Soyeon watched Ana sit up from the table, following suit shortly after and allowing herself to feel just a tad more excited for functioning a daily basis without the trauma inside of her head. It had been so long since she could focus on something for a change, so it was a welcome little reprieve. "Take care, Ms. Fell. Oh, and if you ever need anything..." Soyeon quickly took out a pen from her jacket and quickly scribbled down her phone number. Lavender colored ink rested on the scrap of paper along with her signature, complete with a heart at the end. "Feel free to call me. Or visit the Mauville Astrological Society." [break][break]

She broke away afterwards, waving at the two as Vacoule wobbled beside her as they made their back back to the lab. [break][break]

Going As a Panicked Mom For Halloween [M][O]

Soyeon sat in front of a most horrific sight in front of her. There was Zinnia, the lively young lass, being taken by a nefarious looking figure. The shadows danced along the wall while the scientist would feel bits of dread go down her spine. This monster in front of her held Calpurnia's youngling in hand, and shielding him. Soyeon cursed to herself while the other woman hurried behind her with the haste of a worried parent. "Don't try anything!" Soyeon warned her superior, motioning to the sight before them. "What sick Pokemon would do something like this to a child?" she hissed at the Hypno, before it would begin to glow a soft pink. Soyeon darts in front of Calpurnia to tank the majority of the Psychic attack, and is pushed back into the other woman from the pushback. [break][break]

"I'm fine." Soyeon replied, trying to find her footing as the mental effects of the attack forced her to be a bit scatterbrained. "I...don't have much to fit in here. But I have one!" Her hands dug into her coat pockets and threw out what she thought was her Iron Bundle, only for her Metagross to appear before the party. Ferrous took up about 70% of the tunnels here, but was still able to fit inside. "Ugh, sorry! I...Ferrous try and get her back!" [break][break]

The Metagross let out a series of pleased chirps before it surrounded itself in psychic energy as it too used PSYCHIC. Instead of damage both, it was attempting to pull Zinnia back towards them and out of the grasp of the Hypno. Soyeon stumbled on her way to try and push herself up onto two feet again, letting out an annoyed whine. "I would kill for a rose bath right about now." she thought to herself, huffing out loud. "I couldn't really think of a better name in the heat of the moment." Soyeon at her little difficulty naming the young Bulbasaur. "But yes, his name is, indeed, Vacoule. I named him after the cytoplasm of a cell. I figured it would be fitting for a grass type like the Bulbasaur family line. I'm not entire too familiar with their genetic make up, but a colleague of mine assured me that they do have them!...I think." [break][break]

The Scientist leaned back in her seat and smiled, happy to geek out a bit with her nerd talk and studies. "A lot of my studies have been surrounding Ultra Space and astrology, though I have branched out into terastal and dynamax energy." [break][break]

"Seven PM works for me. I'll be sure to bring everything I need for this to be successful."

Soyeon did still reserve some frustrations from this woman pushing aside such clear warnings, but her offer was shot down. The best she could do was to watch from afar and hope that Ana wasn't going to accidentally erase herself fully one day. Or far, far worse. "Good memories, experiences, that shouldn't be too hard to find. I've already got one right here." The baby Bulbasaur on the table continued to explore around as Soyeon smirked to herself, a finger gently stroking the top of its head. The rough, toad-like skin was a bit oily against her bare finger, but it didn't phase her as much as it used to. "I was out on "business" when I found a stray egg in the wild, just unattended. I searched around for the owner or mother for a while but never found them. That's when Vacoule hatched and I decided to take care of him." [break][break]

To corroborate the story, the Bulbasaur let out a pleased noise and continued to enjoy her attention. Soyeon hadn't really credited him as such, but he was the reason she sometimes would find a way out of bed at times. It helped having something that relied on you to live, and she definitely had used him to vent or confess some of her more intimate thoughts about. "Other than that, I'll get as much as I can. Thank you again, Ms. Fell. I'll very truly owe you if this works." [break][break]

The Lunatone floating all around the altar was quite the curious find indeed! Soyeon couldn't help but try and think of just how they might have gotten to where they were, although something did eat away at her. This many just making their home here did suggest that they had some kind of relationship to this place. Was it their home, or something that drew them here? Whatever the case may have been, the two of them would need to clear this if they wanted to investigate further. [break][break]

"Right. I'll be right behind you." She gave a confident nod and then made her move, though stumbled a bit at the strange energies coming from this place. It was almost like some kind of force was pushing her away. The Kartana folded itself into a more proper form, helping with the negative feelings that had swarmed around them.[break][break]

"Whatever that energy is feels...icky." It was a rather childish description for such an educated mind, but such was an apt summary of the vibes here. Her hands dug onto her belt and threw out a pokeball that summoned forth her Decidueye. He let out a calm series of chirps before Soyeon would make her move to begin the plan. She stepped in front of the stairway with her Pokémon as it nocked several arrows inside of its wingspan. "Let's cover for Elinor, Razor Leaf!" The Decidueye took a long stride forward into an archer's kneel before firing off several green tinted "shots" at the Lunatone in front of it. With several reeling back from the surprise attack and some few being downed from it, the majority of the attention was on the scientist and her companion. [break][break]

The arrows and leaves few masterfully with Artemis' aim. Precious few shots managed to miss their mark, though with each one felled, more Lunatone appeared to come out to defend their home. "You have an opening, Ms. Anderson! We'll take care of any stray Lunatone!"[break][break]

"Still, you should be careful. I'm saying this as a person, not a patient relying on you." Soyeon warned Ana a bit quicker than usual. She had seen this type before, even in Rocket. Somebody who talked up a big game about things but somehow managed to continuously put off their health either because they wouldn't or couldn't summon forth some self-reflection and seek help. But really, who was she to offer up such chastising thoughts about. She continued to frown, but gave Ana another soft look of concern. Her hand fell back onto Ana's. "You better take care of yourself. Don't make me worry for your health if you won't." [break][break]

That serious look soon faded away into embarrassment as the scientist realized the scene and its interpretations and backed off abruptly. "Sorry, I just-" Another moment of hesitation came while Soyeon took a moment to exhale and furrow her brows at her thoughts. She had come this far into the admission, so why not go the entire way? The woman's eyes rose up from the table after a while and shot her a look. "I know...knew a few coworkers that were the same way. Maybe it's just because I'm behind a desk while everyone else is doing something more important, but I don't want to lose anybody else if I can help it. Most of us Rockets pair up with each other. Not because we're forced to, but because nobody else will." [break][break]

Vacoule laid out on the table, tipping his head to look at Ana's Pokémon curiously. [break][break]

The woman had really been too keen on how the human mind worked in terms of moving things around and cutting out things that should remain inside of it. Ana did have some minor experience in it which put aside some worries, even if only temporarily. Soyeon was curious about her briefing session about how she performed this on herself as a test subject. It was worrying, though the scientist didn't want to start pressing her about information that was going to be overly personal, such as this. "You have to keep doing this to yourself? That's rather...worrying." She had already said it before, and would continue to keep apologizing for what life had done to this woman. What horrors or anything could she had experienced to make somebody want to discover a process to remove memories out of another human being? It was a frightening concept, one that she couldn't ever see herself making. [break][break]

"But that does shine a bit more light on how it works. I guess the more memories or experiences that you want removed, the more maintenance is required to erase it? Or at least, in your case, a full erasure is something that isn't just as simple as a doctor's appointment." Her eyes settled on Ana, once again, an apologetic silence was all that she gave as while Ana would go a little more into depth about how everything worked. While she spoke, Soyeon didn't interrupt her allow her attention to go anywhere else. She gave the other woman her full attention and leaned forward. She even was happy to really listen to anything is specific detail like this, with her interest at an all time high. [break][break]

When Ana finished, she blinked and allowed herself to digest everything. "This is all so fascinating. I'd love to sit down and see the full explanation one day. I could see how something like this could improve somebody's health, or even save a life." [break][break]

As if she needed to see an excuse to go back into Ultra Space! Soyeon received the invitation from Elinor while in the middle of cleaning off her desk. By the the message was three minutes old, she was already out of the lab and on her way to meet with the woman once more. Soyeon had been doing better since she spent the better half of a few days recovering after that nasty little burn wound. Her skin had some hints and pieces of being burned, though nothing beyond a minor blemish now. AT seeing the other woman, Soyeon gave her the same beaming smirk. [break][break]

"Always a pleasure to work alongside you, Ms. Anderson." The scientist gave a bow of the head and followed her inside of the womrhole leading to the Ultra Crater once more. This time, Elinor had brought a Kartana of her own. With any luck, it could hopefully talk down any attacking Ultra Beasts before things got too hectic once again. Or, worst case scenario, give them an advantage to cut through things for an escape route. At least this time there wouldn't be any Celesteela! They followed the Kartana as it led them through the barren landscape... [break][break]

After a lengthy walk of nothing of importance, the party found themselves before a great set of stairs. Climbing to the top, they were treated to quite the sight indeed. A strange altar, with the shape face in the stone resembling that of a moon. Scattered across the surface were agitated Lunatones. They traveled frequently, and looked as if something had disturbed them. "How peculiar. It's an alatr, but for what purpose?" Soyeon observed, taking out her tablet and making a few notes to herself. "I can't image something this grandiose would be for something minor. But first things first, we should deal with its guardians first." [break][break]

- 39 encounter a mysterious and large altar in the realm or on the moon. clear the area of threats, including hostile lunatone, for a future visit.

It was going to be a shit day when it came time for her to relieve the memory that had been plaguing her for a while now. Soyeon had been fully expecting her to just carve out that memory like a slice of cake and remove it without any worry, and now here she was, being told she was going to have to go through that same horrifying memory. "I-If it will make the suffering stop..." Her expression turned grave for a moment while self-doubt had returned to anchor the woman to her tortured spirit. But if Ana could at least offer some kind of guidance, Soyeon would put on her bravest face and give this thing her all! "Then I'll do it." Yeah, that was the spirit! She could do this, especially with somebody who had done it countless times before! [break][break]

Except that Ana had only done it once more, and that was only really on herself. So she was going to be the deciding factor in if it was doable on others? It wasn't the most comforting answer that Soyeon could really hear right after she agreed to this little shindig. In fact, some could have called it the worst thing! But Soyeon was too far in to pull out now. All there was to do was to go forward and see things through. [break][break]

"I don't know whether that helped or harmed my opinion of this procedure, but you're brave for going through with this. Even in your position, I don't know any other person would go ahead with something of this nature. How did you figure out all the complexities of the human mind without cutting out something important?" [break][break]

Ultra Crater: SE #1

With a bit of quick thinking, Elinor had quickly used a Z-Move with her Aggron and carved a path forward in front of them. The powerful aquatic move had pushed most loose vegetation and more away from their position. The many baby Celesteela had been silenced from the force of the Hydro Vortex, alongside the Kartana being pushed away with the flood. They were afforded a chance to take a breath and think of where to go from here. [break][break]

"Wonderfully executed." Soyeon smiled at Elinor. The Metagross let out a series of noises in agreement and lowered one of its arms to help Soyeon up. After she was good to go, the scientist pointed at one pathway in the clearing, leading away from the pathway of baby Celesteela and more. "This way, Elinor! We'll leave through here and figure out a way back." [break][break]

Her Metagross led the journey into the pathway, his large size making his unable to really bending or do much besides just barreling through and clearing a wider area for the others to get through to. There weren't any other Pokémon in the way to make things difficult so far, and as far as Soyeon as concerned, it was meant to be all the better. She exhaled, grunting to herself as she walked as the bits of numbed skin that were not fully nullified offered little pricks and pinches. A lay down on her couch and a cool icy bath was surely in her future somewhere. [break][break]

Once they were far enough away, Soyeon stopped and take a rest on top of her Metagross. "That was a close one. I was hoping to get a bit more data from this excursion, but my livelihood is much more important than data and numbers. But at least I know not to be careful with white clouds now." Soyeon laughed a little at her own follies, but behind the bruised ego was a curious spirit that could never be put down! "Thank you for your assistance again. I'd love to partner with you once more should you ever wish to return to Ultra Space once more." [break][break]

Soyeon felt Ana's hand make contact with her barren wrist. Her eyes gently fell onto the onto as the other woman's fingers rested on top of her limb. She remained silent for a moment, debating about whether or not she should go in depth about the nightmares and more, but pushing it aside. If Ana wasn't one to be affected by that warning about the murder, then she must have been steeled enough to do with the aftereffects. [break][break]

"Thank you. I haven't really told anybody else. I can't, for obvious reasons, b-but it's not something I can just tell anybody." A sniffled came from Soyeon's nose. She gazed into Ana's eyes with the look of desperation. She was at the end of her rope with how to deal with any of this and it showed. The circles under her eyes painted a picture far more revealing than any kind of explanation could have. "I just want to be able to have a good night's sleep for a change. I'm having somebody else force me asleep at this point because of the night terrors. But I'll be happy to gather whatever we need to make this happen." [break][break]

Vacoule shoved his head underneath one of Soyeon's hands as letting out another happy grunt. Out of habit, she began to rub at the rough skin of the Bulbasaur. His vines were still short, but they coiled around her wrist in a sign of enjoying the sensation. Soyeon was troubled over whether or not dabbling with her mind was a good idea in the long run, but nothing else had really worked thus far. So Ana was going to be her last hope. "How long have you been doing this sort of thing again?" [break][break]

I'm Soyeon, the Head Astronomer at the Mauville Observatory & Planetarium located in Mauville. We mainly serve to study the world beyond ours and educate the people of Hoenn about what we do. [break][break]

A lot of our work is very thoroughly dedicated to space, though I've gone through some liberties to venture into Ultra Space worlds to study the life present. [break][break]

It was, at best, a band aid on an issue that otherwise would need a couple of more little treatments, but at the very least, Soyeon felt numb enough to move around without causing much more pain to herself. She pushed herself up again and took a moment to steady herself as another Kartana bounced off of the Aggron's body. The medicine had made her a little less red, but all in all, Soyeon was back up and ready. "Thank you." she flashed an appreciative smile at ELinor as the two continued to stay put where they were. [break][break]

"I'm not as knowledgeable as somebody dedicated to studying Pokémon, but I can tell. The Celesteela here are fresh. I'd barely say maybe a week, at best. You can tell based on the coloring. It's still not their pale green color. You can just barely make out the green pigments." Her finger pointed to the baby Celesteela just by the Protect radius, their showing the scientist's words in action. "I would imagine the Kartana work in tandem with them, be it willing or a side effect of their screams. It's a trap where they can attack any intruders...or us." She offered a shrug. [break][break]

"Regardless, we can't exploit Kartana's weakness because of the gas, so we'll just have to do this the hard way." Soyeon reached into her belt for a Pokeball and the threw it outside of the barrier. In a flash of light, her Metagross would let out a series of robotic chirps and hums as it stood alongside the fellow steel type. Kartana would bounce off of Ferrous, dealing some minor damage, but annoying the Metagross. "Make us a path, Ferrous!" [break][break]

The Metagross rose two of its arms, watching the speeding Kartana ricochet around it. After pausing for a moment, it raced forward to slam its arms down at the Kartana in front of it as it used HAMMER ARM. While not catching all of the attackers, it did get several so that the two women could afford to breath. "Do you have anything that could maybe blow them all out of the way? This might take a while if we try this method..." [break][break]

Soyeon had needed a break from the constant work and requests of her back at the lab. She usually had spent her time off resting in the park or spending some time at a local cafe. But what had gotten on her mind today was the recently announced Safari Zone's updated new arrivals for the month. Some of the Pokémon would be used for a most nefarious purpose. One that the Wardens likely would have kicked her out had they learned as such. [break][break]

"This should be an interesting safari." Soyeon stretched her arms some, checking the four safari balls on her belt alongside her Porygon2, the anomaly darting around them while the scientist nodded to the staff members in front of the gate. They stood aside as the gate opened up in front of the woman. With her heart held high, Soyeon began to walk through and into the dense grasslands. [break][break]
