[break][break] There is not much Rocket knows about the simulation, not yet, so he keeps himself on edge. A hand brushes against the hilt of his blade, eyes flickering towards the cave's entrance. He wonders if Malcedena will appear, or Quanto, or some other member of the DRK Triad.

[break][break] "We should be careful," he says, warning his friend as he stares out into the abyss. Countless distorted cries and melodies echo through the space, a shiver running through him at the unhuman voices. It reminds him of his last trip to the Ultra Crater.

[break][break] Before he knows it though, he is already taking the steps forward towards the darkness. Almost as if he doesn't realize that it's dragging him in.

The Ruins of Alpha again.[break][break]
Nomi was beginning to suspect this was the only way she could enter the simulated universe of the RKS machine. Every time she attempted to make the journey, she appeared in the Ruins of Alph, the sacred home of the Unown. Except it wasn't really their home, she knew. They had their own unique dimension; the Ruins of Alpha were merely a...gateway of sorts. A thin veil, where the fabric of reality began to disintegrate, a portal of sorts. Perhaps the right human could even find their way into the Unown dimension via the ruins. How Nomi yearned to find out if such a thing was possible...[break][break]
"Jayden, wait," Nomi grabbed onto his shoulder and held him back from advancing further into the cave. He'd begun to drift forward without realizing it, which was exactly what had happened to Nomi her first few times in the Ruins of Alph simulation. This time, she wanted to find out what happened if they did not enter the dark, ominous tunnel before them.[break][break]
"Every time I follow the pull of the Unown, it results in the same outcome," she explained to him. "I want to find out what will happen if we stay right here."[break][break]
She pointed at the mouth of the cave. A disjointed cacophony of voices wailed all around them, echoing through the cavernous space. Nomi felt the tug of the depths, the desire to keep going.[break][break]
Gritting her teeth, and holding onto Jayden, she resisted it.[break][break]

[break][break] He blinks, turning his head back at the scientist who stops him. Not only had she been here before, but she also knew more about Unown than he did. More than that, he trusted her.

[break][break] "Okay," he says, standing in front of the open cavern, as he grits his teeth. One of his swords float out from behind him, slashing out a WIDE GUARD in an attempt to assist their trainer. The sound that ripples through the tunnel makes his chest ring hollow, nearly almost like being blasted with a metal sound.

Everyone falls through and lands in a decrepit underground hall. The walls feature engravings of what appear to be Unown. One wall spells out a message through the Symbol Pokemon's depicted bodies: the more there is, the less you see.[break][break]

They edged backwards, together. Towards the entrance and away from the all-consuming darkness that threatened them like the gaping maw of some terrible beast. Nomi's hold on Jayden tightened, and she did her best to keep them both steady.[break][break]
"Just a little - more - " she struggled, wincing as the force of the pull worked against them.[break][break]
And then, quite suddenly, the floor collapsed.[break][break]
With a yelp, Nomi lost her footing and her hold on Jayden. The two of them went crashing down, into an entirely new abyss, as rock and sediment crumbled beneath them. She landed with a painful grunt, lower back aching. She scrambled to cover her head with her hands as small boulders rained down upon them. Luckily, the WIDE GUARD put in place by Jayden's Doublade prevented them from getting completely crushed.[break][break]
When the dust settled, Nomi cracked open an eye, and tentatively brought her arms back down to her sides.[break][break]
"Jayden? Are you okay?" She called out to him.[break][break]
They were in a new chamber now, wider than the last. A draft tickled Nomi's dusty cheeks, and she found that she could see a bit better than before: the void-like darkness had receded.[break][break]
What she saw made her suck in an awed breath, however. The walls around them featured engravings of what appeared to be Unown. Messages, some legible, some gibberish. One sentence stood out to her, and her eyes were drawn to it like a magnet.[break][break]
The more there is, the less you see.

Suddenly, the floor collapses beneath them. Stones crumble beneath their feet, and he finds himself falling with Naomi Sato.

[break][break] Wincing, he stood back to his feet once the debris cleared. He blinked, concern flashing until he spotted Naomi Sato beside him.

[break][break] "Yeah. I'm okay. Are you?"

[break][break] Once he was sure that she would be okay, he glanced around their surroundings. They were in a brand new hallway, with mysterious symbols engraved into the walls. Unown. Jayden recognized them immediately. However, where Nomi drew awe, Jayden felt uncertainty. He tensed — preparing himself for whatever it is was that he had to protect Nomi from next.

Nomi reeled, still grasping onto Jayden's hand, her fingers a vice grip. "What - ?" They were outdoors now, bright light nearly blinding her after the darkness of the Ruins of Alph. The sounds of battle could be heard below them, and Nomi peered over the edge of a cliff to see several groups of people clashing in the valley, their Pokemon viciously attacking one another. Cries of pain and rage mixed together to create a terrible cacophony. Nomi winced, recognizing this to be some intense conflict between the League and Rocket. But why? When?[break][break]
"This is Mt. Chimney," she recognized, finally getting her bearings.[break][break]
A man spoke, and Nomi thought perhaps she recognized the voice? It was familiar somehow, though she could not place it. He was a handsome, striking figure, but his expression was intensely troubled. He was dressed in some sort of ritual garb.[break][break]
"Do you recognize him?" She whispered to Jayden.[break][break]
She certainly had no reason to fight him...

Destruction.

[break][break] It reminds him intimately of Kanto, in a way nearly nothing else can. Where Naomi Sato reels back with confusion and shock, Jayden's heart steadies with the memory of the only thing that he knows.

[break][break] "From that app," he murmured to Nomi. Roundez-Vous of Love. Many people had played it, and he had no doubt that Rocket's scientist had taken part. "Remember?"

[break][break] Jayden glanced back at the "bomb" that they'd apparently brought, then back to the set of piercing amber eyes. His fingers gripped tighter around his sister's.

"What does he mean, Moltres' cousin?" Nomi wondered aloud, knowing the simulation would continue regardless of their commentary. When she and Isaac had spoken to Father Winter within the RKS Machine, he had not reacted to their questions - merely continued on with his pre-programmed script.[break][break]
Or so it had seemed.[break][break]
"There's only one Moltres, as far as we know..." but even as she said it, it felt wrong somehow. As if she had some kind of evidence for the contrary, but exactly what it was...she could not quite remember.[break][break]
