"Fourteen, huh?" Soyeon asked, glancing Aaron over again before reaching to pat his head. "And good answer. I'm 24 myself. So I was pretty close for an educated guess." Already a teenager and answering that forbidden question question one asked women as a last resort in aces. He truly was as fearless as he claimed.

They each got ready for battle as the Porygon2 hovered back over towards the two. She was curious about how good her most technical Pokemon could be against a Durant, although she'd have to be certain to give this all that she would have. She did have Ignis, but she didn't want to make this completely one sided out of the gate. Soyeon smiled, showing the normal type some affection before it would jitter around and look down at the Durent before it. It chirped, crackled(?) and maybe rotated around as Soyeon looked to Aaron. "I'll let you have the first move, Battle Master Aaron."

Seemed he got the correct guess. While his face didn't show it, Aaron was very much relieved. And didn't do anything to stop the head pat or anything, he was quite used to it. Twenty four huh...that still seemed young to him, so that just showed how talented the woman was. If Rocket was going to coerce someone to do research, they sure picked a talented one.

Soyeon decided to use Porygon2 against his Durant. An interesting choice. More so since she wanted him to do the first move. Very well. "I'm no master, but if you insist. Dig, plan A." Some Pokemon he had wired certain strategies/combinations to do. This was one of them, specifically for Durant. The steel bug dived into the sand, becoming virtually untouchable. Well, aside from certain ground type moves. But he highly doubted the Porygon2 knew any of those. From directly underneath, Durant would try to hit the normal type, then used his mandibles to clench down with an attempted Vice Grip, attempting to pull the artificial Pokemon down the same hole Durant made if he managed to snag them.

Soyeon was surprised by the Durant digging into the ground, suddenly latching onto the Porygon2 as it would vibrate on its clutches of the steel type. It wriggled a bit as Soyeon would begin to panic. How was she supposed to get out of this one? "H-Hey! You can't- Gah!" She frowned, trying to wrack her mind around what she could do against such a battle. The steely bug was slowly dragging Proto inside of the tunnel it had made as the Porygon2 stuttered ever so slightly. The scientist wracked her brain around a solution, until she'd wing whatever might be able to help.

"Zap Cannon!" She called, Proto rolling its main body downwards into the hole as it crackled with electricity. A small orb was created in front of it before aiming at the Durant and firing it off. Once it was done, she'd frown and continue up. Regardless if it hit or not, Soyeon did hatch the beginnings of a plan. "Proto! Conversion 2!" The Porygon2 shimmered, engulfed in a bright light for a bit, its DNA rearranging itself before it would take on a more ethereal appearance. Its typing had changed from the normal type attack it had been hit with, changing it into a ghost type.

"Plan A? Did you teach all of your Pokemon different strategies?" Soyeon asked Aaron, looking at the young trainer while she'd have to formulate a plan of her own inside of her head.

Seemed the surprise of Dig really made her think. Really, there was very few attacks that you could do that would be able to hit a Pokemon using Dig, but he doubted Porygon2 had any. But it did possess a very powerful electric-type attack that it used directly underneath it. At such point blank range, even the highly inaccurate move still hit Durant hard. Poor thing was barely hanging in there due to his poor special defense. But most importantly, he was paralyzed, and was force to let go. As the Porygon2 used Conversion 2, Aaron followed it up with an attack. "Iron Head." With a glowing white head, the ant lunged out, though no where near as fast as it would have normally thanks to the paralysis.

"Certain combinations, yes. Such as Double Team and then Bullet Punch for my Scizor. Or Trevenant's combination of Leech Seed, Ingrain, and intermitant use of Horn Leech or Drain punch following repeated use of Wood Hammer. Or if he's stuck fighting a fire or dark type. Durant, X-Scissor." Durant's mandibles turned green as it lunged again for a physical attack. Round one was looking like it may go to her if she reacted fast enough to Durant's attack. Poor buddy couldn't handle special attacks well, and Porygon2 was usually a special attacker...

Hm, so this was having an idea for what a single Pokémon could do, was it? It did make sense that he'd have some way to kind of plan to take advantage of whatever scenario that may pop up while raiding Rocket bases. Soyeon had to give it to her little hero here, he certainly was keen when it came to battling. "Did you learn that while fighting Rocket?" she teased as the next round came up.

The Durant was slowed by the electric attack, but not out of the fight just yet. It lurched forward, attempting to slam its mandible into the Porygon2. Soyeon would get an idea, deciding to lean into Aaron's attack. "Catch it, Proto!" The Porygon2 ramped itself against the Durant's attack, chirping as it struggled to avoid getting damaged by the sudden force. It put up a fight but managed to use the combined forces of its head and wings to clutch the ant's head before it bounded away.

As it bounced forward for another attack, Soyeon would have it just where she wanted. "All or nothing! Hyper Beam!" Proto's entire body shook as it expelled a massive amount of energy. The Porygon2 let forth a massive beam in the direction of the charging Durant. Regardless of whether or not it hit, the Porygon would stumble about as it needed to recharge after the attack. It's body wobble about, with arms drooping to the ground while it's head tried to stay upright.

"No. I was already doing that with my Pokemon." Some natural strategies for each one of his team. Synergies between moves. Heck, some of them weren't even more battling types, but support types, to be as annoying as humanly possible. He had roles for them. Some of them were a combination, like his Skarmory, setting up entry hazards then Sandstorm. Whatever the case, he had an idea for each one.

Either way, she had some interesting counters. First, using its little feet and head, showing flexibility in the manmade Pokemon, and managed to whether the storm. It allowed the creature to use Hyper Beam, hitting the ant's mandibles and after a brief struggle, an explosion. When the dust settled, Durant was knocked out. That Zap Cannon really hurt, and even though it wasn't very effective, that Hyper Beam still finished him off. Oh well, poor little guy. Returning him, Aaron offered the guy some encouragement. "You did just fine. Just a bad opponent, don't worry about it." With a nod, Togedemaru jumped in. And now to take advantage of the recharging Porygon2. "Zing Zap." Electricity surged around the steel/electric type as it curled into a ball, and ping ponged around to try to hit the normal type.

Once it landed, the Togedemaru hopped from side to side, moving his paws like it wanted some. And hopefully he was faster, or another Zap Cannon might be on its way. "Use Bounce." With a hop, spin, and bounce from his back, the rodent launched himself up in the air, too high for most attacks to reach. It kind of amused Aaron that it was a flying type attack, and couldn't help but wonder about the origin of such a move...
