She had been requested to help someone train their dragon Pokémon. Her own Noivern snaked around her, warmly cuddling up to her as the heat from mt chimney kept the dragons warm.[break][break]

She knew his name, and that was pretty much it. It didn't take much for her to want to help others, especially when other Pokémon who'd benefit from it were involved.

Caleb trudged over the lip of the cliffside he was currently climbing, breathing heavily and wondering if this was really worth the effort. Did dragons actually prefer to train somewhere like Mt. Chimney or was that just a myth? Couldn't Pokémon train anywhere? Even Lyra, a water/ice type, could help out on a mission that took place on dry land, couldn't she? So what was the point of all this...[break][break]
He glanced at Hex. The Haxorus looked about as happy as he ever did, nothing out of the ordinary.[break][break]
Caleb hadn't even wanted to do this at all, but since learning that Zev had put his name back on the Rocket hit list, well...he might as well get a little extra practice in. He could hold his own against one assassin, but many? His mood darkened as he remembered how hard it had been to fight off even one Rocket in the Ultra Deep Sea, let alone his fight against Zev himself...[break][break]
Caleb stopped in his tracks. There was a woman sitting patiently on a rock right in the middle of the area he had been told to go to for this training session. He'd expected some grizzled Ranger veteran or something but this was...not that.[break][break]
For one, he recognized her. She was a member of the Elite Four. And some kind of idol, right?[break][break]
And two, she was incredibly beautiful. TV screens didn't do her justice.[break][break]
"Er, hey there," he greeted , quickly fixing his slouch and trying to look cooler than some dude who'd just sweated his way up a mountain while thinking about his stupid, evil brother. "I'm Caleb."

Melody smiles at him as she manages to finally connect a name to a face and it was a rather pleasant face to look at. However she snaps out of it, Melody waves at him "Caleb! Hi! I'm Melody, Melody Miro." she says as she formally introduces herself. [break][break]

She's sitting on a higher ledge on the path of mt chimney as a noivern reveals itself, coiling around her defensively as she continues to smile at him happily and places a hand on her noivern to put him at ease. The noivern stares at the stranger and hisses, Melody pouts and places a hand on him as the dragon eases up. "Don't mind him, he looks scary but he's like a giant cat. This is my noivern, Airpod. He's gonna try and help us today with whipping your dragon into shape!" [break][break]

She tilts her head as she looks at him with a curious gaze "So what dragon of yours are we training?"

She didn't need to introduce herself, but the way she did so anyway was rather endearing. As if she didn't actually expect everyone to know her, even though she was famous. As if the benefit of the doubt was a gift to be given to every stranger who happened upon her in real life and not through streaming her music or watching her on TV.[break][break]

"He considers himself pretty strong already, but I convinced him to give your training program a shot." Caleb flashed her a grin. "A little practice never hurt anyone, right?"[break][break]Even as he said it, however, he realized that he didn't really feel like bringing up Zev. Or his own failings. Or the fact that he used to be an assassin. Better to just focus on the dragons...[break][break]

Melody tilts her head at the dragon and it's trainer.[break][break]

Her noivern mimics her movement but mirrored as the two moved in perfect sync with one another. She however, abruptly claps her hands snapping Noivern out of their little routine. Melody jumps off the little ledge she was sitting on as asks her what she had prepared for them both. She walks around the pair, using her hands to create L-Shape figures to examine the pair of them as if she was sizing them up. [break][break]

"I see I see.." she mutters to herself as she lets her artistic eye take over and formulate a plan of action. "Oh! Easy we'll just battle! If I push you guys into a corner your haxorus will have no other option but to work with you and grow!"[break][break]

"Or get beaten and learn he isn't as strong as he thinks he is." she says speaking to the dragon directly as she gives him the world's most smug smirk, taunting him as she knew a dragon's ego was typically the bane of it's existence. "What do you say, up for a little bout with lil ol me?" she says moving over to the area and turning around with her hands interlocked behind her back as she shifted her weight from the heels of her feet to the very tips of her toes.

Melody bounced lightly on her feet, back and forth like a beautiful pendulum, her entire demeanor buoyant and bright. It was hard to believe she was really a member of the Elite 4, given her gentle personality and cutesy appearance. She seemed like the sort of woman more likely to bring you chocolates and a bouquet of flowers than to kick your ass in a gritty Pokémon battle. Yet, he knew her reputation: she was formidable. Underestimating her was probably something many folks did, and it likely always gave her an advantage.[break][break]
Hex wasted no time focusing his energy, eyes glinting as he powered up with a LASER FOCUS. Melody might not look dangerous, but dragons hated mockery - and her eyes were dancing with it, glittering mischievously. With a roar, he slashed at her Noivern with a critical DRAGON CLAW.[break][break]
In theory, not a bad strategy. A powerfully offensive one, however, and Caleb had a feeling Melody would be prepared for just such a showing of brute force.

The noivern had coiled around her and then quickly moved in forward to take the DRAGON CLAW head on. [break][break]

She knew it would be a critical hit that would greatly damage her noivern, however Caleb was right about one thing. She had already been prepared for such a thing, people rarely if ever set up something before hand. "Super sonic." she orders accompanied by a snap of her fingers.[break][break]

The noivern's ears begin to vibrate as suddenly a super sonic frequency began to erupt into the area as the majority of the sound was aimed right towards the dragon in an attempt to confuse it. "Dragon pulse." she then orders as the serpent dragon took to the skies and blue flames erupted from it's maw and cascaded down upon the opponent.

As predicted, Melody knew exactly how to handle an arrogant dragon: disable its ability to attack accurately. Strength was only useful if it could be wielded intelligently.[break][break]
The SUPERSONIC wave of energy slammed into Hex, and he grunted, falling back. His eyes took on a dazed expression as he became confused, and he lumbered about angrily, flustered. Caleb couldn't help but chuckle a little at the ridiculous tantrum, nodding to Melody in approval.[break][break]
The DRAGON PULSE honed in on its target: blue flame clipped the side of the Haxorus, and he yowled in pain. He began to channel his rage, attempting to summon a GIGA IMPACT, but Caleb stepped up to his side, putting a hand to his scaled hide.[break][break]
"Stop," he commanded. "What did we just learn, eh?"[break][break]
Hex paused, energy dissipating. He shook his head, clearing the confusion, then growled sheepishly.[break][break]
"You were reckless," Caleb explained, glancing at Melody. "Airpod was clever. See the difference?"

Caleb backed off, allowing Hex to make his choice. The dragon regarded Melody with a cocked head, expression curious. Finally, he was listening. Learning.[break][break]
Huffing, the Haxorus glanced up at Airpod, then back down at the ground. Seeming to decide something, he started to spin in a circle, slashing the air with his tail. A miniature sandstorm was kicked up around him due to the IRON TAIL, debris flying in all directions. The Noivern would have to fly out of range or come down to Melody's side in order to avoid getting hit by the rocks.[break][break]
"I guess that works," Caleb laughed.

The rough turbulance works. [break][break]

The fact it was not an actual SAND STORM attack meant the debris flying into the air was much larger and more difficult to navigate...and if he injured his wings... [break][break]

Needless to say, he's forced to land. Noivern land's and tries to rush towards the pokemon to use BITE, however it's a much slower pokemon on land making it easy for caleb and haxorus to respond.

Hex gathered himself, leaping fluidly out of the impromptu hole in the ground he'd created by thrashing around with his tail. Without hesitation or - more importantly - taking any time gloat, Hex rushed the grounded Airpod, swiping at him with a DRAGON CLAW.

It bit down on the fellow dragon type, but it proved to be not the most effective attack. A lot of Melody's pokemon were long range fighters, not up close n brawly. [break][break]

When they had finally worked together was when they were able to outwit their opponent. The dragon claw lands it's mark sending her pokemon flying back. "Thereeee you go. Now you're working in sync." [break][break]

"You think you're ready for a real battle together then?" she asks out of curiosity, she wanted to see how good they were now.

Caleb laughed, more amused than exasperated. She was Elite Four, after all. He supposed it made sense that her idea of training would feel, to him, like an actual battle. He could only imagine what fighting her for real would be like.[break][break]
