IF VALIANT IS HIS SCINTILLATING SWORD, ENIGMA IS HIS BELLIGERENT BULWARK. The speed of a garchomp can pierce through any wall but Enigma, in its own might, can prove to be a stellar waller.

Caught in the skirmish at the Ultra Deep Sea, what others affectionately call 'roaring moon' has been the subject of Sergei's recent curiosity. Its perfectly moon-shaped wings mimic the perfect shield in the face of war. If his theories are proven true, perhaps roaring moon's undeniable resemblance with salamence may not just be in its silhouette.

"Thanks for agreeing to this battle! After all, when trainers' eyes meet, there is no escaping a battle, right?"

If anything, it counts for more valuable practice - more opportunity to improve so that he won't feel as if he's falling short in ways he can't forget about after his experiences in the deep sea. Now, at least, he's not ramped up with nerves.

His typical, laidback nature is more than obvious - hands in his pockets and posture slouching. Though this doesn't at all mean, "Yeah, 'course! It's no problem." He flashes the redhead a thumbs up, "Exactly, though! Who'd wanna turn down a friendly spar?"

In a bright beam of light, the massive slither wing flutters free before thudding against the ground. it's wings flap rapidly, as if shaking them loose, and a noisy, trilling sound rumbles in the paradox pokemon's throat. "Been curious how this one'll fare in battle, anyway! So it's win-win, I think!"

Moth man, as he's been affectionately referring to the currently unnamed creature, shakes its fluffy body as it readies itself. Less noticeable, his togekiss remains floating alongside Lam, level with his shoulder - waiting patiently.

SERGEI IS IN AWE TO SEE THE SLITHER WING BUZZ ITS WINGS, another Pokemon he has never seen before. Roaring Moon howls at its opponent, seemingly recognizing it from a similar origin.

"I guess my Enigma here has a new friend, eh?" He then eyes the Togekiss behind the other person, steadies his gaze to notice it and then smiles. "How about we make this more interesting: a double battle?"

He cannot just fight with a shield, after all.

Valiant the Garchomp leaps in-front of the field as well, his scythe-like fins as if unsheathed, waiting for a command. Sergei gestures for lam logan, his hand regarding his direction. "After you?"

[attr="class","sam-banner-up-blurb"] “Looks like it!” Lam laughs as the roaring moon makes its greeting—moth man responds in kind with a shrill sort of coo as it shakes its fuzzy white fur? feathers? fluff? out.

He looks down at Egg in silent question, head tilting. The togekiss trills her agreement before zipping forward to join the field. “Sounds good to me! I haven’t tried teaming up my new buddy here with anyone yet, so it’ll be interesting, to say the least.”

Egg’s temperament is patient enough to work with any potential unpredictability, though. And double battles are Lam’s personal preference so the whole battle seems to be on the upswing, regardless of outcome in his opinion.

Lam shoots Sergei a grin, followed by a set of finger guns. “You got it, dude!” His attention shifts, fixating on the slither wing. “Aight, you heard him—Let’s give them something good to work with!”

The gargantuan insect’s wings beat rapidly, propelling it into the air as it wastes no time in barreling for the large dragon. Intent on smacking it with enough force to make a notable FIRST IMPRESSION! The togekiss meanwhile drifts in her counterpart’s wake, eyeing the sharp fins of the garchomp as she opts to keep her distance.

A shimmering FAIRY WIND stirs up around Egg before channeling in the opposite direction in an attempt to buffet the garchomp back.

IN THE MIDST OF THE BATTLE, Sergei is quick enough to let out his roto-tablets: one to record the battle and one on his side to take note of live observations.

"I hope you don't mind! This is a research work, after all!" He happily squeals.

"Looking like a Volcarona, then that must be a bug-type as well. Especially with that move!" Sergei watches as the SLITHER WING cannonballs itself into Enigma. The Roaring Moon did not foresee the attack and is dragged down into the ground. Valiant, on the other hand, is targeted by the Togekiss's FAIRY WIND on its own: but the Garchomp makes the clever attempt to DIG and dodge the attack while waiting for an opportunity to strike.

"Nice moves! Let us get retaliate with this." Roaring Moon soon finds it footing once more and soars into the sky. It mimics the shape of a crescent moon with its wings but the creature reveals its deceit upon sending a solar HEAT WAVE into the Slither Wing's direction.

[attr="class","sam-banner-up-blurb"]The roto-tablets whir around, and Lam follows them with his eyes–head tilting curiously as he watches them begin to record the battle taking off around them. When Sergei offers an explanation, understanding finally dawns over him.

Lam grins, then waves a hand casually. “Not at all! Smart move, actually!”

Maybe he’d ask to have a copy of the recording sent his way afterward–not really for research, so much as battle strategy study. He can always learn from how he battles in real time, right?

“It does, doesn’t it? Just fluffier…and, uh, way bigger.” The moth lets out a shrill noise of triumph as it manages to successfully bowl the roaring moon over. Packs as much punch as Lam anticipated, even without using some of the other moves in its moveset. Which, speaking of…

“Maybe so, but it’s full of surprises!” Lam calls back as the dragon tears away. The slither wing pursues, lifting into the sky on golden wings–only to shriek as the HEAT WEAVES singe its body and causes it to drop in the air. It hovers in the air for a moment, collecting itself before driving upward and aiming to barrel into its opponent’s belly with SUPER POWER.

As the two behemoths take to the sky, his togekiss flits about the makeshift arena, aimlessly trying to predict where the garchomp might erupt from the earth. “Multitask!” he encourages Egg, who begins her own two-fold attack. Slowly, the togekiss’ pale body begins to synthesize with the sun, absorbing energy for a gathering SOLAR BEAM.
