Vanilla sat in front of the forest, having her Skeledirge at the ready. The fire and ghost type was back at full health and ready for another round. "For the record, this is stupid." Proxii said, with Vanilla huffing at her partner as she flicked his screen. "This is the only way I'll be able to get this stupid Drapion back. And besides, imagine the help it would be if they were able to join our team!" The girl said, unaware of Thomas watching them from afar. They continued back and forth in their argument for a bit before Vanilla finally physically grabbed Proxii.

"We're doing in and that's final, Proxii."
"What?! Hey, Ow! Stop holding me so tight!"

With Cayenne leading the way through the wooded area, Vanilla began to walk through the area with her eyes on the horizon. "Don't worry, Cayenne. With that Earth Power we bought you, we'll take down that little poison type in no time!"

The first few minutes of the search proved to be somewhat uneventful. Vanilla and her Rotomphone continued on their journey to reunite with that scaled beast and take their revenge on it. The shuffling of grass nearby would catch Vanilla's attention as she quickly made her way over. "Ha! Got you now, Drapion!" She pushed the tall grass away before it would reveal…

Not a Drapion, but a Shelmet!

"That's not a Drapion." Proxii said. Vanilla would shoot him a look before groaning and looking at the curious Shelmet looking up at her. "Still, I hear they're pretty fast when they evolve." He swooped down to its level and took a quick scan while Vanilla considered her options. Fast Pokémon did seem like some sort of benefit for the girl. The Shelmet would look up to the girl, its eyes hovering over Proxii.

"Alright, let's catch it! Do a quick Thunder Wave."

The Rotom popped out of the phone to, as not damage it, before then letting out a pulse of electricity. The bug type caught the brunt of the attack, stuck in place as Vanilla tossed another Pokeball at it. The Shelmet disappeared inside, the pokeball rocking back and forth until a familiar click was inside.

After catching the Shelmet, Vanilla and Proxy would continue on with their hunt for the Drapion, though to little success. Their search took them further through the woods as Cayenne huffed in indignation at their search turning up so flat. Vanilla's hand pat the Skeledirge's head, rubbing the tip of her snout. "It's alright, girl. We'll find it eventually, even if we have to run through this entire forest." It wasn't soon after that an eerie noise would come from around the group. Vanilla stopped on edge, glancing around as did Proxii would flicker around to try and find the source of it.

"That doesn't sound too welcoming." Proxii said, Cayenne crying out in response. The pink haired girl would back away from the ground with her hand on the pokeballs on her belt. Yet something would suddenly tackle into her, striking her back. "Augh!" She tumbled back to Proxii and Cayenne, picking herself up while looking at the culprit: A Spiritomb!

"Vanilla!"
"I-I'm okay. Just winded." she said, looking at Cayenne. "Sorry, Cayenne. I'll throw you out when we find it." She recalled the Skeledirge before then tossing out her Cinderace, Kicker. He'd quickly glare at the Spiritomb, creating a ball of fire while kicking it between his two feet. "Pyro Ball!" Kicker would launch a fast ball towards the wild pokemon, the Spiritomb blasted backwards from the impact of the ball. Proxii snapped a quick scan before another Pokeball was sent towards the Pokemon.

After standing back on her feet, Vanilla would push herself back up on two feet. "That was close. And no, we're not turning around. Let's keep going." she said, glaring at the Rotom as they continued on.

With the Spiritomb caught, Vanilla would need a minute to recover. She huffed, rubbing her chest at the point of impact. "That was a dirty trick, even for a ghost type." she sighed, slowly taking the moment to recover from their ambush. Proxii hovered by while watching as an Anorith scuttled by, catching the two's sights. "I'd offer a potion, but I don't think humans can really use them." Vanilla smirked, rolling her eyes around as she would dig into her pocket and pull out the earring that had belonged to the woman she had met in alternate Galar, Vivian.

"You still haven't told me why you keep focusing on that thing." Proxii reminded her.
"I know. It's just..." Vanilla hesitated. "It's from...somebody I knew. We were close but I never really got to tell her how much she meant to me until it was too late. Even if it's been a while now, it still hurts the same as when it did."
Her head was nudged by her Rotom as he smiled at her. "That just means that you really cared for her. I'm sure she knew how you felt way before you ever told her. Maybe one day, you'll see her again."
"Maybe..."

As they'd sit together, a Masbosstiff would wander close. Vanilla slowly would find it a welcome distraction. SHe'd shove the earring back into her pocket before psyching herself up. "Kicker, Flame Charge!" The CInderace took off at the Mabosstiff at full speed, using his long legs to gain significant ground before slamming into the dog. It flew backwards from the impact, soon having a pokeball collide with it while Vanilla walked over to receive her catch. She watched it rock back and forth for a moment, then looking back to her Rotom.

"I was thinking...How do you think I'd look with black hair?"
"Wh-What?"
"You know. Imagine me with a different hair color."
Proxii blinked, trying to do so. "You'd look weird."
"Gee, thanks for the support, Prox."

"Ugh! This is taking forever." Proxii said, pulling up a tracker on his screen as it would blip with a few signs of life around them. Vanilla watched this display while furrowing her brows in thought. "It could be any one of these blips, so we'll have to check out wach and every one." Her Rotomphone shot her an incredulous look. As if she had just decided to speak in a forgotten language without thinking. When noticing this, she'd mirror his expression.

"There's no sense in that! There's bound to be more the further along we go in checking them! Surely we can just wait for reports to pop up again!"

"That's going to take too long. Besides, nothing can stop us. Not when we have you and the rest of my team! Together, we're-"

PLAP!

Vanilla felt something collide with her face. It squirmed around while she'd muffle out a worrisome screech and try to pry the attacker off of her. "Mmmph! Geeeoffamrrrrrph!" The freaked out bug type would flail about, wiping it's sticky mandible around as sap was thrown everywhere.

"It's just a Grubbin! Hold still!" The Rotom said, crackling as he'd use Thunder Wave and paralyze the bug type that had been frantically trying to pry its sticky self off of the girl. Once downed, Vanilla would quickly toss a pokeball at it while straightening to her hair.

"That was close…"
