It's not meant to be rude, or shit, or nothin' like that. In fact, as Magnus watches her trace patterns on his chest, he can see the conflict that was going on in her mind. Golden eyes watched her, waiting for an answer. One that he knew was coming.[break][break]

Magnus was a good judge of character, at least, he thought he was. He can tell that kind of shit in a person. When they felt lost, when they felt homeless. Without a family? To a degree, that's what Orthrus was; a family beyond blood. His own mother ratted him out when he was young, and for what? Because he kicked his father's ass for being so anti-family.[break][break]

In a way, that's what Orthrus was to him; a family.[break][break]

So when she pauses, to hold a hand over her face, crying, he pulls her closer to him. Her insecurity answers, and he responds. "Come here." He smiles. He pulls her to a kiss, only to stop, and give her a very soft smirk.[break][break]

"Bullshit. And you know it."[break][break]

It was. She didn't want to intrude? Not needing her? "You're right. We don't need anyone. But I want you there. We got some real lookers. My number two, @marshall? He's a bike kinda guy. Love'em like a brother. Then you got @keira, and let's be real; she's like a babysitter for most of us. Because we're both stupid. Then you got ozias ambrose, and let's just say, he can knock heads around-"[break][break]

Magnus starts telling her about his family. Orthrus. The family he cherished every day. By time he got all of them that were in currently, he smirks.[break][break]

"How about it? Wanna run with the dogs?"

Leilani felt so embarrassed at this current moment. She normally wouldn't bear her soul to someone she didn't know. She was usually quite good at keeping her emotions to herself so she wasn't quite sure why right now had to be the moment she broke. But once again, Magnus was full of surprises. [break][break]

When she felt her weakest she felt him gently pull her closer and embrace her. "Come here." he whispered to her. There was no hint of malice or judgement in his voice. Rather it was the sweetest tone of sincerity. "Bullshit. And you know it." he called her out on her poorly attempted façade. He could see right through her like she was some sort of open book. It made her feel so vulnerable and exposed. Even more so than their naked bodies tangled up in each other.[break][break]

"You're right. We don't need anyone. But I want you there." Those were the magic words that Leilani needed to hear again. She felt her lip tremble again as more tears threatened to spill but she actively fought against. Magnus went on to list the names of those she imagined were closest to him. His family. The way he gushes about them she can tell he loves them. In the deepest part of herself Leilani wondered what it would be like to be part of that picture with them. Would she be happy like this too?[break][break]

"How about it? Wanna run with the dogs?" Magnus asked her again. She was given another chance. Would she go against what her heart desires and continue to shut herself off to everyone? Or would she take a chance with this scary man who seemed to see through her so well? Lani was silent for a moment before she sniffed, "Okay." she said softly before her tear stained face peaked through her fingers. "But you have to take care of me." she said with a small smile. "Promise?"

There's nothing to be embarassed about. Held close now, Magnus just gives her a smirk. Running with the wolves was a big commitment. A big life choice. It's a scary thing, giving one's all for a cause, but to some it's like saving them from their ivory towers. Magnus ain't a hero. Sure as hell not Prince Charming, whisking away the damsel.[break][break]

But when she says okay, it felt like it. But her demand, her condition has him nod.[break][break]

"Taking care of my princess..." He swishes it in his mouth. Gets a feel for the idea. He's... it's weird. He's uncertain why. "Yeah. I can do that." He moves down this time, kissing down her body, and back up, before looking down, under the covers.[break][break]
