Kindness was second-nature to a man like Ollie: he gave away his heart to everyone, which meant he reserved it for no-one. Caleb couldn't help but feel as if Ollie was often frivolous with his affection, saying whatever felt polite or compassionate in any given context, without realizing how others might grow to love him for it.[break][break] I'm not in love with Ollie, Caleb scoffed. We're just friends.[break][break] The intensity of Ollie's gaze caught Caleb off guard - is he serious? - but then the other man smiled playfully, and the moment passed.
