He grew up with little his parents barely able to feed him and his five brothers. There were days he would do without just because his parents couldn’t bring food to the table or because he decided to give his siblings his share.

Years passed without the predicament of his family changing. And that eventually took a toll on his parents who ended up dying. At fifteen he had to abandon his dream of becoming a Pokémon master and return home where he struggled to take care of his five siblings.

He got a job keeping his families predicament a secret. That was until he met her anyway.

A girl named Alyss and he first met her when he saved her life from a wild Pokémon. How was he to know she was nobility. It was something he didn’t know until she and her father showed up at his house. And how did they know where he lived anyway?

Upon meeting her father he was surprised when the king offered to take him and his siblings under his wing as repayment for him saving his daughter. He even offered him a place as one of his knights finding his courageous actions befitting of a knight.

Things were happening fast but he knew that this could give his siblings a better chance at life so he readily agreed to the nobleman’s terms.

At sixteen he found himself knighted with the task of protecting the Princess from harm. To help her he was given two eevee who would help him to guard her.

It was a job he took to and he was determined to do it right even if his Alyss was constantly trying to get him to lighten up seeing him more as a friend and a companion, than her protector. He tried to keep a professional front up around her especially when he started to develop feelings for her. A knight and a princess would never work, she would be expected to marry another noble. He knew this so he kept how he felt hidden.

It was something he didn’t think he would ever regret until things fell apart. One night a group of people attacked. Him and his fellow knights tried to defend the family but there were just too many. One of the attackers got close enough to strike him over the head.

The next thing he knows he’s waking up to find everyone else but him and his Pokémon dead and the attackers gone. He stays long enough to bury everyone before fleeing. He wanders from place to place not really paying attention to where he is and just going through the motions.

It isn’t until he finds himself in Hoenn that he comes back to himself. It isn’t long before he learns of what is going on around Hoenn and he decides to join the league as an officer knowing he’ll have to go through training first.

But he’ll get through it. He’ll put an end to Team Rockets deeds. And this time he’ll protect everyone or die trying. This time he won’t fail them.
