In the past, he never would’ve thought about taking a trip like the given for leisure— not solely, at the very least. In light of recent events, however, there were certain habits that he seemed to fall back into whether he realized or not—and whether he preferred it or not—and so he was left with a number of options to take some time to himself with after nagging from a few, specific people.[break][break]

It was a while since he’d set foot in the regional Safari Zone, though, so it was as good of a start for relaxation as anything.[break][break]

Just like always, it seemed to take little time at all for the local wildlife to become curious about any and all newcomers that stepped foot into their home.[break][break]

Especially so when a particular drake had always made it his personal goal to see the sights during the rare times he was able to accompany his trainer wherever he may have gone. With a brief flash of a shadow razing the grounds beneath them, the Stone's gaze had traced along the grasses before lifting to meet the sight of his Noivern, soaring swiftly before descending by the shores of a nearby pond.[break][break]

He watched for just a second or two before noting the dragon begin to mingle and interact with a Wishiwashi that seemed eager to talk. A small smile tugged upon the trainer's lips as he hummed, palming one of the Safari Balls he'd been given and waiting until the two were finished before tossing it out.[break][break]

He moved along not too long afterward.[break][break]

With his footsteps did his Noivern follow along, watching as his trainer began his trek before flapping his wings and embarking upon a flight overhead. The Stone trailed his gaze along the beast's form all the while, smiling softly and humming to himself before setting his eyes upon the path before him once more.[break][break]

In due time, another member of the local population seemed intent with greeting him. His smile broadened as he slowed to a stop, kneeling down onto a knee and awaiting the monochromatically pelted animal to approach him, itself.[break][break]

He reached into a pocket, offering it a snack he'd purchased before entry before tapping another Safari Ball onto its head.[break][break]

The passing scenery along the pathways were a familiar sight, to say the least, but it was interesting and calming to see what had changed and what remained the same between then and his prior visit. Both literally and metaphorically, it felt like everything had been ages ago, and yet after arrival back within the region—back home—there was little difficulty in recalling what had happened before he’d embarked for the Sacred Tomb yet all the difficulty in the world to recall more and more what happened in the past aside from that.[break][break]

He paused in stride for a brief moment to dwell on the matter.[break]
He furrowed his brows before long, opting to simply continue on and cast such matters aside.[break][break]

The pensiveness that crept between the cracks of his mind seemed to disperse before long at all could pass, courtesy of the selfsame fauna that inhabited the area. Though an absentminded glare had been locked upon the paths before him for a short while, a small flash of movement garnered his attention instead, prompting him to glance up.[break][break]

It was then that he met eyes with a Ledyba, briefly flying circles around him in curiosity before merely hovering before him.[break][break]

A touch of surprise soon transitioned into one of amusement as a softness filled his gaze. Sighing quietly and furrowing his brows in curiosity, rather than thought, he eyed the bug for a short while before reaching out and patting its head.[break][break]

He watched as it accepted his touch, even going so far as to lean into it before buzzing away.[break][break]

He chuckled to himself, barely taking a step forward once the Pokemon departed before another one seemed intent to catch his attention.[break][break]

It started with a cry from a distance— and one that was all too familiar to him, personally. Blinking, the Stone peered around in an attempt to trace the source before ultimately meeting eyes with an Elekid some ways away, eying him from the outskirts of some shrubberies before beginning to—...[break][break]

Waddle? Scamper?[break]
Whatever was most accurate to describe how an Elekid ran.[break][break]

It stopped at his feet before long, and for a few, calm moments, they simply stared at one another. The awkwardness of it all prompted a small, albeit unsure smile to tug upon his lips before he slowly knelt down, pocketing his hand briefly before retrieving a small snack from its confines and offering it to the little, dual hued creature.[break][break]

He chuckled as it accepted it with an eagerness that contrasted its earlier pensiveness, accounting it for a while longer before taking one of his remaining Safari Balls and tapping it against its head as it snacked away.[break][break]

Just as he'd clipped the newly occupied Safari Ball onto his belt, he took note of another flash of movement from the corner of his eye.[break][break]

Swift. Fleeting. What started as a sense of wariness had trickled into one of amusement and curiosity, alike, as the source of said movement made themselves known once more. Its flame flickered softly atop its head, barely visible before it poked its head from around the back of a nearby tree.[break][break]

A Charcadet, he recognized.[break][break]

A rather shy one as well, by the look of it. It gave an endearing display; one that he couldn't help but smile a bit more at as he slowly began to shift in favor of sitting down on the paths. With a patient eye, he tilted his head before simply remaining where and as he was, giving it the chance to approach itself if it do desired.[break][break]

Lo and behold, it did.[break][break]

He chuckled and allowed it to move at its own pace, offering a hand for it to watch and examine before gently playing along with it once it realized he meant no harm. Like the last Pokemon, he offered it a snack, too, before tapping his last Safari ball against it.[break][break]
