I HAVE TO GET OUT. That is the only thought in Sergei's mind as he scrambles to get Commander Wise the treatment she deserves. While he's lucky that Valiant recovers easily with the League camp's treatment, the tatsugiri, on the other hand, is struggling.

The nurse tells him his Pokemon probably needs treatment away from the site, where they are away from exposure of the realm's mindtrickery. Sergei himself is not safe from its claws. Each and every time his exhaustion gets the best of him, he finds it increasily difficult to control. It is not only hallucinations, distortions of reality that affects him but also his amplified feelings of resentment and regret are exploding inside him.

Rushing, running, Sergei eventually finds himself at one exit that leads back to the region. Bliss, contentment, there is an exasperated laughter that escapes him as he tries to reach back for hte light. But things are not looking pretty for him, not without any obstacle he has to clear for himself.

"I don't know who you are. But can you at least make a consideration and let me get out of here without any struggle?"

There's a lot less urgency in Alba's mind, though with the position he's taken for himself, it's kind of like he's taking it easy. Compared with running around, getting attacked by League agents, and getting lost in the Interdream Zone, hanging around and picking off the stragglers trying to break free is like a breeze. …Well, except for when it's not.[break][break]

Speaking of stragglers, a particularly desperate one was heading his way. At least, you had to be desperate if you were trying to bargain with the enemy, right?[break][break]

"Don't you know the rules? When two Trainers' eyes meet, it's time for them to battle." Though the idea of meeting eyes lost a bit of its weight when one pair was hidden behind a mask. "Besides, just letting the enemy through without any hassle… I'm pretty sure my bosses won't be too happy with me if they hear about that."[break][break]

A Poké Ball sails through the air, and a Whimsicott gently drifts down to the ground. "I don't have a clue who you are either, so at least it's not personal, mm?" It was just the way of the world. Sometimes people got in each other's way, just because they had to.

There is a seething annoyance in every word that comes out of the Rocket grunt's mouth. If the situation is not too time-pressing and critical for Sergei, he would have joined and be in for some jest party. But after his run into the other grunts in the organization with Callan Young, there is no way he and his party will not be exhausted.

In a dash, he reaches out for Valiant's ball, throwing him in retaliation with the summoned whimsicott. "What eyes?" The garchomp scrapes the ground, SAND VEIL forming as he drags the bits and pieces into the enemy's direction (SAND TOMB), hoping to reach into the grunt's eyes.

"So do I." He responds, trying to sound more teasing than angry. "It's just that we have an emergency to tend to. If you don't let us out, we have no other choice but to force you."

And the battle begins.[break][break]

"Please, Whimsicott?" Alba calls out as the tomb of sand flies towards him. It's a vague request, but the Pokémon seems to catch onto what her trainer means, hopping in front to take the full force of the attack. Sand in the eyes and everything.[break][break]

'Better her than me', that's the long and short of it. He can't afford to let this guy just blind him then slip past.[break][break]

His opponent says something interesting, though. "An emergency? Well, why didn't you say so earlier? What's the problem, stranger?" The Grunt sounds genuinely interested in Sergei's woes, talking with the tone you'd use in casual conversation, even as he hurls a poison barb towards the Garchomp. They're still in a battle, after all.

The poison barb is quick, piercing through the dragon's flesh in less than a second, stinging the garchomp of the venom from its legs. Valiant, however, could not care less: whatever ground-typing it possesses will not make it suffer from the toxin, at least for the time being. And so Sergei realizes, the clock is ticking.

"Don't patronize me, psycho. You guys are the problem!"

As he helps his partner pull out the barb, he reaches for a SCATTER BANG in his satchel, hurling the weapon into the opponent's direction in order to turn the tides into his momentum. If the flash of light works, it will give Valiant time to setup his offensive: the land BULLDOZES through, sending boulders and rocks towards the rocket grunt.

"Psycho?! I'm not even trying to patronise you, you dumb— ugh!" As Alba starts to snap back at Sergei, the scatter bang goes off, turning his and Whimsicott's visions into spots dancing on white. It's only natural that the earthen attack strikes true after that. Shards of rock pummel the both of them, and the carefree air around the grunt begins to slip.[break][break]

"Moonblast." His vision is still hazy, the enemy not much more than a blur of colour. If he had to guess, his partner was suffering the same way. Still, what would happen if they held back now? More rocks and boulders, to bleed them dry.

"You obviously do! You Rockets are the reason why my tatsugiri's hurting right now." It is bad enough that Sergei has not trained garchomp to be capable of handling disadvantageous battles, but he does not expect a whimsicott to be the one beating his ace. Luckily, the attack is not enough to knock him off that easily. "I just hope you don't think a double battle is too late now."

Sergei has to use everything that he has in his arsenal, and if it means having to send a lifeline to his garchomp buddy, then let the grunt call him a cheater in the battle.

"Sanguine, support Valiant." The dreepy then appoears out of the red light, hovering around the garchomp and clearly has no idea what is going on. "Valiant, hit 'em with another BULLDOZE!"

The larger dragon stomps and hits the ground, sending rock shards and sand on the opposite side of the battlefield. Hopefully slowening the enemy enough from the previous hit, the dreepy then follows up with INFESTATION riding through the wave of earth. Sergei has probably no real exit strategy: he probably just have to hit and hit until the rocket is tired enough... or if he actually wins this thing.

"Yeah, when Pokémon battle, they tend to get hurt. If you're complaining about that, go declare war on the millions of Trainers in the world instead of just us!" Then the tide of battle changes, as the runaway sends out a second Pokémon to the field.[break][break]

"Cheater," Alba remarks, though he doesn't sound bothered by the change in dynamics. The barrage of attacks seems to be a little too much for Whimsicott though, as she starts to sway and fall right before being recalled to her Poké Ball.[break][break]

He's not annoyed by the switch to a Double Battle, perhaps, but the Team Rocket grunt is definitely not happy about the change in the tide. Musharna and Porygon hit the field, firing off a Psychic and Tri Attack respectively.

Alba Evovae's words make him laugh—"I don't think you guys know what's a real and proper battle etiquette."

Seeing his strategy works is enough for Sergei but the grunt decides to launch a counterattack against his team. This time, he copies the strategy and barrages a series of attack against his Pokemon. The Psychic that hit first his dreepy chips off at his health like a scratch but the Tri Attack is enough to send him ailing. "Sanguine, come back."

Sergei has no other choice; apart from the fact that his garchomp is a ticking timebomb, he has run out of Pokemon. The only one he can call now is his tatsugiri. "See? Now, look what you made me do."

Commander Wise appears out of her ball but it is obvious it is experiencing something it cannot explain. Perhaps, it is the interdream leaking, the hysteria it causes anyone who has been around the field.

"Valiant, make the most out of it! Commander Wise, do not push yourself too much, okay? But go and support him!"

The garchomp lunges itself, poised to CRUNCH into the musharna's flesh. Commander Wise really is incapacitated to move, but her HELPING HAND is helpful in boosting the dragon's attack. He just need to make this advantageous to her in numbers once again, and then this will surely be a win.

"Damnit…" The boosted attack is more than a match for the Drowzing Pokémon, who lets out a shrill drone before collapsing to the floor. Clicking his tongue, the grunt returns her to her Poké Ball, before simply standing there for a few seconds, torn up about how to proceed.[break][break]

"Alright, fine!" With a bitter sigh, Alba returns his Porygon as well, before stepping aside. "You win, got it? The path is open to you, hero, or whatever I'm supposed to say in a situation like this." An ironic flourish accompanies his words, just to drive the point home.[break][break]

"...No prize money, though. And if you don't mind mentioning that it was a struggle to get past me, I'd appreciate it. All things considered, I've been pretty good to you, yeah? And one good turn deserves another, like they say." There wouldn't be any getting around the fact that he'd lost the fight, but maybe he could limit how badly he reflected on him.
