He’s been told that they’re calling it a slither wing.

Which sorta makes sense, but also what does that even mean? Lam peers up at the massive, fuzzy bug as it sails through the air— happy to be set free for a more proper flight. Anxiety has bled into his desire to set it loose again in the time since he first caught it in the interdream zone.

But now curiosity has weighed on him enough to warrant a test run. It’s not until the moth lands in front of him, gold wings fluttering and catching the light that Lam realizes how big this paradox Pokémon is. And how fluffy.

Will it even listen to him? He scans the data entry tied to it again as it stares a hole into him. He can only hope, really.

A vullaby decided she wants to pick a fight way out of her league. Wings fluffed up, she screeches at the slither wing.

Before Lam can instruct the oversized bug, though, it lashes out—clearly unamused with the small fry’s challenge. With a shrill clicking, it unleashes its SUPER POWER on the vullaby. Far too much for the baby bird, and she goes hurtling away. Effectively yeeted.

Lam’s jaw hangs open as he stares at the slither wing. “Oh. You pack a punch.”

A crooked grin slips across his face as he watches the slither wing, though still careful to keep his distance somewhat. What do slither wings like? He's never considered himself a bug person, but it's so fluffy. And wild and powerful. It's kind of difficult not to be compelled by the strange pokemon.

"Shoo uhhhh...that away?" his hand swings to point at a ledian that's drawn close. He doesn't exactly expect the overgrown moth to listen, but to his surprise, it does. Barreling forward, it uses FLAME CHARGE to knock the other bug flying.

Lam's smile grows wider, and finally, as the slither wing flutters back down to the ground, he chances those few first steps forward.

Lam blinks rapidly, a slow grin continuing to spread across his face as he observes the slither wing. It really was a force to be reckoned with in its own right. It was a wonder he was able to successfully catch the creature. “Wonder if you got a soft spot, though…”

From his pocket he pulled out some berries in offering. A curious swablu fluttered down and landed on his head. Interested, the slither wing shuffled forward to inspect the offering, only to turn away with a haughty sniff. “Okay, we’ll figure out what you like eventually,” Lam said with a laugh, hand raising above his head to offer them to the wild swablu instead.
