Katherine had only visited this realm once before. Perhaps they were more common-- perhaps someone forgot to report them-- perhaps someone did, and it slipped her mind... But even she couldn't believe that.

"Whatever that Pokemon was, it's too risky to let them roam near our forces. We're prepared for Rocket but not whatever that was. It could jeopardize this whole thing," the Malevolent doesn't outright say it, but she expects a promise from boruta maher. If she can't allow it, then neither can he.

”i’ll warn others to keep a look-out, and try to get a patrol together—unless you wanna go after it?” it was implied that he’d follow if that was the case. [break][break]
