So what brings an Ultramodern woman like Xenon Civitas Antheil to some back corner of the world like Route 102? Well for one, it's pretty stupid to assume that Xenon ever needs a reason to do anything, things like reasoning and logic are artifacts of the past that she shuns in their totality. But if she was really pressed to give a reason as to why she's here, it's actually surprisingly simple for such an enigmatic woman.

She was here to train her Beldum.

Yes yes, it's rather staggering to hear, her Pokemon don't in fact come fully trained the moment she catches them. Even someone as great and genius as the Ultramodern Maniac needs to put in just the slightest bit of effort into training the baby Beldum, tossing it into the fray against Rattattas and Pidgeys to teach it how to properly use its body to smash the wild pokemon into the dirt.

She had been at this for the past day or so, camping out in the wilderness and attacking Pokemon at random while Argon and Radon dutifully watched over the baby Chromium, but the routine had rather drastically changed as the group felt... something tingling at the back of their necks. Something about the space around them was off, colors seemed just a little too saturated, the static in the air raised the hairs on Xenon's arms, the length of her steps was just slightly off. She licks her lips and calls Chromium back towards her as it finishes slamming its body into a stray Lillipup, a rather odd sight to see on Route 102...

"I think we might have just found something much more interesting to investigate team..." But rather than trepidation or anxiety, Xenon can't help but feel a little excited as she packs up her camp and starts walking deeper into the forest, following the sound of buzzing wings and cheerful yelling to a small clearing right in the middle of a large group of trees. But she doesn't announce her presence. She stares at Shalin Nariya as she trains with her Beedrill.... and she sits down to wait. Wait for whatever was about to come.

A clap of thunder sounds the beginning as the distortion fully forms, space and time bending into incomprehensible forms around the group as colors swirl and blend into alien shades unseen by mortal men. She should be a little more scared of what was going to happen, she knew what kinds of things happened in a Space Time Distortion, she had read the Rocket Reports from other survivors, but all she thinks right now is how damn excited she is to get a first hand look at this kind of phenomenon!

Her Pokemon share little of her enthusiasm as they crowd tightly around her to protect her from the oncoming rush of Alpha Pokemon emerging from the void, a ginormous Bewear bursting through the tree cover and charging them with murder in their eyes. "Argon, Sludge Bomb." There's not a hint of fear in her voice as she calmly orders the Gengar forwards into the fray, a rather stark contrast to the Gengar himself as he lets out a shrill cry and flies forwards to attack the Alpha Bewear with a massive glob of poisonous gunk. Just in time to knock it down before it could throw down a brutal Hammer Arm into that Beedrill as well, a happy accident or a purposeful choice from a normally cruel girl?

"You should watch your back a bit more closely, your insides almost got splattered all over the outside." Xenon calls out cheerfully as she continues sitting against her tree and observing the fallen Bewear, already getting back up with murder in its eyes and darkness in its palm as it gets ready for some Payback.

Xenon's only reply to the girl's thanks is a dismissive grunt, followed by an amused chuckle as she watches the massive bug latch onto the Bewear's head to scramble its brains with a rattling buzz. She was even fooled into thinking that was all it took to take down the massive alpha pokemon as it fell over into a slumped pile of bear, which made it all the more surprising when it suddenly curled up and spun directly into the Yanmega, utterly demolishing the poor bug in one blow. And then it began to turn for a second spin, directly at her.

"Oh shit." She mutters as she quickly scrambles up to leap to the side, just barely out of the way as the Bewear smashes through the tree she was resting against and shooting a hail of wooden shrapnel through her clothes and right into her skin. Xenon hisses in pain as she rolls through the grass, but she has the presence of mind to stop herself and turn to face the raging alpha as it begins to turn once again to make another run at her. This time she was ready though. "Radon, Rollout!" The Scolipede doesn't even hesitate as it curls into a ball and begins carving a trench into the forest floor, spinning right into the side of the Bewear as it tries to ram into her and throwing it wildly off course. And thus the Rollout battle begins.

This didn't mean that Shalin was safe by any means however, while Xenon focused her attention on the Alpha Bewear that was trying to kill her, she would have to deal with the ominous drone of an approaching Alpha Orbeetle as it rips a half dozen trees from the ground with psychic power, throwing them right at the wild woman and plunging her into yet another fight against an absolute monster.

Spinning masses of chitin and fur clash against one another to rock the forest with their reverberations, waves of pressure threatening to knock Xenon off her feet as she digs her heels into the dirt to hold herself steady for further commands. Radon wasn't looking too good as she endures yet another Rollout from the alpha pokemon rampaging about, but she could endure still as she charges into the spinning beast with yet further speed and power. The Bewear on the other hand looked to be running out of steam as its spinning finally stops and it uncurls its body, a weak growl escaping its snout as it glares at the approaching Scolipede.

With maximum power Radon slams right into the alpha Bewear, grinding bladed chitin and venomous quills into its body and pushing it to the ground to finish it off, yet the monster continues to Endure even with all its injuries. A silver aura envelops its form as it slowly begins to stand even under all that power, grabbing the Scolipede's heft in a powerful bear hug and lifting off the ground to stop her spin before slamming her back into the ground in a Superpowered show of strength and wrath.

Meanwhile on Shalin's side, her strategy bore little fruit as the Orbeetle seamlessly switched onto the defensive, those same trees that had been swung around like a baseball bat now being used as shields to protect itself from the barrage of Twineedle attacks. A few would make it through of course, minor cuts and scrapes making themselves apparent on the alpha's body, but this would not be what finished this monster off as it spins yet another tree through the air at the Beedrill, swatting the injured Queen Zing like just another bee buzzing about to bother it.

A dozen Poison Jabs thrust into the rampaging Bewear as it lifts Radon up off the ground, but there's simply no stopping this Superpower as the fluffy plush of death slams the Scolipede back down into the ground with all of its strength, knocking the bug into unconsciousness as it proclaims its victory to the world of distortion with a furious roar of victory. Its rather unfortunate then that that victory is so incredibly short lived as a swirling orange ball of energy smashes into the back of the plush's head and finishes the alpha pokemon off, courtesy of Argon as he releases the Focus Blast and moves back to Xenon's side.

"I don't need or want your help. All I need is to study whatever the hell is going on here before it ends, this is probably one of those space time distortions I've heard so much about." The girl rambles aloud as she pulls out her phone and pulls up some sort of scanning app, recording the data on the energy running rampant all around them while Argon stays vigilant for more threats around. Chromium meanwhile was simply staying by Xenon's side and observing everything, curious red eye following her every movement and inputting all the information it was receiving from the fascinating new world it had been dumped into by her...

It was unexpected for such a docile trainer's pokemon to lash out so viciously against a mere child who had done nothing wrong, Xenon didn't even have time to blink before the unknown beast had raked a vicious cut into Chromium's body and sent it tumbling into the dirt with a shrill metallic shriek. She should be incensed, for anything to harm her beloved symbol of the future was a sin beyond measure, or so she had thought before while taking care of the precious Beldum. But as she looked upon its shivering frame and the sheared metal, she smiles and recalls the pokemon back into its pokeball.

"That pokemon... I've never seen a breed of wolfsbane such as that." Xenon remarks coolly as she recalls all her Pokemon save for Argon, the Gengar hovering at her side as she turns to walk away. "You would do best to trim that bud regularly, lest you find yourself on the receiving end of its poisonous prick. Or don't, some flowers can only blossom when drowned in blood. Those are my favorite kinds of plants." She leaves no room to respond as she disappears into the forest, measuring the energy of the Distortion with a skip in her step and the wind at her back.
